Watertown 3, Harrisburg Gold 2 (11 innings)

BROOKINGS — Watertown’s Nathan Briggs' single in the 11th inning lifted Watertown to a State A Legion baseball tournament win on Wednesday.

Briggs finished 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Mitch Olson and Dylon Rawdon had two hits apiece. Olson drove in a run, while Nash Berg had a hit. Will Engstrom earned the win, striking out four batters, allowing one hit, zero runs and zero walks through three innings.

For Harrisburg Gold, Teigan Munce and Noah Boschee had two hits apiece. Boschee and Eli Kokenge both drove in runs. Jack Riley and Maddux Scherer had hits. Kason Syverson took the loss, allowing four hits, two walks and struck out five batters in 5.1 innings. 

Watertown will play the winner of Brookings vs. Renner, which was delayed due to weather.

Harrisburg Gold will play Rapid City Post 22 at 1 p.m. Thursday. 

Rapid City Hardhats 9, Yankton 2

BROOKINGS — Hayden Leighty tossed a complete game on the mound as Rapid City topped Yankton during a State A Legion tournament elimination game Wednesday.

Leighty gave up two runs on four hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out four to earn the victory.

Dawson Inhofer batted 3-for-3 with an RBI, Philip Bentz added two hits and two RBIs, Jace Morgan and Alex Dietrich each tallied two hits and an RBI, while Aiden Roberts, Hayden Holec, and Tate Crosswait each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Crosswait. Harrison Good cracked a double, while Aaron Roach drove in a run in the victory as well.

For Yankton, Owen Wishon took the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in 0.2 innings.

Easton Feser drove in a run on two hits, Austin Gobel had an RBI-single, while Mark Kathol tallied a double in the loss.

Rapid City stays alive with the win and will play Harrisburg Gold at 1 p.m. on Thursday. With the loss, Yankton was eliminated from the state tournament.

Brandon Valley 4, Sioux Falls East 1 (9 innings)

BROOKINGS — Brandon Valley struck for three ninth-inning runs to defeat Sioux Falls East in an elimination game during the State A Legion tournament Wednesday.

Ryland Carrol and Chase Leary each drove in a run on one hit, Max Peters hit an RBI-sac fly, while Aiden Zerr, Grady Gindorff, and Nolan Pudwill each tallied hits in the win.

Zerr took the victory on the mound in eight innings pitched, allowing one run on two hits and three walks, striking out five batters.

For Sioux Falls East, Sawyer Tolk took the loss allowing three runs on one hit and three walks in 1.1 innings of relief.

Brycen Mitchell and Ryan Hirsch each tallied a hit in the loss.

Brandon Valley advances to face Renner or Brookings on Thursday at 4 p.m., while Sioux Falls East was eliminated from the state tournament with the loss.
