Yankton 4, Sioux Falls East 3 (11 innings)

YANKTON — Gavin Johnson’s RBI single powered Yankton to a walk-off win in 11 innings during Tuesday’s Legion baseball action.

Johnson tallied one hit and one RBI in the win, Easton Feser added two RBIs on two hits, Tate Beste tallied an RBI, Matthew Sheldon recorded two hits while Trey Sager, Evan Serck and Sam Gokie each recorded a hit in the win. Beste took the win in three shutout innings of relief, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out one.

For Sioux Falls East, Ethan Olson allowed one unearned run on three hits and a walk in five innings, striking out five. Brody Schafer tallied three hits, Colin Lunders totaled two RBIs while Jens McLarty tallied two hits in the loss.


Sisseton 6, Big Stone City 4

BIG STONE CITY — Sisseton collected nine hits as it took game one of a Legion double header with Big Stone City Tuesday.

Hughin Current drove in two runs on one hit, Rory Current and Rylan Anderson each had an RBI on one hit, Levi Nelson recorded two hits while Bradley Hansen tallied an RBI in the win as well. LJ Crooks took the victory on the mound in five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks, striking out seven.

For BSC, Isaac Brown allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out three. Connor Ohm had two hits, a walk and an RBI, Carter Lee drove in two runs on a double and a walk, Brown recorded an RBI single while Kirby Olson tallied two hits, one triple, in the loss.


Sisseton 6, Big Stone City 3 (3 innings)

BIG STONE CITY — Hughin Current drove in four runs as Sisseton swept BSC in a Legion double header Tuesday.

Current drove in four runs on two hits, one double, LJ Crooks added two RBIs on a single while Rylan Anderson had two hits in the win. Carter Strickland took the victory on the mound in two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three.

For BSC, Cadyn Vanderwal allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk in three innings, striking out three. Ashton Sletten tallied an RBI single while Connor Danielson drove in a run on a sac-fly in the loss.


Dell Rapids 6, Colton 0 (4 innings)

COLTON — Tad Tjaden drove in four runs and struck out seven batters as Dell Rapids defeated Colton in a shortened Legion baseball game Tuesday.

Tjaden batted 2-for-3 with four RBIs while tossing three shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk, striking out seven. Cole Ruesink and Drake Eastman each tallied an RBI on one hit while Lincoln Fersdahl tallied two hits in the win.

For Colton, Carter Sorenson allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings, striking out two. Landon Schenkel tallied the only hit of the game in the loss.


Groton 13, Milbank 10

MILBANK — Alex Abeln drove in four runs as Groton defeated Milbank in Legion action Tuesday.

Abeln drove in four runs on two hits in the win, Nick Morris collected two hits, a walk and two RBIs, Brevin Fliehs tallied three RBIs on a triple and a walk, while Teylor Diegel, Korbin Kucker, Carter Simon and Braxton Imrie each tallied an RBI single in the win. Kucker took the victory on the mound in three innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks, striking out six.

For Milbank, Josh Pederson took the loss, surrendering four runs on three hits and five walks in two innings. Reese Rabe tallied three hits and an RBI, Mason Meister drove in five runs on two hits, one triple, while Jayce Jonasen tallied an RBI on two hits in the loss.


Dakota Valley 7, Wakefield (Neb.) 1

WAKEFIELD — Grady Ramos struck out 11 batters as Dakota Valley shut down Wakefield, Nebraska, in Legion action Tuesday.

Ramos allowed one run on three hits and two walks in a complete game outing, striking out 11 to earn the win. Ramos, Jackson Shoulders and Sterling Schauff each tallied an RBI on two hits while Jack Wiese drove in a run in the win.


Renner Royals 6, Sioux Falls West 0

RENNER — Brody Jacobson nearly went the distance on the mound as Renner shutout Sioux Falls West in Legion action Tuesday.

Jacobson tossed 6.2 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and six walks while striking out eight to earn the win on the mound. Rylan Arbogast drove in two runs on three hits, a double, and a walk, Jacobson collected two hits and two RBIs, Brogan Moffit tallied two hits while Jack Stukel totaled an RBI single in the win.

For Sioux Falls West, Noah Macfarlane allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks in 4.2 innings, striking out three. Mason Payne and Jacob Dunn each tallied hits in the loss.


Watertown 3, Brookings 0

WATERTOWN — Kaden Rylance tossed 11 strikeouts in Watertown’s Legion baseball win over Brookings Tuesday.

Rylance allowed just two hits and three walks in 6.1 innings, striking out 11 to take the win on the mound. Despite getting no-hit by Brookings, Hayden Ries and Johnathan Lake each tallied RBIs in the win.

For Brookings, Breck Wilson took the loss despite throwing six no-hit innings, allowing three runs on five walks while striking out three. Tre Christopherson and Cooper Schneider each tallied hits in the loss.


Spearfish 4, Casper (Wyo.) 1

SPEARFISH — Spearfish struck for four runs in the sixth inning to stun Casper, Wyoming, in game one of a Legion double header Tuesday.

Walker Viessman tallied two RBIs on one hit and Jack Scharf recorded an RBI single in the win. Jack Branum tossed 2.2 innings, allowing one hit while striking out two.


Casper (Wyo.) 13, Spearfish 3 (5 innings)

SPEARFISH — Spearfish surrendered 12 runs in the last three frames to split Tuesday’s Legion double header with Casper, Wyoming.

Sean Sewell and Tucker Olson each drove in a run on two hits, including solo home runs from both Sewell and Olson. Cooper Chase tallied an RBI in the loss as well. Riley Feyereisen allowed six runs on two hits and six walks in 1.1 innings, striking out one.
