MENNO — The Freeman boys and Canistota girls captured team titles at Thursday’s Erv Ptak Relays.

The Freeman boys scored 144 points to secure the team title, ahead of Avon (112) and Hanson (110). The Canistota girls won the team title with 113 points, clipping Scotland/Menno (108) and Freeman (106.5). 

On the boys side, Bridgewater-Emery’s Calvary Bickett won the 100-meter dash (:11.80).

Sioux Falls Lutheran’s Simeon Ovenden captured the 200-meter dash (:23.61).

Freeman’s Luke Peters secured the 400-meter dash (:51.17).

SFL’s Owen Gilster took the 800-meter run (1:58.39).

Freeman’s Lane McCune won the 1,600-meter run (4:46.03) and the 3,200-meter run (10:31.16).

Hanson’s Stetson Riggs took the 110-meter hurdles (:17.63) and the 300-meter hurdles (:43.22).

Hanson’s Riggs, Cole Dewald, Jett Jager and Carter Endorf took the 400-meter relay (:45.44).

Freeman’s Peters, Luke Miller, Brody Sorensen and Tate Sorensen won the 800-meter relay (1:32.22) and the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (3:49.85).

SFL’s Rowen Becker, Hudson Wengert, Callum Ovenden and Simeon Ovenden took the 1,600-meter relay (3:41.33).

Avon’s Easton Sees, Brenson Ratzlaff, Zander Fathke and Cale Cooper won the 3,200-meter relay (8:49.12).

In the field events, Avon’s Al’Shamon Gunter won the shot put title (47-07.50) and discus throw (139-10.50).

Freeman’s Alaric Knittel won the javelin throw (146-00).

SFL’s Becker won the high jump event (5-08).

Irene-Wakonda’s Jordan Stockland took the pole vault event (12-04).

Hanson’s Jason Porth won the long jump event (19-09.50).

Scotland/Menno’s Micah Goehring secured the triple jump event (41-07.75).

In the girls’ meet, Freeman’s Vaida Ammann won the 100-meter dash (:13.12).

Canistota’s Ellia Hjermstad secured the 200-meter dash (:27.99).

Freeman’s Penny Schultz won the 400-meter race (1:02.96).

SFL’s Clara Pederson captured the 800-meter race (2:27.75).

Scotland/Menno’s Elle Hlavac won the 1,600-meter run (5:41.23) while teammate Zoe Schaeffer secured the 3,200-meter run (13:10.81).

Irene-Wakonda’s Maryn Lyngstad took first place in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.23).

Freeman’s Rylee Peters won the 300-meter hurdles (:47.10).

Freeman’s Makenzie Scharberg, Cadence Hofer, Landrei Baker and Ammann won the 400-meter relay (:51.31) while Scharberg, Peters, Baker and Ammann took the 800-meter relay (1:48.33). Baker, Peters, Ammann and Hofer won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:38.97) as well.

Avon’s Rilyn Thury, Hadlee Kracht, Emersyn Haenfler and Raegan Brandt won the 1,600-meter relay (4:42.44).

SFL’s Evie Jesch, Bridget Miller, Reese Becker and Pederson won the 3,200-meter relay (10:17.00).

In the field events, Irene-Wakonda’s Lanie Van Beek won the shot put (33-03.00).

Avon’s Lexi Vanderlei won the discus throw (104-08.50).

Scotland/Menno’s Kylie Guthmiller won the javelin throw (106-08) while teammate Lexie McNinch took the high jump title (4-0-4).

IW’s Callie Peterson won the pole vault event (8-06).

Canistota’s Allison Leber won the long jump title (15-02).

Freeman’s Hofer took first place in the triple jump event (33-04.25) as well.
