Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 2, Canova Gang 1 (10 innings)

CANOVA — Dawson Bakker’s RBI-single lifted Madison over Canova in an extra-inning Cornbelt League victory Sunday.

Bakker drove in one run on one hit, Ty Jorgenson drove in a run on three hits, Matt Burpee collected one hit and three walks, while Heith Williams and Tyler Tappe each tallied hits in the victory.

Tappe earned the victory on the mound for Madison allowing zero baserunners in two innings of relief, striking out two batters. Aspen Dahl tossed the first six innings for Madison, issuing one run on five hits and three walks, striking out 10 batters.

For Canova, Kendall Gassman took the loss on the mound despite a 20-strikeout, 181-pitch performance, issuing one run on seven hits and six walks in 9.1 innings.

Gassman drove in the lone run for Canova on one hit, while Jason Miller tallied two hits. Garrett Gassman and Tim Gassman each tallied hits in the loss for Canova as well.


Milbank Firechiefs 5, Castlewood Ravens 4

MILBANK — Merik Junker’s walk-off single lifted Milbank over Castlewood in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Junker tallied three hits, including a double, in the victory for the Firechiefs, driving in the game-winning run. Kaden Krause drove in two runs on one hit and a walk, Taylor Boerger drove in a run on one hit, while Dom Boerger, Tyler Krause, Brady Femling, and Kellen Hoeke each tallied hits in the win.

Brady Krause took victory on the mound in 0.2 innings of relief, issuing one strikeout, while Taylor Boerger tossed the first 8.1 innings for Milbank, issuing four runs on eight hits and two walks, striking out 14.

For Castlewood, Booker Schooley took the loss in 2.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit and three walks, striking out two.

Ethan Benck drove in two runs on one hit, Kellan Benck drove in a run on one hit and a walk, while Lucas Ching and Kyler Tvedt each tallied two hits in the loss for the Ravens.

 

 

Kimball/White Lake Nationals 6, Burke Bombers 5

WHITE LAKE — Jaxon Christensen’s walk-off home run earned Kimball/White Lake a Pony Hills League victory Sunday night.

Christensen batted 2-for-5 in the game for the Nationals, including a double and homer, driving two runs. Dylan Konenche drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Tucker Wookey drove in a run on a walk as well.

Three pitchers combined for the victory on the mound for KWL, Ethan Price threw five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks, striking out six, Dylanger Pierson tossed three innings of relief, issuing two runs on three hits and two walks, tossing another six strikeouts, while Hudson Heath tossed one inning, allowing one run on three walks.

For Burke, Hunter Van Niewenhuyse and Brogan Glover combined for the loss on the mound, allowing six runs on five hits and seven walks, striking out 12 batters.

Tommy Determan collected two hits for Burke, Sawyer Tietgen, Blake Boes, Coy Determan, and Glover each tallied an RBI on one hit, including a solo homer by Coy Determan, Christian Schweigert drove in a run on a walk, while Ben Witt tallied a hit and two walks in the loss.

 

Dimock/Emery Raptors 8, Platte Killer Tomatoes 3

GEDDES — Landon Waddell struck out 15 batters in a Sunshine League victory over Platte Sunday.

Waddell tossed 7.1 innings for Dimock/Emery, issuing two runs on four hits and six walks, striking out 15 batters along the way to earn the victory on the mound for the Raptors.

Sam Pischke and Josh Engquist each drove in two runs on two hits, including two doubles by Enquist and two additional walks by Pischke. Chase Arend tallied three hits, Waddell drove in a run on one hit, Doug Sudbeck drove in a run on sac fly, while Gene Kitchens tallied two hits and a walk in the win as well.

For Platte, Travis Gant took the loss in five innings on the mound, issuing six runs on nine hits and two walks, striking out three batters.

Grayson Hanson drove in two runs on a homer, Richard Sternberg drove in a run on a double and a walk, while Hayden Kuiper, Sheldon Gant, and Jimmy DeWaard each tallied hits in the loss.


Winner Demons 10, Four Corners 9

HAYES — Ethan Bartels’ 11 strikeouts held off a late Four Corners comeback, earning Winner a Pony Hills League victory Sunday.

Bartels tossed 6.2 innings of relief, issuing five runs on nine hits and one walk, striking out 11 to earn the victory on the mound for Winner.

Landon Calhoon paced the Winner offense batting 2-for-3 with two walks and three RBIs, Justin Hausman tallied two hits, two walks, and an RBI, Pierce Nelson, Casey Heenan, Bartels, and Bryce Bohnet each drove in a run on one hit, while Kayleb Brozik and Ashton Klein each tallied hits in the victory.

For Four Corners, Garrett Stout took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing six runs on four hits and eight walks, striking out eight batters.

Sam Hand tallied two hits, a double and a homer, driving in three runs, Noah Hainy tallied two hits and an RBI, while Stout, Andrew McCloud, and Jack Van Camp each drove in a run on one hit, including a solo homer by Van Camp.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 11, Flandreau Blue Teal 10

FLANDREAU — Blake Svoboda drove in four runs during a comeback victory against the Flandreau Blue Teal Sunday.

Svoboda batted 2-for-4 with a walk and double, driving in four runs throughout, Briggs Havlik drove in two runs on a double and three walks, Joe Hanisch and Cam Quigley each tallied two hits, while Devon Garry, Adam Hentges, Chad Morrison, and Tyler Lundborg each tallied hits in the victory.

Briggs Havlik earned the victory on the mound in five innings of relief, issuing just one run on four hits, striking out one batter.

For Flandreau, Ethan Johnson took the loss in one inning on the mound, allowing five runs on five hits, and a walk.

Kolby Peters and Michael Witte each tallied four hits, including a double and an RBI by Peters, and three RBIs by Witte. Johnson drove in two runs on one hit, Gage Sharping tallied an RBI on two hits, including a double, while Tanner Christensen, Paul Mc Glone, and Sam Gassman each tallied hits in the loss for the Blue Teal.


Plankinton F&M Bankers 8, Colome Chaos 6

PLANKINTON — Devin Mehlhaff struck out 14 batters in a Pony Hills League victory over Colome Sunday.

Mehlhaff tossed all nine innings for the Bankers, issuing six runs on 11 hits and one walk, striking out 14 to earn the victory on the mound.

Blaine Bohr tallied three RBIs on a double, Cain Tobin and Griffin Tobin each drove in two runs on one hit, Kane Knudson stove in a run on one hit, while Thomas Stange and Hunter Pranger each tallied three hits in the victory, including two doubles by Stange.

For Colome, Joey Cole took the loss in three innings on the mound, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk, striking out five.

Carter Dye drove in two runs on a homer, Jay Skogerboe tallied an RBI on three hits, including two doubles, Cole, Carter Brickman, and Riley Orel each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Brickman, Matt Engelmann crack two hits, while Eli and Ethan Vobr each tallied hits in the loss for the Chaos.


Dell Rapids PBR 11, Colman Argali 4

COLMAN — Dell Rapids’ offense exploded for 19 hits in a Cornbelt League victory over the Colman A’s Sunday.

Drew Sweeter led the offense batting 3-for-6 with a double, triple, and five RBIs, Trey Randel drove in two runs on three hits, including a double, Weston Hansen and Matt Gillogly each collected three hits and an RBI, including a double by Hansen, Conner Spindler tallied three hits in six at-bats, Riley Hoffman drove in a run on one hit, while Beau Behrend tallied two hits in the win as well.

Joe Rechtenbaugh earned the victory on the mound for Dell Rapids in six shutout innings, allowing three hits and seven walks, striking out three batters.

For Colman, Ian Barker took the loss in seven innings of work, allowing seven runs on 14 hits and a walk, striking out eight.

Chase Dewitt drove in three runs on two hits, including a homer, Chris Meyer drove in a run on a walk, while Chris Burke, Paul Clark, Dylan Reinhardt, and Jesse Baumberger each tallied hits in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 14, Northville Merchants 2 (7 innings)

REDFIELD — Redfield pounded 14 hits during a Northern Plains League victory over Northville Sunday.

Christian DeYoung drove in five runs on two hits, including a double and a home run, Owen Osborn drove in two runs on a double, Nolan Gall collected three hits, a triple, and an RBI, Cooper Hainy and Bennett Osborn each drove in a run on two hits, including a double by Osborn, while Camden Osborn tallied two hits in the victory as well.

Gall earned the victory on the mound for Redfield, allowing two runs on four hits and nine walks, striking out three batters.

For Northville, Bryan Weber took the loss, issuing 14 runs on 14 hits and three walks, striking out two batters in 6.2 innings.

Greg Heyne tallied two hits and a walk in the loss for the Merchants, while Ethan Beyers drove in a run on one hit.


Salem Cubs 11, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 5

HUMBOLDT — Tyler Earls struck out six batters as Salem picked up a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Earls scattered 11 hits, allowed one earned run and walked three batters in the 125-pitch complete-game performance. Earls added one hit. 

Bobby Koepsell and Jon Forster finished with two hits. Koepsell drove in three runs. Kyle Braun, Jacob Vonberge, Avery Feterl, Peyton Cleveland, Luke Loudenburg and Isaac Anderson all had hits. Anderson drove in three runs. 

For the Wood Ducks, Braden Herr finished with three hits and drove in a run. Logan Larson and Camden McDonald had two hits apiece. Brayden Odegaard took the loss, allowing seven hits, six earned runs, two walks and had zero strikeouts in 3.1 innings. 


Alexandria Angels 12, Parkston Devil Rays 0 (7 innings)

ALEXANDRIA — Jerrod Zens collected five RBIs as Alexandria dominated in a Sunshine League victory Sunday.
Zens batted 2-for-2 with two walks, two doubles, and five RBIs, Jordan Gau batted 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs, Tyson Gau and Pierce Smith each drove in two runs on a double, while Peyton Smith and Jacob Giles each tallied hits in the victory.

Ethan Davis earned the victory on the mound for Alexandria, issuing just three hits in six innings of work, striking out nine batters.

For Parkston, Adam Doering took the loss in 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks.

Seth Muth, Jonah Schmidt, and Max Scott each tallied hits in the loss for the Devil Rays.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 13, Mount Vernon Mustangs 6

WINNER — Austin Calhoon drove in six runs during a Sunshine League victory over Mount Vernon Sunday.

Calhoon batted 2-for-3 with a walk and a grandslam, driving in a combined six runs, Reed Harter drove in two runs on three hits, including a double and a home run, Austin Richey tallied three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Aiden Barfuss launched a solo home run along with drawing two walks, Dillon Lambley collected two hits and an RBI, while Drew DeMers and JJ Farner each tallied hits in the win, including a double by DeMers.

Farner earned the victory on the mound for the Pheasants, issuing four runs on four hits and seven walks in six innings, striking out two batters.

For Mount Vernon, Bradley Dean took the loss in 6.1 innings pitched, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits, four walks, and four hit-by-pitches, striking out four batters.

Luke Tiesler tallied three hits and two RBIs to pace the Mustang offense, Walker Hultgren tallied two hits on five at-bats, Chase Hetland drove in a run on one hit, while Brady Albrecht tallied a hit in the loss as well.


Groton Locke Electric 9, Faulkton Hitmen 5

FAULKTON — Four Groton batters finished with multiple hits as it defeated Faulkton in Northern Plains League action Sunday.

Ty Sieber and Brian Hansen each tallied three hits in the win, including a double, triple, and RBI by Sieber and two additional RBIs by Hansen. Ben Althoff and Bradin Althoff combined for four hits, a double, and three RBIs, while Dylan Frey tallied a hit in the victory as well.

Austin Jones earned the victory on the mound for Groton, allowing two runs on two hits and seven walks, striking out three.

For Faulkton, Gunnar Brueggman took the loss in nine innings pitched, issuing nine runs on 11 hits and three walks, striking out 11 batters.

Bennett Cassens tallied two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Brueggman drove in a run on a double and three walks, Parker Geditz tallied a double, while Ryan Engle and Tyler Cunningham each had an RBI on four combined walks.


Elkton Snappers 11, Ramona Express 1 (8 innings)

RAMONA — Elkton racked up 15 hits and RBIs during an Eastern Dakota League victory over Ramona Sunday.

Dylan Gillespie, Charles Harming, and Billy Stuefen led the Elkton offense combining for six RBIs on seven hits, including two doubles by Gillespie and a homer by Stuefen. Brady Steffen drove in a run on two hits, including a double, Aidan Stewart drove in a run on a hit and a walk, Aiden Erickson tallied two hits, while Dylan Kuehl, Eli Mork, and Logan Kuehl each tallied hits in the victory.

Jordan Beck earned the win on the mound for the Snappers, allowing one run on five hits and four walks, striking out four batters in five innings.

For Ramona, Kadyn Gehrels took the loss in three innings pitched, issuing seven runs on eight hits and a walk.

Taylor Bult tallied two hits, while Connor Libis, Casey Renaas, Jeremiah Hoekman, Gehrels, and Justin Casanova each tallied hits in the loss.


Freeman Blacksox 5, Irene Cardinals 4 (7 innings)

FREEMAN — Trey Christensen’s complete game on the mound helped Freeman defeat Irene in South Central League action Sunday.

Christensen issued four runs on eight hits and a walk for Freeman, striking out six batters in seven innings on the mound.

Jackson Fiegen tallied three hits and a walk, driving in one run for the Blacksox, Christensen drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Mitch Wollmann, Chet Peterson, and Sam Gillespie each tallied one hit and one RBI. Lee Scherschligt tallied two hits, while Jake Weier tallied a hit in the win as well.

For Irene, Preston Gall took the loss in six innings on the mound, allowing  five runs on 11 hits and a walk, striking out nine batters.

Dashel Spurrell drove in a run on two hits, Marcus VanDriel tallied two doubles, Tate Gale and Garrett Jorgensen each drove in a run on one hit, while Mike King and Cole Edberg each tallied hits in the loss for the Cardinals.


Freeman Blacksox 11, Irene Cardinals 1 (6 innings)

FREEMAN — Freeman collected 12 runs and eight RBIs in South Central League victory over Irene Sunday.

Rocky Ammann, Jake Weier, Evan Scharberg, and Trey Christensen each tallied two hits in the victory, with Scharberg driving in a run and Christensen driving in two runs. Jonah Hofer and Jackson Fiegen each drove in two runs on one hit, including a double by Hofer, Chet Peterson tallied a double and an RBI, while Lee Scheschlight tallied a double in the win as well.

Fiegen took the victory on the mound, tossing all six innings for the Blacksox, allowing one run on three hits and a walk, striking out four.

For Irene, Cole Edberg took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing nine runs on nine hits and three walks, striking out four.

Garrett Jorgenson drove in a run on one hit, while Marcus VanDriel and Edberg each tallied hits in the loss.


Yankton Tappers 6, Crofton Blue Jays 3 (Neb.)

YANKTON — Yankton’s four-run eighth-inning helped the Tappers stun Crofton in South Central League play Sunday.

Will Rauch, Joe Gokie, Josh Sheldon, and Mac Ryken each tallied two hits in the win, including an RBI by Sheldon, Colin Zahrbock drove in two runs on a hit, Kade Sudbeck tallied an RBI on one hit, while N Strizek cracked a double in the victory.

Gokie earned the victory on the mound for the Tappers, allowing one hit and one walk in three shutout innings, striking out four batters.

For Crofton, Zach Hegge took the loss in 7.2 innings pitched, issuing six runs on 11 hits and a walk, striking out eight batters.

Justin Potts tallied two hits and an RBI, James Kaiser tallied one hit and an RBI, while Hegge cracked a hit in the loss as well.


Lesterville Broncs 4, Menno Mad Frogs 3

LESTERVILLE — Lesterville racked up 13 hits as the Broncs earned a South Central League victory over Menno Sunday.

Andy Dollerschell led the Lesterville offense with three hits and two RBIs, Tyler Edler, Michael Drotzmann, and Garret Damico each tallied two hits, including a double by Damico, Hunter Martin drove in a run on one hit, while Derek Quame and Ethan Wishon each tallied a hit in the victory.

Alex Wagner earned the victory on the mound for Lesterville, issuing two hits over two innings of relief, striking out five.

For Menno, Ajay Herrboldt took the loss in two innings on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks.

Herrboldt collected three hits at the plate for Menno, Austin Pillsbury tallied a two-run homer, Conner Merriam drove in a run on one hit, Spencer Schultz tallied two hits, including a double, while Dylan Lehr, Macon Oplinger, and Brayden Sattler each tallied hits in the loss.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 7, Tabor Bluebirds 6

TABOR — Landon Wieseler, Jaelen Wieseler, and Scott Morrison drove in all seven runs as Wynot defeated Tabor in South Central League action Sunday.

Landon Wieseler batted 4-for-4 with a walk, double, and two RBIs, Jaelen Wieseler batted 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs, while Scott Morrison tallied a hit, walk, and three RBIs. Peyton Wieseler tallied two hits while Ryan Heimes tallied a double in the win as well.

Jackson Sudbeck and Jaelen Wieseler combined for the victory on the mound, Sudbeck tossed the first seven innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out six. Wieseler closed the game not allowing a baserunner over the final two innings.

For Tabor, Riley Rothschadl and Bryce Scieszinski combined for the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits and four walks, striking out 11.

Rothschadl and Sam Caba each tallied two hits and an RBI, Chase Kortan drove in two runs on a double, Beau Rothschadl tallied a hit and an RBI, while Jared Miller tallied two hits, including a double, in the loss as well.


Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 15, Parker Ringnecks 4 (5 innings)

PARKER — Zach Shrank, Wyatt Adams, and Tate Reiner drove in a combined six runs during a State Line League victory over Parker Sunday.

Shrank batted 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Adams drove in two runs on one hit and two walks, while Reiner batted 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Brett Duncan drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Camden Berndt tallied one RBI on one hit and one walk.

Duncan and Berndt combined for the victory on the mound for LCW, allowing four runs on nine hits and a walk, striking out eight batters across five innings pitched.

For Parker, Sawyer Bicknase took the loss in 3.1 innings, issuing 15 runs on eight hits and six walks, striking out three batters.

Austin Clarke, Ashton Ross, and Shawn Michael each drove in a run on one hit while Jevin Erickson and Geoff Dunkelberger each tallied two hits in the loss.


Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 22, Parker Ringnecks 0 (3 innings)

PARKER — Camden Berndt drove in six runs during a State Line League victory over Parker Sunday afternoon.

Berndt batted 3-for-3 with a walk, double, and triple, Wyatt Adams drove in five runs on three hits and a walk, including a homer, Levi Parker and Cody Thompson each drove in two three runs on two hits and a walk, including a double by Parker, Brett Duncan drive in two runs on two hits, while Tate Reiner and Nathan Kucera each tallied two hits and an RBI, including a double by Reiner, while Zach Shrank drove in a run on two walks in the win as well.

Shrank earned the victory on the mound for LCW, tallying just one hit allowed in three shutout innings, striking out four batters.

For Parker, Justin Brehmer took the loss allowing 22 runs on 18 hits and seven walks.

Geoff Dunkelberger tallied the only hit in the loss for Parker.

 

Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 10, Baltic River Dawgs 6

BALTIC — Trevor Hurley collected three hits in an amateur baseball victory over the Baltic River Dawgs Sunday.

Hurley batted 3-for-6, including a double and a triple, driving in two runs, Kyle Gulbrandson drove in a run on two hits, Damon Baruth collected two RBIs on three walks, while Zach Dibble, Jack Simonsen, Connor Hurley, and Jaden Holzer each tallied an RBI on one hit.

Seth Peterson earned the victory on the mound for Sioux Falls, tossing five shutout innings of relief, allowing just three hits while striking out nine batters.

For Baltic, Jon Wilhelmsen took the loss, issuing four runs on three hits and five walks in 4.2 innings, striking out five batters.

Myles Rees tallied two hits, Wilhelmson drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, Beau Kieth drove in a run on one hit, while Riley Schultz and Ty Schafer each tallied hits in the loss.
