MITCHELL — With a number of highly ranked Class A teams at Saturday’s Jerry Opbroek Invitational the Sturgis wrestling team came out on top. 

Behind four individual champions Sturgis racked up 199.5 points, ahead of Pierre (191) and Watertown (189.5). Rapid City Stevens (129) and Parkston (121) rounded out the top-five. 

Teryn Zebroski (113), Reese Jacobs (182), Aiden Werlinger (195) and Zak Juelfs (220) were the individual champions for Sturgis. 

Pierre had four champions in Tristan Spencer (138), Jaxon Ducheneaux (145), Deegan Houska (160) and Joshua Rydberg (285). 

Watertown had three champions in Gage Lohr (106), Sloan Johannsen (120) and Weston Everson (126). Parkston had two champions, Wyatt Anderson (132) and Porter Neugebauer (152). 

The other individual champion was Milbank’s Barrett Schneck (170).

Pierre girls claim team title at Saturday’s Harrisburg Invitational

SIOUX FALLS — With three individual champions and depth throughout the weight classes the Pierre girls racked up 218 points, ahead of Canton (157.5) and Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda (132) to win the team title at Saturday’s Harrisburg Invitational. Shawnee Northwest (107) and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon (69) and Harrisburg (69) rounded out the top-five. 

Gianna Strangeland (132), Hattie Baldwin (154) and Ciara McFarling (285) won individual titles for Pierre. 

Sara Schroder (113), Carlee Laubach (170) and Zoe Adam (190) won titles for Canton. 

The dynamic duo of Britney Rueb (120) and Peyton Hellmann (126) won titles for Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon. 

Other individual titles went to Brandon Valley’s Mary-Katherine Joseph (106) and Yankton’s Neveah Leonard (142).

Miller/Highmore-Harrold wins team title at Tri-Valley Invitational

COLTON — Despite not winning an individual title at Saturday’s Tri-Valley Invitational team depth proved critical as the Bandits from Miller/Highmore-Harrold won the team title. 

MHH racked up 172.5 points, ahead of Tri-Valley (158) and Parker (155). Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes and Sioux Falls Jefferson (both with 150) rounded out the top-five. 

Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes had four individual champions in Gavin Braun (120), Kasen Konstanz (126), Iden Myers (132) and Carter Lenz (152).

Tri-Valley’s champions were Cole Hendrixson (113) and Isaac Nehlich (285). Bom/Homme/Avon’s champions were Jackson Caba (145) and Isaac Crownover (182). Parker’s champions were Charlie Patten (195) and Levi Wieman (220). 

Other individual titles went to Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Aidan Wells (106), Jhett Breen (138), Winner Area’s Riley Orl (160) and Elk Point-Jefferson’s Ben Swatek (170)

GETTYSBURG — Jacksen Carter (113), Joey Hoverson (145) and Keegan Haider (182) all won individual titles for the Warhawks at Saturday’s Battler Invitational. 

Other individual winners were Clark/Willow Lake’s Cooper Pommer (106), Lemmon/Mcintosh’s Gage Anderson (120), Stanley County’s Chase Hanson (126), Webster’s Haeden Jorgenson (132), Groton Area’s Christian Ehresmann (138).

Chamberlain had a pair of champions in Noah Hutmacher (220) and Canyon Burkard (285).

Custer cruises to Black Hills Conference wrestling title

LEAD DEADWOOD — The Custer boys wrapped up a busy week by running away with the team title at Saturday’s Black Hills Conference Tournament. The Wildcats put up 267.5 points, ahead of Douglas/Rapid City Christian/New Underwood (156.5) and Spearfish (114.5). Lead-Deadwood (89.5) and Belle Fourche (81) rounded out the top-five. 

Custer’s nine individual champions were Tyler Trant (106), Tray Weiss (113), Landon Woodward (126), Riley Scott (132), Jonathan Lewis (160), Ryder Bailey (170), Parker Noem (182), Grady Lehrkamp (220) and Zayne Severyn (285).

MARTIN — The Lyman wrestling team had three champions in Tance Wagner (160), Rory McManus (170) and Louie Thiry (285) at Saturday’s Bennett County Invitational.

The Rapid City Stevens junior varsity had two champions in Max Schoenhard (106) and Aiden Callahan (126). 

Other individual champions were claimed by Bennett County’s Neil Hicks (120) and Semi Big Crow of Pine Ridge (145). 

Gordon-Rushville racked up 261 points, ahead of the Rapid City Stevens JV (150.5) and Bennett County (107) and Lyman (107) to claim the team title at Saturday’s Bennett County Invitational.

Harrisburg defeats Aberdeen Central to claim title at Harrisburg Dual Tournament

SIOUX FALLS — Harrisburg ran the table at Saturday’s Harrisburg Dual Tournament. The Tigers defeated Sioux Falls O’Gorman 63-9 and Sioux Falls Washington 70-6 to win their pool. 

In the first round of the Gold championships Harrisburg defeated Tea Area 45-17. 

In the final dual the Tigers defeated Aberdeen Central 39-27.
