Kimball/White Lake Nationals 7, Plankinton F&M Bankers 3

COLOME — Ethan Price’s 13 strikeouts powered Kimball/White Lake past Plankinton, advancing to the District 3B championship Sunday.

Price took the win on the mound in 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while tossing 13 strikeouts in the win. Caleb Crist batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Dylan Konechne had two RBIs on two hits while Trent Wookey collected two hits in the win.

For Plankinton, Hunter Pranger allowed three runs on six hits in four innings, striking out five in the loss. Blaine Bohr had two hits, a double and an RBI, while Pranger and Kane Knudson each tallied an RBI on one hit, combining for three walks in the loss.

 

Burke Bombers 12, Four Corners 10

COLOME — A four-run ninth inning pushed Burke to the District 3B championship game Sunday.

Hunter Van Niewenhuyse led the Bombers batting 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, JJ Farner had two RBIs on two hits, Aaron Sundquist tallied two hits, a walk and an RBI, Ben Witt and Sawyer Tietgen each tallied two hits while Dan Jons and Kade Braun each drove in a run on one hit in the win. Brogan Glover took the win on the mound in 1.1 innings of relief, striking out three batters.

For Four Corners, Jack Van Camp struck out 10 batters despite the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings. Andrew Coverdale had three hits and two RBIs, Van Camp added two hits and two RBIs, Andrew McCloud and Justin Lester each had two hits, a double, and an RBI while River Iverson collected two hits in the loss.


Wessington Springs Owls 6, Winner Demons 4

COLOME — Mason Schelske drove in four runs as Wessington Springs eliminated Winner from Pony Hills district tournament action Sunday.

Schelske batted 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Trevor Kenobbie added two doubles, while Parker DeJean and Clay Olinger each had an RBI on one hit in the win. Terrek Butterfield took the win on the mound in 7.2 innings pitched, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks, striking out seven.

For Winner, Evan Farner allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk in eight innings, striking out five. Bill Foote drove in three runs on a homer, while Shane Phillips added an RBI walk in the loss.


Colome Chaos 11, Chamberlain Mallards 8

COLOME — Colome pounded out 19 hits to beat Chamberlain and move on in Pony Hills district tournament action Sunday.

Jake Luse batted 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, Eli Vobr had three hits and two RBIs while Ethan Vobr batted 3-for-4 with five RBIs, Joey Cole collected three hits, a double, walk and an RBI, Shea Connot totaled two hits and an RBI while Layton Thieman had three hits in the win as well. Cole took the win on the mound in 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk, striking out one.

For Chamberlain, Timothy Travis allowed 11 runs on 15 hits in 6.2 innings, striking out seven in the loss. Sandler Wiekamp had four hits, two doubles and two RBIs, Ian Anderson tallied two hits, a walk and an RBI, Travis recorded an RBI on a walk while Dakota Munger totaled two RBIs on two hits, one homer, in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 14, Faulkton Hitmen 1 (7 innings)

FAULKTON — Nolan Gall struck out  14 batters as Redfield advanced to the District 2B championship Sunday.

Gall allowed just one unearned run on three hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out 14 in the win. Brent Osborn drove in four runs on two doubles and a walk, Peyton Osborn had three RBis on two hits, a walk and a homer, Noah Hainy had two RBIs on one hit while Gall, Keaton Rohlfs and Owen Osborn each drove in a run in the win.

For Faulkton, Layne Cotton allowed eight runs on four hits and seven walks in 4.1 innings. Beau Kirsch drove in two runs on one hit in the loss.


Groton Locke Electric 13, Northville Merchants 7

FAULKTON — Alex Morris’ complete game on the mound lifted Groton to the District 2B championship Sunday.

Morris allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks in nine innings, striking out six in the win. Dylan Frey batted 4–for-5 with four RBIs, BJ Richter added three hits, a double, and three RBIs, Brian Hansen totaled two hits and an RBI, Ryan Groeblinghoff collected three hits and an RBI, including a double, while Morris and Ben Althoff each tallied an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Northville, Ben Fischbach allowed four runs on five hits and a walk in 3.1 innings to take the loss. Fischbach also drove in four runs on a double, Kyle Stahl collected two hits and an RBI, Carson Simes and Ashton Remily each tallied an RBI on one hit while Devin Fischbach added two hits in the loss.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 12, Platte Killer Tomatoes 5

MOUNT VERNON — Winner/Colome pounded out 18 hits as the Pheasants advanced back to the District 5B championship game Sunday.

Drew DeMers drove in four runs on three hits and a walk, including a homer, Derek Graesser batted 4-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI, Chandler Bakley recorded three RBIs on three hits, including a homer, Oscar Pravacek had two RBIs on one hit, Austin Calhoon recorded an RBI on a double, while Reed Harter and Kelly O’Bryan each had two hits in the win. Connor Hopkins took the win on the mound in eight innings of work, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk, striking out nine in the win.

For Platte, Michael Buitenbos allowed nine runs on 14 hits and a walk in 6.1 innings, striking out two in the loss. Matt Link hit a solo homer, Travis Gant and Hunter Hewitt each drove in a run on one hit, Hayden Kuiper added two RBIs on two hits while Preston Nedved tallied three hits in the loss.

 

Alexandria Angels 15, Parkston Devil Rays 6

MOUNT VERNON — Jack Gray tossed 15 strikeouts while the Alexandria offense blasted three homers as the Angels blew past Parkston, advancing to the District 5B championship Sunday.

Gray took the win on the mound in eight innings of work, allowing six runs on three hits and six walks, striking out 15 in the win. Tyson Gau had four RBIs on a homer, Jordan Gau collected two RBIs on two hits, a double and a homer, Michael Schoettmer had four RBIs on two doubles, Peyton Smith added two RBIs on one hit, while Jerrod Zens had three hits, a homer, walk and an RBI in the win.

For Parkston, Landon Subeck took the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks in two innings pitched. Jake Helleloid launched a homer in the loss, driving in three runs while Ty Neugebauer and Dylan Soulek each tallied a hit in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 10, Estelline Merchants 4

CASTLEWOOD — Elkton scored five runs over the final two frames to pull away from Estelline in District 1B tournament action Sunday.

Brady Steffen had two hits and two RBIs, Billy Stuefen recorded two RBIs on a hit, Eliot Erickson recorded an RBI on one hit, Dylan Gillespie tallied three hits and a walk while Aidan Stewart recorded two RBIs on a homer and a walk in the win. Brandon Stuefen took the win on the mound in 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits in 4.2 innings, striking out four.

For Estelline, Isaac Schulte allowed 10 runs on 10 hits and six walks in eight innings, striking out one. Austin Suther drove in two runs on two hits, one double, Trey Schmidt had two hits while Jake Goodfellow drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Volga Cormorants 14, Ramona Express 4 (7 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Volga pounded out 11 hits as the Cormorants earned a mercy rule win over Ramona in District 1B tournament action Sunday.

Cole Gross batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs, Connor Gross and Trevor Olson each had two hits and two RBIs, Braden Danzeisen tallied three RBIs on a double and a walk, Noah Puetz an RBI on a hit and two walks, Bayley Colemer tallied two walks and an RBI while Kyler Bezdichek tallied two walks and two RBIs in the in. Connor Gross took the win on the mound in seven innings of work, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks, striking out five in the win.

For Ramona, Aaron Schlosser allowed seven runs on two hits and six walks in 3.1 innings, striking out one. Logan DeRungs tallied two walks and an RBI while Justin Casanova had an RBI in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 9, Salem Cubs 3

MADISON — Blake Svoboda struck out 10 Salem Cub batters as Hartford/Humboldt defeated Salem in District 4B tournament action Sunday.

Svoboda took the win on the mound in six innings of work, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks, striking out 10 in the win. Devon Garry drove in three runs on three hits, including a double and a homer, Ryan Holgate hit a three-run homer, Cam Quigley tallied two RBIs on two hits, Svoboda drove in a run on one hit while Joe Hanisch and Broc Haldeman each tallied two hits in the win. Jonah Rechtenbaugh tallied three hits in the win as well.

For Salem, Tyler Earls took the loss, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and two walks in five innings, striking out one. Kyle Tuschen and Cole Cheeseman each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 12, Colman A’s 5

MADISON — Flandreau collected 15 hits as it ran away with a Cornbelt League district tourney win over Colman Sunday.

Jacob Patterson led the offense with three hits, a triple, homer and three RBIs, Keith Cutler and JaColby Anderson each had three hits, a walk and an RBI, including a double by Anderson, Tim Huber had a two-run homer while Beau Severtson tallied an RBI on one hit in the win. Anderson took the win on the mound in 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks, striking out five.

For Colman, Corey Roach allowed seven runs on nine hits in 1.1 innings, striking out two. Chris Burke, Paul Clark and Carter Roach each tallied two hits, including a double from Clark and an RBI from Roach, while Deon Entringer, Colt Hawkins, Lance DeWitt and Adam Fritz each tallied an RBI in the loss.


Crofton (Neb.) Bluejays 13, Menno MadFrogs 8

WYNOT — Crofton pounded out 12 hits in the Bluejays South Central League victory over Menno Sunday.

James Kaiser had two hits, a double, walk and four RBIs in the win, Colton Schieffer recorded three RBIs on four hits, Wilson Munzke tallied three hits, a walk and an RBI, Seth Wiebelhaus had two RBIs while Justin Potts totaled an RBI on a double and a walk in the win. Capp Bengston tossed six innings in the win, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk, striking out five.

For Menno, Brayden Sattler allowed two runs on four hits in 4.1 innings. Connor Merriam had three hits, two doubles, and three RBIs, Dylan Lehr recorded an RBI on a double and a walk, Nick Ratzloff had an RBI on a hit and a walk, Sattler drove in a run while Macon Oplinger and Kyle Munkvold each totaled two hits in the loss.


Garretson Blue Jays 8, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 4

LENNOX — A four-run eighth inning separated Garretson from Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing in District 7B tournament action Sunday.

Trey Buckneberg batted 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs, Scott Splett and Sam Siegel each had two hits, Robin Chute tallied an RBI on a walk, Brady Bonte had an RBI while Cole Koch collected an RBI in the win as well. Siegel tossed six innings in the win for Garretson, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings, striking out seven.

For LCW, Quentin Evers allowed two unearned runs on three hits and a walk in four innings, striking out five. Brett Duncan drove in two runs on three hits, including a double, in the loss.


Harrisburg Woodies 12, Brookings Cubs 2 (7 innings)

HARRISBURG — Maddux Scherer, Mark Abrahamson and Kole Zimmerman were heavy hitters in Harrisburg’s Sioux Empire League win over Brookings Sunday.

Scherer batted 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs, Abrahamson drove in three runs on a homer and a walk, while Zimmerman launched two homer runs, driving in three runs in the win. Dalton Lehnen allowed two runs on five hits in five innings in the win, striking out nine. 

For Brookings, Zach Shastay allowed 12 runs on seven hits and seven walks in four innings, striking out five in the loss. Arlen Peters drove in two runs on three hits, including a homer, while Rhett Zelinsky tallied two hits, one double, in the loss.


Renner Monarchs 9, Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 0

RENNER — The Renner pitching staff combined for 14 strikeouts in the Monarchs Sioux Empire League win over Sioux Falls Sunday.

Jed Schmitt struck out seven batters in three innings, allowing two hits and three walks while Gage Sharping, Jeremiah Mauch and Corey Vasquez combined for 7 more strikeouts in the other six innings, allowing one hit and six walks. Chaz Palmer drove in two runs on two hits, Tony Lanier had two RBIs on a double, Nick Bartels tallied three hits and an RBI, Adam Durfee totaled two hits and an RBI while Vasquez, Ryan Hander and Cole Kraemer each had an RBI in the win.

For the Flying Squirrels, Jake Wheeler allowed nine runs on eight hits and five walks in four innings, striking out five in the loss. Trevor Hurley, Dexter Payne and Jaxen DeHaan each had a hit in the loss.
