Tabor Bluebirds 10, Lesterville Broncs 3

TABOR — Chase Kortan and Hunter Hallock combined for eight RBIs as Tabor topped Lesterville in the annual Czech Days game on Thursday.

Kortan batted 2-for-5 with a homer, driving in five runs while Hallock added three RBIs on three hits. Joey Slama tallied three hits and an RBI, Landon Bares added an RBI on two hits, Landon Schmidt collected two hits while Jace Toupal had three hits in the win.

Riley Rothschadl tossed five innings for the Bluebirds, allowing three unearned runs on five hits and a walk, striking out 10.

For Lesterville, Ethan Wishon allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks in 4.1 innings, striking out two.

Tyler Edler and Owen Wishon each had two hits while Michael Drotzmann drove in a run in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 13, Flandreau Blue Teal 5

FLANDREAU — Dell Rapids scored 11 unanswered runs to earn a comeback win over the Flandreau Blue Teal in Cornbelt League action on Thursday.

Jake Brandenburg took the win on the mound in 1.2 innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one.

Tad Tjaden had three RBIs on three hits and a walk for PBR, Brandenburg collected four hits, Weston Hansen and Drew Sweeter each had two hits and an RBI, CJ Smith tallied two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Riley Hoffman, Zack Puetz, Nate Nichols and Lincoln Fersdahl each drove in a run in the win.

For Flandreau, Tristan Peters took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out three.

Emmot Nathan and Brayden Bryum each had two RBIs on two hits, Kolby Peters collected two hits while Tristan Peters added an RBI-single in the loss.


Freeman Blacksox 18, Irene Cardinals 8 (8 innings)

FREEMAN — Trey Ortman drove in six runs as Freeman ran away from Irene in South Central League action on Thursday.

Ortman had six RBIs on two hits, including a grand slam and a walk, Rocky Ammann added four RBIs on three hits and a walk, Jackson Fiegen and Colton Spader each had two RBIs on two hits while Evan Scharberg and Sawyer Wipf both tallied an RBI on one hit in the win.

Scharberg earned the win on the mound in three innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks, striking out three.

For Irene, Jake DeLange took the loss in five innings pitched, allowing eight runs on seven hits and eight walks, striking out four.

Dustin Livingston and Bryant Knodel each had two RBIs on a hit, Cole Edberg added three hits and a walk, Anthony De La Tourre Guglielmana added two hits and an RBI while DeLange, Cayden Ganschow and Noah Hansen each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks 9, Baltic River Dawgs 7

HUMBOLDT — The Wood Ducks pounded out 13 hits as Humboldt-Hartford topped Baltic in Cornbelt League action on Thursday.

Logan Larsen batted 4-for-5 with two RBIs, Drew Eldeen had three hits and two RBIs, Curtis Flint added a home and two walks, driving in two runs while Braden Herr and Loren Jacobson each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Eldeen took the win on the mound in six innings, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks, striking out eight.

For Baltic, Tyler Grunewaldt took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out three.

Noah Hammond smacked a three-run homer for Baltic, Kooper Perry had two RBIs on  three hits and a walk while Cael Swanson and Colbe Scott each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 8, Dell Rapids Mudcats 6

DELL RAPIDS — A three-run ninth inning powered Flandreau over the Dell Rapids Mudcats in Cornbelt League action on Thursday.

JC Morales tossed seven innings for the Cardinals, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks, striking out eight.

Keith Cutler had two RBIs on two hits, Paul Clark added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Beau Severtson tallied an RBI on four walks while Jacob Patterson, JaColby Anderson and Luke Gassman each drove in a run in the win.

For DR, Treyse Eastman tossed two innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks, striking out five in the loss.

Josh Roemen had three RBIs on three hits, Kason Syverson hit a solo homer while Landon Ruesink added two RBIs on two hits in the loss.


Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks 15, Salem Cubs 2 (7 innings)

SALEM —The Gamecocks pounded out 12 hits as Hartford-Humboldt took down Salem in Cornbelt League action on Thursday.

Joe Hanisch and Cam Quigley each powered in three runs on two hits, including a homer by Hanisch, Kyle Konechne added three hits and an RBI, Noah Vettrus drove in a run on two hits and two walks, Devon Garry tallied two RBIs on a homer and two walks while Drew Talberg, JD Kirchner and Broc Haldeman each had an RBI in the win.

Carver Hultgren earned the win on the mound in six innings pitched, allowing two unearned runs on two hits and three walks, striking out seven.

For Salem, Owen Alley took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing seven runs on eight hits and five walks, striking out four.

Bobby Koepsell and Cole Cheeseman each had a hit in the loss for the Cubs.


Parkston Mudcats 8, Parkston Devil Rays 6

PARKSTON — The Mudcats held off the Devil Rays to win the battle for The Pond in Sunshine League action on Thursday.

Max Scott led the Mudcats offense with three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Spencer Freudenthal added three hits and an RBI, Gunnar Wilhelm had an RBI on two hits, Brady Albrecht collected two hits and a walk while Brayden Jervik had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Miles Doyle earned the win on the mound in 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, striking out two.

For the Rays, Nolan Dvorak took the loss in two innings of relief, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks, striking out four.

Carter Sommer had three hits, a homer, and two RBIs, Dvorak drove in two runs on a double and three walks while Caden Donahue collected two hits and an RBI in the loss.


Madison Broncos 8, Canova Gang 4

MADISON — Madison powered out 16 hits as the Broncos took down Canova in Cornbelt League action on Thursday.

Logan Albee led the Broncos with three RBIs on three hits, including two homers, Tyler Tappe added two hits and two RBIs, Chris Burke, Peyton Wolf and Carson Wolf each had two hits while Heith Williams, Ty Jorgenson and Ian Barker each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Lucas Mork took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out five.

For Canova, Derek Miller took the loss in 5.2 innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits and a walk, striking out seven.

Luke Koepsell had two RBIs on two hits, Jackson Remmers added an RBI on two hits while Riley Genzlinger and Cole Gassman each had two hits in the loss.


Platte Killer Tomatoes 5, Mount Vernon Mustangs 4 (10 innings)

MOUNT VERNON — Platte surged past Mount Vernon for a Sunshine League win in extra innings on Thursday.

Grayson Hanson had three hits, Ray Travnicek tallied two RBIs on two hits, Hayden Kuiper had two RBIs on a homer and a walk while Preston Nedved collected an RBI on one hit.

Travis Gant took the win on the mound in 3.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out two.

For MV, Deric Denning took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks, striking out one.

Daniel Laufman had two RBIs on one hit, Bradley Dean, Tanner Van Driel and Eric Giblin each had two hits while Cameron Deinert drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 10, Corsica Horned Frogs 0 (8 innings)

WINNER — Winner/Colome collected 14 hits as it blanked Corsica in Sunshine League action on Thursday.

Kelly O’Bryan led the Pheasants with four hits and an RBI, Dillon Lambley added three RBIs on three hits, Derek Graesser and Landon Calhoon each had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, including a homer by Calhoon, while Camden Anderson had two hits in the win.

O’Bryan took the win on the mound in five innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, striking out three.

For Corsica, Brendan Wentland took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and three walks, striking out three.

Gavin Zomer, Jarrett Olawsky, Tate Tolsma and Jackson Neuman each had a hit in the loss.


Colome Chaos 8, Plankinton Bankers 5

PLANKINTON — Colome held off a late comeback to beat Plankinton in Pony Hills League action on Thursday.

Jake Luse took the win on the mound for the Chaos, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out eight.

Luse had three RBIs on a hit, Joey Cole collected two RBIs on two hits, Karson Keiser and Brad Ellis each had an RBI on two hits, Kevin Carter drove in a run while Carter Brickman, Joseph Laprath and Ethan Vobr each tallied two hits in the win.

For Plankinton, Devin Mehlhaff took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing six runs on 13 hits and two walks, striking out seven.

Teegan Schlimgen drove in two runs on three hits and a walk, Jim Choc and Mehlhaff each had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Thomas Stange added two hits in the loss.


Wessington Springs Owls 4, Four Corners 1

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Layne Cotton strikes out 17 batters as Wessington Springs holds off Four Corners in Pony Hills League action on Thursday.

Cotton allowed just one unearned run on four hits and six walks in nine complete innings, striking out 17 in 178 pitches.

Cade Mohling drove in a run on a hit and a walk while Cole McKeown drove in a run as well for the Owls.

For Four Corners, Jack Van Camp took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing four runs on four hits and six walks, striking out 14.

Gunnar Bruggeman tallied two hits in the loss for 4C.


Wynot (Neb.) Expos 17, Menno MadFrogs 7 (8 innings)

MENNO — Jackson Sudbeck tallied six RBIs as Wynot ran away from Menno in South Central League action on Thursday.

Sudbeck had six RBIs on a homer and a walk, Jaelen Wieseler added four RBIs on four hits, a homer, and two walks, Jesse Lundal tallied two RBIs on three hits and a walk, Landon Wieseler collected three hits, a walk, and an RBI while Devin Lammers added two RBIs on a homer and a walk in the win.

Lundal took the win on the mound in seven innings of work, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out 11.

For Menno, Brayden Sattler took the loss in two innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk.

Sattler added three hits and an RBI for the MadFrogs, Kyle Munkvold tallied two RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Trent Guthmiller added two RBIs on a hit, Macon Oplinger drove in a run on two hits while Nick Ratzloff had an RBI-walk in the loss.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 17, Chamberlain Mallards 0 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Kimball/White Lake rolled to a Pony Hills League win over Chamberlain on Thursday.

Jaxon Christensen had three RBIs on three hits and two walks for the Nationals, Cooper Leiferman added two RBIs on three hits, Keaton Christensen drove in four runs on a hit, Eathen Gaulke added two RBIs, Caden Lenz had two RBIs on a hit while Trent Wookey collected two hits for the Nationals.

Mitchell Price took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, striking out four. Ethan Price added six strikeouts as well.

For Chamberlain, Sandler Wiekamp took the loss in two innings, allowing nine runs on three hits and four walks, striking out three.

Canyon Burkhard tallied the lone hit in the loss.

 

Harrisburg Woodies 4, Sioux Falls Brewers 0

HARRISBURG — Kris Regas struck out seven batters as Harrisburg blanked the Sioux Falls Brewers in Amateur baseball action on Thursday.

Regas allowed just two hits in five shutout innings, striking out seven to earn the win on the mound.

Isaac Loosmore had a two-run homer while Michael Oakland hit a solo homer in the win.

For the Brewers, Riley Schilling took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks, striking out six.

Drue Soukup, Schilling, Carter Gronseth and Andrew Langner each had a hit in the loss.


Tea Steam 5, Yankton Lakers 4

TEA — Matthew Hanson’s walk-off walk secured an amateur baseball win for Tea over Yankton Thursday.

Troy Ljunggren had three RBIs on a double, Jerod Cryus and Hanson each had an RBI on a walk while Dawson Portner tallied two hits in the win.

Cole McKinney earned the win on the mound in three innings pitched, allowing one run on one hit and two walks, striking out three.

For Yankton, Julian Santoyo took the loss in 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and seven walks, striking out three.

Waylon McKnight had three hits and an RBI while Rugby Ryken added two hits and two RBIs in the loss.
