Watertown 11, Sturgis 1 (6 innings)

STURGIS — Hayden Ries, Mitch Olson and Markus Pitkin each tallied two RBIs in Watertown’s win over Sturgis Thursday.

Ries drove in two runs on two walks, Olson added two RBIs on two hits, a double and a walk, while Pitkin tallied two RBIs on a triple in the win. Nathan Briggs drove in a run on one hit in the win as well. Cain Everson took the win on the mound in six innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out five.

For Sturgis, Brody Royer allowed 11 runs on nine hits and five walks in five innings, striking out four. Dalyn Dschaak, Ethan Cermak and Landon Lyons each tallied a hit in the loss.


Watertown 17, Sturgis 7

STURGIS — Watertown used three big innings to pick up a Legion baseball win over Sturgis on Thursday. The Arrows scored four runs apiece in the first and fifth innings, along with six in the sixth inning to help secure the win. 

Watertown’s Mitch Olson, Nathan Briggs and Kaden Rylance drove in three runs apiece. Carter Buisker and Max Dylla drove in two runs apiece. Treyton Himmerich had a team-high three hits. Hayden Ries and Markus Pitkin added hits. Ashton Rabine struck out three batters, allowed eight hits, five earned runs and four walks in 4.1 innings for the win. 

For Sturgis, Kjell Sundstrom finished with two doubles and drove in three runs. Brody Royer and George Hamer had two hits and each drove in a run. Jeren Andrzejewski took the loss after allowing three hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out one batter in three innings. 


Volga 18, Castlewood 2

CASTLEWOOD — Bret Milton drove in four runs as Volga took down Castlewood in Legion action Thursday.

Milton tallied four RBIs on two doubles, Jake Burns added three hits and two RBIs, Levi Loban collected three RBIs on two hits, Braden Danzeisen tallied four hits, a walk and an RBI, Isaac Skovlund totaled two hits, a walk, and an RBI, while Kam Hauck drew four walks, driving in a run in the win. Burns earned the victory on the mound in four innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out five.

For Castlewood, Kolby Davis allowed four runs on three hits and four walks in one inning. Jarin Eidson and Mason Kimball each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Dakota Valley 4, Colton 3

COLTON — Dakota Valley cut down the tying run at home to clip Colton in Legion action Thursday.

Noah Graham earned the victory on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out six. Grady Ramos and Graham each drove in a run on one hit while Tate Cornelson tallied two hits in the win.

For Colton, Tristen Bunde allowed four runs on six hits and four walks in four innings of work, striking out five. Alex Wingen drove in two runs on two hits while Brody Dybvig added an RBI in the loss.


Vermillion 13, Elk Point-Jefferson 3 (6 innings)

VERMILLION — Jack Moskowitz tossed six strong innings as Vermillion earned a mercy rule victory over Elk Point-Jefferson Thursday.

Moskowitz allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in six innings, striking out seven in the win. Connor Peterson drove in two runs on three hits, including a home run in the win, Mikey Roob tallied an RBI on two hits and a walk, Corbin Heckens recorded two RBIs, Teddy Nesmith added two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Moskowitz tallied an RBI on one hit and one walk in the win.

EPJ’s Wyatt Herrity allowed four runs on two hits and two walks in two innings, striking out one in the losing effort. Luke Swatek tallied an RBI on two hits while Ashton Fairbanks added three hits in the loss.


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 10, Redfield 0 (5 innings)

NORTHVILLE — Xavier Kadlec tossed five shutout innings as Warner/Ipswich/Northville shutout Redfield in Legion action Thursday.

Kadlec allowed one hit and three walks in five innings, striking out three in the win. Devon Fischbach drove in three runs on a hit, Kadlec added two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Chays Mansfield, Jacob Schmitt and Lincoln Kroll each drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Redifeld, Kevin Weller took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits and six walks in 3.2 innings, striking out two. Tate Bray tallied the only hit of the game for Redfield.


Sioux Falls East 7, Rapid City Post 320 0

SIOUX FALLS — Dietrich Haan tossed a one-hitter as Sioux Falls East defeated Rapid City Post 320 in Legion action Thursday.

Haan allowed one hit and three walks in a complete game shutout, striking out two. Colin Lunders batted 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Ethan Olson and Haan each drove in a run on one hit, while Brayden Olson tallied an RBI in the win.

For RC, Kason Kostenbauer allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings, striking out two. Ayden Byrd tallied the only hit of the game for Post 320.


Rapid City Post 320 9, Sioux Falls East 7

SIOUX FALLS — Rapid City Post 320 clipped Sioux Falls East to split the Legion double header Thursday.

Ayden Byrd tallied three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Tegan Sayles and Colton Mehlhaff each drove in a run on two hits while Max Speed added an RBI on a triple and a walk. Alijah Ballard allowed two runs on two hits and three walks in four innings, striking out five.

For SF, Cade Whiting allowed five unearned runs on three hits and three walks in 3.2 innings. Colin Lunders tallied two doubles and two RBIs, Dietrich Haan and Caden Sparrer each tallied an RBI on one hit and one walk while Brady Schafer totaled two hits in the loss.


Rapid City Post 22 13, Sioux Falls West 2 (6 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Jackson Reeder and Lars Kieffer each drove in three runs as Rapid City Post 22 beat Sioux Falls West in Legion action Thursday.

Reeder batted 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs, Kieffer had three hits, a double, and three RBIs, Jace Morgan had two RBIs on two hits and two walks, Wyatt Reeder tallied three hits and an RBI while Dawson Inhofer collected two hits, including a triple, in the win. McCoy Rippentrop allowed two runs on three hits and five walks in six innings to take the win, striking out seven.

For SF, Chris Logue allowed 10 runs on seven hits and five walks in 2.1 innings, striking out two. Jaxson Nordstrom drove in a run on one hit and a walk in the loss.


Rapid City Post 22 12, Sioux Falls West 4

SIOUX FALLS — Wyatt Reeder tallied five RBIs as Rapid City Post 22 swept Sioux Falls West in Legion action.

Reeder tallied five RBIs on a double, triple and a walk, Jace Morgan and Dawson Inhofer each drove in a run on three hits, Jackson Reeder added an RBI single while Aiden Roberts recorded two RBIs on a hit and a walk in the win. Declan Mickley allowed two runs on two hits and three walks in five innings, striking out eight.

For Sioux Falls, Hugh Barnes allowed seven runs on five hits and four walks. Mason Payne drove in a run on one hit, while Chirs Logue and Noah MacFarlane drove in a combined three runs on four walks in the loss.


Yankton 9, Renner Royals 8

RENNER — Easton Feser tallied three RBIs as Yankton clipped Renner in Legion Action Thursday.

Feser drove in three runs on three hits, including two doubles, Gavin Johnson added two RBIs on two hits while Owen Wishon had two RBIs on one hit. Beck Ryken recorded an RBI on a walk in the win as well. Boston Frick took the win on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in 6.1 innings, striking out eight.

For Renner, Rylan Arbogast took the loss, surrendering six runs on six hits and five walks in 3.2 innings, striking out three. Brogan Moffit drove in two runs on two hits, Jackson Bjorkman drove in a run on two hits, Patrick Barnett added an RBI on one hit and one walk, Alex Jaspers tallied two RBIs on one hit, while Jack Stukel had an RBI on a hit and two walks in the loss.


Yankton 6, Renner Royals 5

RENNER — Yankton clipped Renner to sweep the Royals in Legion action Thursday.

Kael Garry earned the win on the mound in five shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out six. Gavin Johnson, Tate Beste and Garry each drove in a run on one hit while Evan Serck tallied two hits and an RBI in the win.

For Renner, Jackson Bjorkman took the loss, surrendering six runs on six hits and three walks, striking out six in 5.1 innings. Brogan Moffit drove in three runs on a double, Brody Jacobson collected an RBI on one hit while Jack Stukel tallied two hits in the loss.


Brandon Valley 5, Pierre 3

BRANDON — Brandon Valley scored three runs in the final two frames to stun Pierre in Legion action Thursday.

Ryland Carrol drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Bryton Stroh added two RBIs on a single while Max Peters collected an RBI walk. Luke Felderman took the win in 0.2 innings of relief.

For Pierre, JJ Bucholz allowed four runs on two hits and six walks in five innings, striking out two. Sutton Sonnenschein tallied two RBIs on a double while Cooper Terwilliger drove in a run on a double and a walk in the loss.


Pierre 3, Brandon Valley 1

BRANDON — Will Danburg shutdown the Brandon Valley offense as Pierre split the Legion double header Thursday.

Danburg tossed all seven innings for Pierre, allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out eight. Ridge Leimbach drove in a run on two hits while Hudson Stoeser tallied two hits in the win.

Brayden Knutson took the loss for BV, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk in two innings of relief, striking out three. Max Peters tallied three hits, a double, and an RBI in the loss.


Aberdeen 8, Spearfish 0

SPEARFISH — Joran Foss drove in four runs as Aberdeen earned a Legion baseball victory over Spearfish Thursday.

Foss tallied four RBIs on two hits, including a double, homer and a walk, Ridley Waldo tallied two hits and two RBIs while Jehiel Aviles and Jaxon Ladner each tallied two hits in the win. Michael Dutenhoff tossed four shutout innings of relief, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out seven.

For Spearfish, Jack Branum allowed eight runs on 10 hits and two walks in a complete game, striking out four. Aiden Meverden tallied two hits in the loss for Spearfish.


Aberdeen 8, Spearfish 3

SPEARFISH — Seven Aberdeen players produced 12 hits in a Legion baseball victory on Thursday.

Aberdeen’s Karson Borge finished with three hits and drove in two runs. Grant Beyer added two hits and drove in three runs. Lance Siefken and Joe Cogley had two hits apiece. Cogley drove in a run. Jehiel Aviles and Ridley Waldo both drove in runs. Bennett Eisenbeisz allowed seven hits, three earned runs, four walks and struck out zero batters in 6.2 innings for the win.

For Spearfish, Brock Lewis and Walker Viessman finished with two hits apiece. Viessman drove in a run. Sean Sewell also drove in a run. Sewell allowed nine hits, five earned runs, four walks and struck out zero batters in five innings.
