Alexandria 5, Chamberlain 2 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — A five run inning led Alexandria to a Legion baseball victory over Chamberlain Wednesday.

Carter Popp drove in two runs on a hit, Carter Endorf added an RBI on one hit while Esten Schlimgen, Tyler Sanderson and Nate Wilber each tallied hits in the win. AJ Wilber pitched three innings in the win, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk, striking out two.

For Chamberlain, Isaac Shepherd allowed five unearned runs on four hits and two walks in 4.2 innings, striking out three. Conway Collins drove in a run on a double while Eli Donovan and Shepherd each had hits in the loss.


Dakota Valley 4, Crofton (Neb.) 3

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Jack Wiese’s RBI single lifted Dakota Valley past Crofton in walk-off fashion Wednesday.

Wiese drove in a run on one hit in the win, Grady Ramos added an RBI on a double and a walk, Sterling Schauff added an RBI on a walk, while Vincent Hoffman collected an RBI in the win as well. Schauff allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk in six innings, striking out eight batters.


Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 5, Parkston 1

PARKSTON — Evan Scharberg and Trent Guthmiller combined for 12 strikeouts as Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota defeated Parkston in Legion action Wednesday.

Scharberg tossed three innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks, striking out six while Guthmiller added six strikeouts in four shutout innings, allowing just one hit. Luke Peters drove in two runs on one hit, Kory Keppen collected an RBI on one hit while Scharberg and Erick Buechler each tallied hits in the win.

For Parkston, Taite Klumb allowed four runs on four hits and four walks in 5.2 innings, fanning seven batters. Mason Jervik tallied two hits, Carter Sommer and James Deckert each had one hit, while Kolter Kramer tallied an RBI walk in the loss.

 

Winner/Colome 16, Gregory 0 (4 innings)

WINNER — Isaiah Olson drove in four runs as Winner/Colome blanked Gregory in Legion action Wednesday.

Olson batted 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, Landon Calhoon drove in three runs on a hit and a walk, Aiden Schroder collected two RBIs on a double and a walk, Gavin Risse added two RBIs on two hits and a walk, while Jackson Eisemann tallied a triple, walk and an RBI in the win. Risse took the victory on the mound, allowing just one hit and one walk in four innings, striking out four.

For Gregory, Lincoln Juracek allowed six runs on five hits and two walks in 2.2 innings, striking out three. Noah Bearshield had the lone hit of the game for Gregory.


Groton 13, Lisbon (N.D.) 9

GROTON — Groton scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Lisbon, North Dakota, in Legion baseball action Wednesday.

Brevin Fliehs had three hits, a double, and three RBIs, Korbin Kucker tallied three RBIs on a double and a homer, Carter Simon added two RBIs on two hits, one double, Nick Morris collected two hits and an RBI, Karsten Fliehs, Gavin Englund and Teylor Diegel each had one hit and one RBI while Braxton Imrie drove in a run on one walk in the win. Kucker took the victory on the mound, allowing five runs on seven hits and six walks in five innings, striking out three.


Sioux Falls West 7, Brookings 4

SIOUX FALLS — Noah MacFarlane tossed six strong innings in Sioux Falls West’s Legion baseball victory over Brookings Wednesday.

MacFarlane tossed six innings, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks, fanning five batters as well. Boston Byrant tallied three hits, two doubles, and an RBI, Ian Stokes drove in two runs on one hit while Chris Logue, Beckett Whitlock and Jacob Dunn each had one RBI on one hit in the win.

For Brookings, Tyson Antonen allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out three. Winston Plummer drove in a run on a double, Talon Hyde added an RBI on one hit, while Jon Kahler had an RBI walk in the loss.


Sioux Falls West 8, Brookings 5

SIOUX FALLS — A seven-run inning powers Sioux Falls West to a Legion baseball sweep over Brookings Wednesday.

Kyler Boyd tallied three RBIs on a triple, Jacob Dunn collected an RBI on two hits, Noah Mans added an RBI on one hit, while Jack Hille and Chris Logue combined for three RBIs and three walks in the win. Hugh Barnes tossed five innings for Sioux Falls, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in three innings, striking out four.

For Brookings, Breck Wilson allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks in three innings. Winston Plummer drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Cooper Schneider tallied two hits and a walk, Tre Christopherson had a hit and two walks, while Jase Bauer, Talon Hyde, Tyson Antonen and Tane Friedrich each tallied an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Sioux Falls East 12, Harrisburg Gold 2 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls East forced a mercy rule win with a 10-run fifth inning to beat Harrisburg in Legion action Wednesday.

Colin Lunders had two hits, a double and two RBIs, Caden Sporrer and Pete Sampe each had two hits and an RBI, Kasen Christansen tallied an RBI on one hit, Brody Schafer and Ethan Olson both tallied two hits while Caleb Bumann drew three walks, driving in two runs as well. Lunders took the victory on the mound, allowing two unearned runs on two hits and three walks in five innings, striking out four.

For Harrisburg, Kason Syverson took the loss, surrendering six runs on nine hits and three walks in four innings, striking out three. Eli Kokenge and Ty Raymond each had hits in the loss for Harrisburg.
