Kimball/White Lake Nationals 3, Chamberlain Mallards 2

CHAMBERLAIN — Ethan Price struck out 10 batters as Kimball/White Lake clipped Chamberlain in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Price tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while fanning 10 batters to take the win on the mound. Jaxon Christensen tallied two RBIs on one hit while Caleb Crist added an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Chamberlain, Mike Schwartz took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out four. Ryan Covelans drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Schwartz added a double in the loss.


Lake Norden Lakers 4, Clark Traders 3

LAKE NORDEN — Kale Stevenson struck out 15 batters in Lake Norden’s win over Clark Sunday.

Stevenson allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks in nine innings of work, striking out 15 in the win. Jordon Johnson drove in a run on two hits, including a solo home run, while Cristian Rodriguez launched a two-run home run in the win.

For Clark, Zach Toben took the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits in eight innings, striking out seven. Zach Winter tallied two hits and a walk, including a solo homer, Grayson Florey and Toben each tallied two hits while Andrew Magedanz drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Wessington Springs Owls 5, Burke Bombers 1 (7 innings)

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — A five-run second inning was the difference as Wessington Springs took game one of a Pony Hills League doubleheader Sunday against Burke.

Trevor Kenobbie tallied two RBIs on one hit, Cade Mohling batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Mason Schelske added an RBI single in the win. Parker DeJean earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on three hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out seven.

For Burke, Hunter Van Niewenhuyse allowed five runs on six hits and four walks in six innings, striking out nine batters. Blake Boes led the Bombers at the plate with a solo home run in the loss.


Burke Bombers 6, Wessington Springs Owls 5 (7 innings)

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Hunter Van Niewenhuyse’s RBI single powered Burke to a walk-off win over Wessington Springs in the second half of a Pony Hills League double header Sunday.

Van Niewenhuyse drove in a run on a hit and a walk, Sawyer Tietgen had three hits, Ben Witt tallied an RBI on two hits while Aaron Sundquist drove in two runs on one hit in the win. Brogan Glover tossed 5.1 innings for Burke, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks, striking out two.

For WS, Parker DeJean allowed four runs on five hits and a walk in 3.2 innings, striking out five. DeJean drove in four runs on two hits, including a fourth inning grand slam, while Schelske tallied two hits in the loss.


Tea Steam 14, Garretson Blue Jays 13 (6 innings)

TEA — A 12-run inning powered Tea back from a 13-0 deficit to stun Garretston in State Line League action Sunday.

Nathan Babb tallied three RBIs on three hits and a walk, Trey Heckenlaible added three RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Dawson Portner added an RBI on a hit and a walk while Troy Ljunggren had two RBIs on a hit and a walk in the win. Carter Doescher took the win on the mound in one shutout inning of relief.

For Garretson, Dustin Steckler started the game on the mound, allowing four hits in two shutout innings, striking out four. Trey Buckenberg tallied five RBIs on three hits, while Dylan Kindt and Scott Splett each had three RBIs on two hits, including a double and homer from Splett in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 13, Estelline Merchants 3 (7 innings)

ELKTON — Elkton scored seven runs in the final two frames to take a mercy rule win over Estelline Sunday.

Dylan Gillespie led the offense with two hits, a walk and three RBIs, Dylan Kuehl added three RBIs on a double, Dave Bierman had two hits and an RBI, Brady Steffen tallied two hits while Owen Cass had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win. Bierman earned the win on the mound in 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits and three walks, striking out four.

For Estelline, Isaac Schulte allowed 13 runs on 11 hits and six walks in 6.1 innings, striking out five. Chayce Schlueter tallied two hits and an RBI, Anthony Johnson had two RBIs on a double, while M Hausman, Jake Peterson, Jesus Jacobo and Regan Schwartz each tallied two hits in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 5, Groton Locke Electric 4

REDFIELD — Bennett Osborn hit a walk-off RBI single to stun Groton in a nine-inning Northern Plains League thriller Sunday.

Osborn finished the game with one hit and one RBI, Cooper Hainy had two RBIs on one hit while Nolan Gall collected two hits in the win. Noah Hainy tossed 5.2 innings for Redfield, allowing three runs on five hits and five walks, striking out four.

For Groton, Ryan Groeblinghoff allowed three runs on three hits and two walks in five innings, striking out three. Alex Morris tallied two hits, Ben Althoff tallied two RBIs on a hit and two walks, Wyatt Locke added two hits and an RBI, while Ty Sieber had an RBI on a hit and two walks in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 7, Groton Locke Electric 4 (7 innings)

GROTON — Redfield pounded out 14 hits as it swept Groton in a Northern Plains League doubleheader Sunday.

Cooper Hainy tallied two RBIs on two hits and a walk, Owen Osborn added a solo home run, Keith Gall tallied an RBI on one hit, Bennett Osborn had two hits while Noah Hainy added three hits in the win. Nolan Gall tossed five innings for Redfield, allowing four runs on three hits and five walks.

For Groton, Jonah Schmidt took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks in four innings, striking out four. Ryan Groeblinghoff tallied two hits, Alex Morris drove in a run on a walk, while Schmidt tallied an RBI double in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 8, Colman A’s 4

COLMAN — Dell Rapids’ Austin Henry tossed four shutout relief innings to shut down Colman in Cornbelt League action.

Henry allowed two hits and a walk in four innings, striking out nine in the win. Treyse Eastman tossed five innings in his start, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out three. Reece Arbogast tallied two hits, a triple, and an RBI, Henry hit a two RBI double, Chad Hunt, Nolan Burchill and Sutton Williams each drove in a run on one hit, while Carter Gullickson and Ty Hoglund each tallied a double and one walk in the win.

For Colman, Chris Burke took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings, striking out four. Chase DeWitt tallied two RBIs on a homer and two walks while Adam Fritz had an RBI on two hits in the loss.


Colome Chaos 9, Winner Demons 8

WINNER — Colome weathered a late storm from Winner as the Chaos earned its first win of the season Sunday.

Kevin Carter took the win on the mound in 8.1 innings, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and six walks, striking out 12. Shea Connot had four hits and one double in the win, Eli Vobr and Carter each drove in a run on one hit, Ethan Vobr and Layton Thieman each drove two runs on two hits, Jake Luse drove in a run on two hits while Joey Cole batted 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs in the win.

For Winner, Justin Hausmann took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits and five walks in 6.1 innings, striking out five. Brady Fritz had three hits, Evan Farner tallied a solo homer and two walks, Ashton Klein drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Kayleb Brozik collected a two RBI single, while Quincy Phillips had an RBI on two hits and two walks in the loss.

 

Brandon Belugas 14, Sioux Falls Brewers 10

SIOUX FALLS — Brandon pounded out 16 hits as it defeated the Sioux Falls Brewers in Sioux Empire League action Sunday.

Jackson Adams and Theo Giedd each tallied two RBIs on three hits, Jaxon Haase tallied three hits, a double, homer and an RBI, Dawson Mork collected two doubles, two walks and an RBI, Charlie Holm, Tyler Sandbult and Lake Terveer each tallied an RBI on one hit, while Nate Meyers added three RBIs on two hits and a walk in the win. Giedd pitched four innings for Brandon, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks in four innings, striking out six to take the win on the mound.

For Sioux Falls, Jacob Glovich took the loss allowing seven runs on eight hits in 1.1 innings. TJ Miller drove in two runs on a hit and two walks, Alejandro Cortina tallied three RBIs on two hits, Trey Malone added two hits, a homer, walk and two RBIs, while Cory Schilling and Ian Strum each had two hits in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 10, Sioux City (Iowa) Futures 4 (8 innings)

SIOUX CITY — Yankton collected 11 hits in the Lakers non-league amateur baseball win over Sioux City, Iowa, Sunday.

Cade Subeck and Waylon McNight each tallied two hits and an RBI, Mitch Gullickson, Todd Rauch and Mac Ryken each collected two RBIs on one hit, while Evan Steiner had two hits in the win.
