Alexandria Angels 10, Parkston Mudcats 0 (8 innings)

PARKSTON — Ethan Davis’ eight-inning shutout lifted Alexandria to the District 5B semifinals Friday.

Davis gave up just one hit and one walk in eight innings, striking out 11 along the way to earn the victory.

Jerrod Zens drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Tyson Gau hit a two-run homer, Jacob Giles had a double, a walk, and two RBIs, Cole Wenande had an RBI, while Landon Ruesink drove in a run on one hit in the win as well. Tucker Kingsbury and Jordan Gau each had doubles for Alexandria.

For Parkston, Dillon Stadlman took the loss in three innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits and two walks.

Dylan Mogck recorded the only hit of the game for Parkston.


Lesterville Broncs 11, Menno Mad Frogs 6

LESTERVILLE — Lesterville pounded 13 hits as they moved on in the South Central League district tournament Friday.

Ethan Wishon drove in three runs on four hits, including a homer, Michael Drotzmann had two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Derek Quame had two hits, a homer, and an RBI, Trent Herrboldt had one hit, one walk, and one RBI, while Hunter Martin tallied two hits and a walk, including a double.

Dawson Bietz took the victory on the mound allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out four.

For Menno, Doug Hall took the loss allowing eight runs on nine hits in seven innings, fanning four batters.

Conner Merriam batted 4-for-5 with two RBIs, including a double and a homer, Brayden Sattler had two hits and an RBI, Dylan Lehr batted 2-for-4 with a walk, while Nick Ratzloff drove in a run on a walk in the loss as well.


Platte Killer Tomatoes 13, Corsica Horned Frogs 1 (8 innings)

PARKSTON — Platte erupted for 15 hits in a mercy rule victory over Corsica in the District 5B tournament Friday.

Mason Townsend had two hits, a homer, and five RBIs, Hunter Hewitt drove in three runs on two hits, including a double, Dawson Hoffman batted 4-for-5 with an RBI, Grant Doom and Hayden Kuiper each had an RBI on one hit, including a double by Kuiper, while Sheldon Gant drove in a run on two hits and two walks.

Michael Buitenbos earned the victory on the mound for Platte, issuing one run on six hits in seven innings, fanning three batters.

For Corsica, Blake Moke took the loss in 5.1 innings, surrendering seven runs on nine hits and three walks, striking out seven batters.

Aaron Groeneweg had two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Kiefer Johnson, Blake Moke, Brendan Wentland, Nathan Blom, and Logan Bakker each had hits in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 9, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 4

CANOVA — Zak Wallner tossed 12 strikeouts in a Cornbelt League tournament victory over the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks Friday.

Wallner earned the victory on the mound, tossing all nine innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits and a walk, striking out 12 batters.

Keith Cutler and Grant Heib each had two hits and two RBIs, Bret Severtson and Austin Koenig each had two hits and an RBI, Luke Gassman drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while J Patterson and JaColby Anderson each tallied hits, combining for three walks in the victory.

For HH, Logan Larson took the loss allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks, striking out seven in five innings.

Austin King had two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Camden McDonald drove in a run on one hit, CJ DenBoer had two hits, while Brodie Herr, Brayden Odegaard, Chase Vessells, Nathan Adrian, and Gage Nelson each had hits in the loss.


Colman A’s 8, Flandreau Blue Teal 1

CANOVA — Corey Roach tossed 17 strikeouts in a District 4B tournament victory over the Flandreau Blue Teal Friday.

Roach gave up just six hits in nine innings on the mound, striking out 17 batters while batting 3-for-4 at the plate.

Chase Dewitt drove in two runs on one hit, Ian Barker hit an RBI-double, TJ Silliman tallied two hits, a double, and a walk, while Paul Clark and Carter Roach each tallied RBIs in the win.

For Flandreau, Gage Sharping took the loss in six innings on the mound, allowing seven runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out seven.

Mason Riley tallied three hits, Tanner Christensen had two hits, while Sam Gassman hit an RBI-double in the loss.


Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 26, Parker Ringnecks 0 (5 innings)

LARCHWOOD, Iowa — Justin Underwood’s five-inning shutout lifted Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing to a State Line League tournament victory Friday.

Underwood gave up just two base hits in five innings pitched, fanning seven batters to earn the victory.

Nathan Kucera tallied four RBIs on two doubles and a walk, Zach Schrank had three RBIs on a triple and a walk, Brett Duncan and Owen Ludens each had two RBIs on a combined four hits and three walks, while Aaron Strum, Wyatt Adams, and Levi Parker each had one RBI, combining for four hits and three walks in the win.

For Parker, Ashton Ross and Austin Clarke combined for the loss on the mound, allowing 26 runs on 15 hits and 11 walks, striking out six.

Colin Robertson and Clarke each had hits in the loss.
