IPSWICH — Herreid/Selby Area’s Gavin Hirsch and Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith captured individual titles at Saturday’s Ipswich Invitational. 

Hirsch covered the 5,000-meter distance in 17 minutes, finishing more than a minute ahead of second-place runner Regan Sandness of Sunshine Bible Academy (18:10). North Central’s Drew Arbach (18:11) and Highmore-Harrold’s Jordan Erfman (18:23) finished third and fourth, respectively. Mobridge-Pollock’s Thomas Holzer (18:39) placed fifth.

Galbraith, a seventh-grader, covered the 5,000-meter run in 19:06 and led a host of Ipswich Tigers. Ipswich’s Kalynn Oban (19:12), Jayla Stiles (19:21), Madisyn Gellhaus (19:29) and Jennay Gisi (19:49) finished second-through-fifth, respectively. 

The Ipswich girls easily captured the team title, finishing with six points. Herreid/Selby Area (25) and Highmore-Harrold (33) finished second and third, respectively. 

The North Central boys won the team title with 16 points, finishing ahead of Highmore-Harrold (26) and Herreid/Selby Area (40).
