Crazy Horse 78, Wakpala 67

HURON — Four players reached double figures as Crazy Horse withstood a second half rally to pick up a win over Wakpala Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Noah Iron Horse led the Chiefs with 16 points while Hyden Martin came off the bench to score 12 points. Trey Lamont and Larry Romero each had 11 points for Crazy Horse. 

Ashtyn Kills Small and Zachary Moran each scored 19 points to lead Wakpala. Lane Cadotte added 11 for the Sioux. 


Lower Brule 113, Takini 43

HURON — Gavin Thigh and Brian LaRoche Jr. combined for 53 points as Class B No. 4 Lower Brule earned a win over Takini in the first round of the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Thigh finished with 34 points while making five 3-pointers. LaRoche Jr. had a 19-point effort in the morning game. Tate Elk Soldier pumped in 20 points and Haepi Elk Soldier added 11 points for the Sioux.  

Redick Curley led Takini with 16 points while Logan Quilt had 11 points in the contest. 


Omaha Nation 87, Flandreau Indian 55

HURON — Keiyan Parker and Keithan Miller combined for 43 points as Omaha Nation picked up a boys basketball win over Flandreau Indian at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Parker poured in 24 points while Miller chipped in with 19 points. Avander Parker-Galvin came off the bench to record 11 points. 

L’Trell Brother of All led Flandreau Indian with 25 points. Malik Longie and Lavelle Fights Over each recorded 10 points for Flandreau Indian. 


Marty 84, Tiospaye Topa 59

HURON — Five players reached double figures as the Marty Braves ran past Tiospaye Topa earning a boys basketball win at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Benicio Zephier paced the Braves with 23 points. Julius Bruguier added 16 points with Greg Zephier scoring 15 points. Kizer Ashes and Terrill Rave combined to score 23 points for the Braves. 

Kris Meeter led Tiospaye Topa with 27 points while Jorge Hawk pitched in with 13 points. 


Howard 66, Chester Area 40 

CHESTER — Luke Koepsell and Logan Mentele combined for 30 points to pace Howard to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Koepsell finished with 16 points and Mentele added 14 points. 

Chester Area’s Layke Wold finished with 13 points, while Brayden Schut added 11 points. Jovi Wolf grabbed nine rebounds. 


De Smet 51, Canistota 39 

DE SMET — Class B No. 3 De Smet picked up a boys basketball win over Canistota on Thursday.

De Smet’s Damon Wilkinson finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and two blocked shots. Kadyn Fast added 12 points and five rebounds. George Jensen logged nine points and Tom Aughenbaugh posted eight points. Kasen Janssen had five points, six rebounds and four assists. 

Canistota’s Tage Ortman finished with 19 points and five rebounds. Brady Scott and Deshon Thompson scored six points apiece. Brandon Kjetland added nine rebounds and Noah Kleinsasser had five boards. 


Crow Creek 77, Stanley County 72

FORT PIERRE — Crow Creek rallied past Stanley County for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Crow Creek’s Quentin McBride Jr. scored 28 points and hit five 3-pointers. Kiron Thompson added 12 points and seven rebounds. Jayden Sazue logged 11 points, while Cory Big Eagle Jr., posted eight points. Mickael Bernard and Bradyn Brother of All scored seven and six points, respectively. Josiah Kirkie scored five points. 

Stanley County’s Broch Zeeb posted a game-high 34 points and collected eight rebounds. Kaden Montana added 19 points. Paxton Deal scored eight points. 


Lennox 76, Parkston 42

PARKSTON — Three players scored in double figures as Lennox earned a win over Parkston in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Conner Eich hit four 3-pointers and led Lennox with 17 points. Talan Diercks finished with 14 points and Tate Gerdes came off the bench to have 10 points, three assists and two steals. 

Reid Lesichner, Kaleb Weber and Brycen Bruening each had seven points to lead Parkston. 


Dakota Valley 73, Sioux Falls Christian 57

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley pulled away from Class A No. 3 Sioux Falls Christian for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Dakota Valley’s Isaac Bruns recorded 26 points and five rebounds. Randy Rosenquist Jr., added 15 points, seven assists, five steals and three rebounds. Jaxon Hennies recorded 13 points, while Luke Bruns added eight points and three rebounds. Jaxson Wingert added eight rebounds and Sam Faldmo had five assists. 

No Sioux Falls Christian stats were reported. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 53, Britton-Hecla 19

BRITTON — A balanced scoring attack helped Aberdeen Roncalli pick up a win over Britton-Hecla in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Caden Shelton powered Aberdeen Roncalli with 11 points. Maddox Miller and Darwin Gambler each scored eight points while Jayden Munroe added seven points. 

BoDell Davidson led Britton-Hecla with 10 points. 


Dell Rapids 69, Vermillion 48 

VERMILLION — Brayden Pankonen and Jack Henry combined for 41 points to power Dell Rapids to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Pankonen recorded 25 points, while Henry added 14 points. Tad Tjaden had 12 points. Rhett Kloth added six points and six boards. Camden Justice scored six points. 

Vermillion’s Carter Hansen recorded 11 points and Bryson Skogsberg scored 10 points. Zoan Robinson added nine points, while Carter Skogsberg had eight points. Trey Hansen had seven points.


Viborg-Hurley 69, Centerville 43

VIBORG — Viborg-Hurley jumped out to a 21-9 first-quarter lead en route to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Nick Hanson recorded 19 points and nine rebounds. Kobee Sherman recorded 15 points, while Bryson Morrison added 13 points. Gage Goettertz finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Devin Sayler had seven rebounds and five assists. 

Centerville’s Logan Bobzin had 16 points and five rebounds. 


Beresford 61, Flandreau 50 

BERESFORD — Beresford used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a boys basketball win over Flandreau on Thursday.

Tate VanOtterloo finished with 24 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and five steals. Andrew Atwood added 14 points and five boards. Aidan Hamm recorded nine points, four assists and four rebounds. Jake Goblirsch had seven points. 

Flandreau’s Paul Parsley posted 18 points and Luke Sheppard added 14 points. Alfie Henderson tossed in 12 points. 

Bon Homme 63, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 40

LAKE ANDES — Bon Homme pulled away from Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Bon Homme’s Chapin Cooper logged 29 points and six steals. Riley Rothschadl added 15 points and 14 rebounds. 

ACDC’s Tyson Cournoyer recorded six points, while Tate Timmermans had six points. Ty Archambeau recorded eight rebounds.


Elk Point-Jefferson 71, Tri-Valley 54

ELK POINT — Five players scored in double figures to pace Elk Point-Jefferson to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

EPJ’s Devon Schmitz logged 13 points and hit three 3-pointers. Garrett Merkley added 12 points and four assists. Chace Fornia had 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Jakob Scarmon logged 11 points, while Easton Kempf had 11 points and eight rebounds. Alexander Scarmon added nine points and five rebounds. 

Tri-Valley’s Noah Haynes posted 17 points and seven rebounds. Trey Johnson added 12 points and six rebounds. Alex Wingen had 10 points and four rebounds. Logan Ellison recorded eight points, while Braden Oyen added seven points and seven assists. 


Rapid City Central 59, Spearfish 54

RAPID CITY — Cooper Totten and Shun-Zi White Woman combined for 30 points as Rapid City Central clipped Spearfish in boys basketball action on Thursday. 

Totten tallied 18 points and six rebounds. White Woman added 12 points and four rebounds. Cameron Steidley recorded eight points, while Tyson Waters had six rebounds. Lincoln Archambault posted five points and five assists. 

Spearfish’s Seth Hamilton posted 21 points, five rebounds, five 3-pointers and four assists. Antonio Serrano added 15 points and five rebounds. Dylon Doren had nine points and seven rebounds. Smith Funke posted five points. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 75, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 52

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Jefferson jumped out to a 19-7 first-quarter lead en route to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Kaden Year recorded 24 points and four rebounds. Taylen Ashley added 11 points and four rebounds. Mason Riley recorded eight points, while Dawson Sechser added seven points. Cameron Black finished with six points. Griffin Wilde and Taylen Ashley scored five points apiece. Ethan Koltz collected five rebounds, while Sam Siegried had four points and five rebounds.

Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Zander Benz finished with 18 points and six rebounds. Matthew Eng added 15 points, whale Ryland Sattler added six points. 


Sioux Falls Lincoln 80, Sioux Falls Washington 68

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Lincoln to a boys basketball win on Thursday. The Patriots finished with 15 3-pointers. 

J.T. Rock finished with 30 points, nine rebounds, five blocked shots and four 3-pointers. Elliot Whitney added 21 points added 21 points and nailed five 3-pointers. Tate Schafer logged 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Jack Hilgenberg posted seven points. 

Washington’s Gage Gasca logged 13 points and three 3-pointers. Mandalla Mohamed and Cole Peterson scored 12 points apiece. Mohamed grabbed nine rebounds. A.J. Akot finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Zharic Sheppard scored nine points, all on 3-pointers.
