GETTYSBURG — Herreid/Selby Area’s Gavin Hirsch and Wolsey-Wessington’s Kendal Uttecht won individual titles at Wednesday’s Region 4B cross-country meet at the Gettysburg Country Club.

Hirsch won the 5,000-meter race by nearly a minute, finishing with a time of 16:12.20. North Central’s Drew Arbach placed second with a time of 17:11.00. Sunshine Bible Academy’s Reagan Sandness (17:33.50) took third place, while North Central’s Aaron Ingerson (17:34.80) and Avery Wells (17:51.50) rounded out the top-5.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Kendal Uttecht claimed the individual title finishing with a time of 19:13.30. Hoven’s Dannika Kaup finished in second with a time of 19:32.60, Highmore-Harrold’s Autumn Fallis (19:40.30) took third place, Jones County’s BreAna Aske (19.52.00) finished fourth while Evelyn Shearer (19:55.70) took fifth place.

NC ran away with the boys team title scoring 11 points, followed by Herreid/Selby Area (34) and Highmore-Harrold (35). 

In the girls team race, Herreid/Selby Area won the team title with a total of 17 points, ahead of Highmore-Harrold (22) and Gettysburg (27).
