Rapid City Post 22 23, Sturgis 0 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 piled on the scoring in its mercy rule victory over Sturgis Tuesday.

Jace Morgan and Dawson Inhofer each drove in two runs on three hits and a walk, including a homer from Inhofer, Aiden Roberts drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Ryan Neugebauer and Dexter Steen each drove in a run on one hit, Lars Kieffer had two RBIs on a walk, while Kain McLeod, Rowan Fredrickson and Carter Johnson each had an RBI in the win. Johnson earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits and a walk in three shutout innings, striking out three.

For Sturgis, Brody Royer allowed 12 runs on five hits and five walks in 1.1 innings, striking out one. Elijah Stroud, Dalyn Dschaak and Ethan Cermak each tallied hits in the loss for Sturgis.


Groton 6, Sisseton 5 (6 innings)

GROTON — Brevin Fliehs two-RBI single lifted Groton past Sisseton in Legion baseball action Tuesday.

Fliehs drove in three runs on two hits and a walk in the win, Korbin Kucker added an RBI on two hits, one triple, while Teylor Diegel drove in a run in the win as well. Diegel tossed four innings for Groton, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks in four innings, striking out four.

For Sisseton, LJ Crooks allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out three. Crooks and Luke Nielsen each drove in a run on a hit and a walk while Max Dahlen drove in a run on two doubles in the loss.

 

Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 6, Lennox 4 (8 innings)

LENNOX — Bryce Sattler tossed eight strong innings as Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota outlasted Lennox in an extra-inning Legion contest Tuesday.

Sattler allowed just four runs on 10 hits and three walks in eight innings, striking out six. Luke Peters drove in two runs on one hit, Rocky Ammann added two walks and an RBI, Easton Miller collected two hits while Evan Scharberg had a hit in the win for SMFC.

For Lennox, Talen Eich allowed four runs on two hits and two walks, striking out four. Eich batted 3-for-3 with a double, walk and an RBI, Cole Spieler added an RBI on a walk while Jaxon Bittner, Jackson Anacker and Nate Haar each had two hits in the loss.


Wagner 4, Parkston 2

WAGNER — Frank Soukup tossed eight strikeouts in a complete game on the mound to power Wagner past Parkston in Legion baseball Tuesday.

Soukup allowed just two runs on three hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out eight in the win. Carter Cournoyer drove in a run on two hits, a double, and a walk, B Otte added an RBI on a single while Soukup and Joey Cournoyer each had two hits in the win.

For Parkston, Wyatt Anderson took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks in 5.2 innings, striking out seven. Kolter Kramer tallied two hits and an RBI, while Drew Braley drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Platte/Geddes 8, Gregory 1

GREGORY — Seven different batters drove in a run in Platte/Geddes’ Legion baseball win over Gregory Sunday.

Asher Kott drove in a run on three hits, Kenyon Kuiper added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, while Maddux VanZee, Quincy Stephens, Parker Bailey, Hayden Sprik and Manny VanZee each drove in a run on one hit in the win. Kuiiper took the win on the mound, surrendering one run on four hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out 12 in the process.

For Gregory, Hudson Fuhrer allowed five runs on four hits and a walk in 1.2 innings, striking out two. Aiden Frasch drove in a run on one hit while Rane Kenzy tallied a double in the loss.


Belle Fourche 14, Hot Springs 2 (5 innings)

BELLE FOURCHE — A 12-run second inning powered Belle Fourche past Hot Springs in Legion action Tuesday.

Gavin Pearson drove in three runs on a triple, Carsyn Hahne added two RBIs on a hit and two walks, Trig Thomsen collected two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Nolan Wahlfeldt had two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Harvey Walding drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the win as well. Five different Belle Fourche pitchers combined for the victory on the mound, allowing just three hits and a walk in five innings, striking out nine in the win.

For Hot Springs, Jaydon Koffler allowed 14 runs on seven hits and 11 walks in 2.1 innings, striking out four. Koffler, Brant Person and Devon Busch each had hits in the loss, while York Naze drove in a run as well.


Pierre 9, Rapid City Post 320 6

PIERRE — A five-run sixth inning powered Pierre past Rapid City Post 320 in Legion baseball Tuesday.

Sutton Sonnenschein drove in two runs on two hits, Carter Schiefelbein added two hits and an RBI, Ridge Leimbach drove in two runs on a hit while Cooper Terwilliger tallied a double in the win. Parker O’Bryan took the win on the mound allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in two innings, striking out three.

For RC, Landon Faatz allowed eight runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. Colton Mehlhaff and Jonah Blake each drove in a run on two hits and a walk, while Jhett Peterson tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Pierre 9, Rapid City Post 320 4

PIERRE — Dawson Getz drove in three runs as Pierre swept Rapid City Post 320 in Legion action Tuesday.

Getz drove in three runs on two doubles, Cooper Terwilliger added two RBIs on two hits, Carter Schiefelbein and Trevor Rounds each had two hits and an RBI, while Ridge Leimbach added an RBI in the win as well. Will Danburg led Pierre on the mound with seven strong innings, surrendering four runs on nine hits and two walks in just 83 pitches.

For RC, Nolan Williamson allowed nine runs on 11 hits and a walk in six innings, striking out five. Tegan Sayles and Colton Mehlhaff each tallied three hits and an RBI, including a double and two triples from Sayles, while Max Speed added an RBI double in the loss for Post 320.


Aberdeen 15, Sioux Falls East 9

ABERDEEN — Jehiel Aviles and Lance Siefken each drove in four runs as Aberdeen picked up a win over Sioux Falls East during Tuesday’s Legion double header.

Aviles drove in four runs on a hit and two walks while Siefken tallied two hits, one double, driving in four more runs as well. Grant Beyer and Levi Hoffman each drove in a run on one hit, combining for three walks while Karson Borge, Joran Foss and Joe Cogley each tallied an RBI in the win as well. Cooper Eisenbeisz took the win on the mound allowing four runs on five hits and two walks in three innings.

For Sioux Falls East, Kasen Christiansen allowed nine runs on four hits and four walks in one inning. Brayden Olson and Brody Schafer each drove in two runs on two hits, Caden Sporrer and Colin Lunders each tallied an RBI on two hits and a walk while Dietrich Haan had four hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls East 18, Aberdeen 3 (5 innings)

ABERDEEN — Colin Lunders, Brayden Olson and Jens McLarty each drove in three runs as Sioux Falls East split a double header with Aberdeen Tuesday.

Lunders, Olson and McLarty each drove in three runs on one hit, including a double by Lunders, Caleb Bumann and Brody Schafer each drove in two runs on one hit, including a triple and two walks in the win. Ethan Olson batted in a run on two hits while Gavin Van Oort drove in a run on one hit in the win. Pete Samp took the win on the mound giving up three runs on three hits and eight walks in five innings, striking out three.

For Aberdeen, Karson Borge allowed seven runs on four hits and two walks in 1.1 innings. Cooper Eisenbeisz drove in a run on a triple while Levi Hoffman had two hits in the loss for Aberdeen.


Harrisburg Gold 17, Huron 2 (5 innings)

HURON — Michael Oakland and Kason Syverson each drove in five runs as Harrisburg took game one of a Legion double header with Huron Tuesday.

Oakland batted 4-for-4 with two doubles and a homer, driving in five runs in the win, Syverson added three doubles and five RBIs as well, Eli Kokenge tallied three hits, two doubles, and two RBIs, Noah Boschee had two RBIs on a homer, Ethan Beek collected one RBI on a solo home run, adding two walks as well, while Kade Wede tallied an RBI on a hit and two walks in the win. Darren Safranski earned the victory on the mound in 4.1 innings, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out four.

For Huron, Layne Wenzel allowed nine runs on eight hits and four walks in three innings of work. Logan Leyendecker and Anderson Porisch each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.

 

Huron 10, Harrisburg Gold 9 (9 innings)

HURON — Bubba Peterson stole home to split Tuesday’s double header with Harrisburg Gold.

Peterson batted 2-for-4 with two walks and three RBIs in the win, Oakley Anderson added an RBI on a hit and two walks, Logan Leyendecker collected an RBI on two hits and three walks, while Anderson Porisch drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the win as well. Peterson took the victory on the mound as well, allowing one run on two hits and three walks in 3.1 innings.

For Harrisburg, Ethan Beek allowed one run on one hit and two walks in one inning of relief. Bryson Esser drove in three runs on three hits, including a homer, Kason Syverson added an RBI on three hits and a walk, Noah Boschee had two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Darren Safranski had one RBI on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Brandon Valley 5, Sioux Falls West 4

BRANDON — Ryland Carroll tossed 12 strikeouts as Brandon Valley held off Sioux Falls West in Legion action Tuesday.

Carroll earned the victory on the mound, surrendering four runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings, fanning 12 batters. Bryton Stroh drove in two runs on a triple and a walk, Carroll and Max Peters each had RBIs on one hit while Brayden Knutson, Ryder Mueller and Will VanLeur each tallied an RBI on one hit in the win.

For SFW, Kyler Boyd allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in 3.2 innings, striking out six in the loss. Beckett Whitlock drove in a run on a hit and a walk, Mason Payne collected an RBI on two hits while Boston Bryant added two doubles and a walk in the loss.
