Lincoln East (Neb.) 5, Rapid City Post 22 2

SHAKOPEE — A four-run first inning ended Rapid City Post 22’s run in the Round of 8 at the Gopher Classic Monday.

Rowan Fredrickson took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings, striking out four. Wyatt Reeder drove in a run on three hits, Kain McLeod added an RBI on one hit while Jackson Reeder and Josh Elder each collected two hits in the loss.


Sartell (Minn.) 6, Rapid City Post 320 5

BLOOMINGTON — Rapid City Post 320 fell short in the Round of 16 in Monday’s Gopher Classic action.

Max Speed drove in two runs on three hits, including two doubles for Post 320, Colton Mehlhaff added an RBI double while Ayden Byrd and Noah Wald each had hits in the loss. Nolan Williamson surrendered six runs on six hits and three walks in six innings, striking out three.


Rapid City Post 22 17, Papillion (Neb.) 0 (3 innings)

SHAKOPEE — Six different Hardhats drove in multiple runs as Rapid City Post 22 defeated Papillion, Nebraska, in the Round of 16 at the Gopher Classic Monday.

Carter Johnson led the scoring with four RBIs on two hits, Josh Elder added a three RBI double, Wyatt Reeder drove in three runs on two hits, including a homer, Aiden Roberts and Lars Kieffer each drove in two runs on two hits, Jackson Reeder collected three hits and two RBIs, while Dawson Inhofer drove in a run on two hits in the win. McCoy Rippentrop took the win tossing two shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out four.


Redfield 3, Lake Norden/Badger 1

REDFIELD — Hunter Binger tossed six shutout innings in Redfield’s narrow victory over Lake Norden/Badger Monday.

Binger allowed just three hits and three walks in six shutout innings, striking out six to take the win. Jackson Rude had two RBIs on two hits in the win as well.

For Lake Norden/Badger, Rylan Thue allowed three runs on three hits and two walks in four innings, striking out six. Thue added two hits at the plate while Caleb Drenth drove in a run on a double in the last inning.


Volga 7, Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 2

MENNO — Volga pounded out 12 hits as it ran away with a Legion baseball victory over Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota Monday.

Braden Danzeisen and Tate Steffensen each drove in two runs on two hits, Levi Loban added three hits and an RBI, Ethan Axtell recorded an RBI on a hit and a walk, Bret Milton totaled two hits while Isaac Skovlund added two walks and an RBI in the win. Danzeisen took the victory on the mound in 5.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits and four walks while striking out five.

For SMFC, Easton Miller took the loss, surrendering four runs on six hits and two walks in four innings, striking out four. Bryce Sattler and Riley Gall each had two hits while Kory Keppen drove in a run on a walk in the loss.


Dakota Valley 11, Crofton (Neb.) 1 (5 innings)

CROFTON — Dakota Valley pounded out 11 hits as it earned a mercy rule victory over Crofton, Nebraska, in Legion action Monday.

Jackson Shoulders drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Jack Jones added two RBIs on one hit, Vincent Hoffman had two hits, one double, while Grady Ramos, Noah Graham, Jack Weise, Sterling Schauff and Jake Pick each drove in a run on one hit in the win. Graham earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on four hits and one walk in 3.1 innings, striking out six.


Madison (Minn.) 17, Castlewood 5 (6 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — An 11-run first inning separated Madison, Minnesota, from Castlewood in Legion action Monday.

Cooper Thue took the loss for Castlewood, allowing 11 runs on five hits and six walks in one inning pitched. Jaren Eidson tallied an RBI on one hit and one walk, Kaden Nedved totaled an RBI walk while Kolby Davis recorded one hit and one walk in the loss.
