SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Jefferson standout Brinley Altenburg will be a Nebraska Cornhusker.

The 5-foot-10 junior guard announced her verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska on April 23 via social media.


Altenburg, a two-time Class AA all-state first team selection, averaged 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and two assists per game this past season, leading the Cavaliers to an eighth-place finish at the state tournament.

Altenburg will head to the Big 10 Conference and join Spearfish native and Nebraska women’s basketball head coach Amy Williams along with Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal who will be a freshman for the Huskers in the fall.
