Kimball/White Lake Nationals 8, Burke Bombers 1

CHAMBERLAIN — Kimball/White Lake captured the District 3B amateur baseball tournament championship on Wednesday.

Dylanger Pierson led the Nationals with two hits, three RBI and belted a home run. Cooper Leiferman added three hits and drove in two runs. Keaton Christensen, Jaxon Christensen and Carter Lenz had two hits apiece. Keaton Christensen and Lenz both drove in runs. Dylan Konechne and Caleb Crist added hits. Christ struck out 12 batters, allowed five hits, one earned run, and walked three batters in a complete-game performance. 

For Burke, Hunter Van Niewenhuyse had two of the team’s five hits. Gannon Thomas, Brogan Glover and Tarell Bauld each had hits. Glover drove in the lone run. Bauld took the loss, allowing three hits, one earned run and struck out one batter in three innings.

Corsica Horned Frogs 5, Mount Vernon Mustangs 2

MOUNT VERNON — A three-run seventh inning powered Corsica past Mount Vernon in a District 5B tournament elimination game Wednesday.

Blake Moke drove in two runs on three hits, Logan Bakker had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, while Jayce Slaba and Tyson Wentland each had two hits in the win. Brendan Wentland took the win on the mound in nine innings of work, allowing two runs on 11 hits and three walks, striking out nine.

For MV, Bradley Dean allowed four runs on seven hits and six walks in six innings of work. Spencer Neugebauer, Brady Albrecht and Deric Denning each had two hits while Bradley Dean drove in a run on two doubles in the loss.


Parkston Mudcats 1, Dimock/Emery 0

MOUNT VERNON — Jake Weber’s complete game shutout powered Parkston past Dimock/Emery in a Sunshine League district elimination game Wednesday.

Weber allowed just four hits and a walk in nine shutout innings, striking out four in the win. Cullen Verville drove in the would-be winning run in fifth inning, Brayden Jervik had three hits, one double while Luke Bormann added two hits, a double, and a walk in the win.

For DE, Jason Schmidt took the loss, allowing one run on nine hits and two walks in eight innings, striking out seven. Drew Kitchens had two hits, while Schmidt and Cole Knippling each tallied one hit in the loss.


Volga Cormorants 2, Elkton Snappers 0

ELKTON — Trevor Olson struck out nine batters as Volga clinched the final spot in the District 1B tournament Wednesday.

Olson allowed just three hits and eight walks in nine shutout innings, striking out seven in the win. Bayley Colemer drove in a run on two hits, including a solo homer, Randy Santema had an RBI on one hit while K Bezdichek added two hits in the win.

For Elkton, Dylan GIllespie allowed two runs on six hits in nine innings, striking out 10 in the loss. Brady Steffen, Dave Bierman and Aiden Erickson each tallied a hit in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 15, Groton Locke Electric 5 (8 innings)

FAULKTON — Redfield struck for seven runs in the eighth inning to take the District 2B championship in mercy rule fashion Wednesday.

Owen Osborn led with three RBIs on two hits, a double and a walk, Keaton Rohlfs added two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Noah Hainy and Cooper Hainy each had two RBIs on one hit, while Bennett Osborn added two hits and a walk in the win. Peyton Osborn took the win on the mound in 7.1 innings, allowing five runs on 11 hits and two walks, striking out two.

For Groton, Ryan Groeblinghoff took the loss, surrendering 14 runs on 11 hits and six walks in 7.2 innings, striking out four. Ben Althoff drove in two runs on two hits, Wyatt Locke added three RBIs on two hits while Jonah Schmidt, Brian Hansen and Bradin Althoff each had two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 6, Dell Rapids PBR 1

MADISON — Treyse Eastman drove in three runs as the Dell Rapids Mudcats secured a spot in the District 4B championship Wednesday.

Eastman batted 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs, Austin Henry added two hits, a walk and an RBI while Carter Gullickson and Jake Goble each had an RBI on one hit, including a solo homer from Goble. Reece Arbogast took the win on the mound in a six-inning outing, allowing one run on two hits and three walks, striking out four.

For PBR, Riley Hoffman allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings, striking out four. Zack Puetz had two hits, one solo homer, while Hoffman added two hits as well in the loss.

 

Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 10, Canova Gang 6

MADISON — Madison pounded out 12 hits as the Broncos advanced to the Cornbelt League championship game Wednesday.

Dawson Bakker and Ty Jorgenson each had three hits and a homer, including a solo homer from Jorgenson, Heith Williams added two hits and an RBI, while Logan Albee and Matt Burpee each had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win. JD Kirchner took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks, striking out seven.

For Canova, Derek Miller took the loss, allowing nine runs on 10 hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out seven. Justin Miller drove in four runs on three hits and a walk, Jared Miller added two hits, a walk, and an RBI while Derek Miller recorded two hits in the loss.
