Rapid CIty Post 22 14, Spearfish 1 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — An 11-run first inning powered Rapid City Post 22 past Spearfish in game one of a best of three series Wednesday.

Jace Morgan and Wyatt Reeder each drove in three runs on two hits, Blayn Hunt added two hits and an RBI, Aiden Roberts tallied two hits, a double and a walk, Lars Kieffer and Dexter Steen each drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Kain McLeod tallied three hits and an RBI in the win. Declan Mickley tossed two shutout innings to take the win on the mound for Post 22, striking out five.

For Spearfish, Tucker Olson tallied two hits, a double, and an RBI in the loss. Jack Barnum allowed 11 runs on eight hits and three walks in 0.2 innings to take the loss.


Yankton 5, Sturgis 1

YANKTON — Mark Kathol tossed seven strikeouts as Yankton took game one of the three game series with Sturgis Wednesday.

Kathol allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks in a complete game on the mound, striking out seven in the win. Matthew Sheldon had an RBI on three hits, Beck Ryken recorded an RBI on two hits and a walk, while Tate Beste and Trey Sager each drove in a run on one hit in the win.
For Sturgis, Cael Pool allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. Drew Janke tallied an RBI single in the loss for Sturgis.


Huron 8, Pierre 6

PIERRE — A six-run sixth inning pushed Huron to a game one victory over Pierre in a best of three series Wednesday.

Tommie Martin tallied two hits and an RBI, Brady Feenstra collected three RBIs on a double, Oakley Anderson tallied two hits while Layne Wenzel had an RBI in the win. Feenstra allowed six runs on six hits and a walk in 6.2 innings, striking out three to take the win on the mound.

For Pierre, Will Danburg allowed seven runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings, striking out four. Porter Hunsley tallied two RBIs on one hit while Charlie Simpson and Grayson Hunsley each tallied an RBI on one hit in the loss.
