Alexandria 12, Platte/Geddes 5 (8 innings)

PLATTE — Alexandria exploded for seven eighth-inning runs to defeat Platte/Geddes in Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

Alexandria racked up 14 hits in the win, with nine coming from the first three batters in the order.

Jayce Slaba led the team in hits batting 4-for-5 with a walk, a triple, and two RBIs, Brayden Bahmuller batted 3-for-6 with a double and five RBIs, and Jackson Jarding added two hits, including a triple, and a walk.

AJ Wilber collected two hits and two walks in the win, while Esten Schlimgen, Tyler Sanderson, and Sutton Dewald each tallied hits for Alexandria.

Ben Wilber earned the victory on the mound, giving up five hits, four walks, and five runs in seven innings pitched while striking out 11 batters.

For Platte/Geddes, Tanner Dyk earned the loss in 3.1 innings pitched, giving up six hits, four walks, and seven runs while striking out two.

Jye Bailey, Dyk, Parker Bailey, Ashton Krumvieda, and Maddux VanZee each tallied hits, with Jye Bailey, Parker Bailey, and VanZee each driving in one run.


Faulkton/Highmore 2, Chamberlain 1 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Despite tallying just one hit offensively, Faulkton/Highmore got the best of the pitching duel to defeat Chamberlain in Legion baseball Monday night.

All three runs scored in the game came in the first inning, but the two scored by the Hitmen was enough to defeat Chamberlain in game one of a double header.

Carson Stephenson was the winning pitcher for FH, giving up three hits, four walks, and one run in five innings while striking out four.

Landon Coyle tallied the only hit for FH, an RBI single in the top of the first inning.

For Chamberlain, Sandler Wiekamp took the loss despite a complete game effort, allowing one hit, four walks, and two earned runs while striking out eight in five innings.

Wiekamp added one hit, while Sawyer Donavon batted 2-for-2 in the loss. Dakota Munger drove in the only run for Chamberlain.


Chamberlain 2, Faulkton/Highmore 0 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Dakota Munger’s no-hitter and walk-off single helped Chamberlain defeat Faulkton/Highmore in game two of a Legion baseball double header Monday night.

Munger gave up just one walk in his five inning, 70 pitch outing, while driving in the game-winning runs on an RBI single with two outs in the fifth.

Conway Collins collected two hits in three at-bats, while Sawyer Donavon, Cooper Leiferman, and Sandler Wiekamp each tallied hits in the win.

For FH, Layne Cotton took the loss in 4.2 innings pitched, giving up six hits, two walks, and two runs  while striking out 11 batters.

Cade Schick was the lone batter to reach base safely on a walk in the loss.


Baltic/Colton 12, Madison 7

COLTON — Baltic/Colton racked up 14 hits to earn a comeback victory over Madison in Legion baseball action Monday night.

Braxton Allen and Riley Schultz paced the BC offense with three hits apiece, including a double and an RBI by Schultz.

Tyler Groenewold and Everett Althoff each collected two hits, with Groenewold collecting two RBIs with a double.

Carter Sorenson drove in two runs on one hit, while Beau Keith and Gunner Schultz each added one hit and one RBI.

Tate Feucht earned the victory on the mound for BC, giving up four hits, five walks, and six runs in two innings pitched.

For Madison, Lucas Mork took the loss in 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits, a walk, and nine runs.

Jovi Wolf and Casyn Crabtree each tallied two hits, including an RBI by Wolf, while Braxton Bjorklund launched a three-run homer for his lone hit.

Parker Johnson drove in two runs on one hit, while Mork collected one hit in the loss for Madison.


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 7, Redfield 0

REDFIELD — Ashton Remily’s one-hitter helped shutout Redfield, earning WIN a Legion baseball victory Monday night.

Remily nearly went the distance on the mound at 6.2 innings, giving up one hit and four walks while striking out 10, adding a base-hit offensively in the win.

Mac Heinz and Xavier Kadlec led the offense with three hits and two hits, respectively, while Dawson Ward and Chays Mansfield each drove in two runs on one hit.

Devin Fischbach tallied one hit and one RBI to round out the scoring for WIN.

For Redfield, Noah Johnson earned the loss on the mound, surrendering eight hits, two walks, and five runs in five innings pitched.

Johnson recorded the only hit of the game for Redfield as well.


Fargo (ND) 10, Brookings 2

BROOKINGS — Fargo’s offense collected 12 hits en route to a dominant 10-2 victory over Brookings in game one of a Legion baseball double header Monday night.

The offense was led by Gus Werremeyer, Gus Pankratz, and Caleb Christianson, combining for seven hits and three RBIs.

Colby Hanson and Coleston Senn each drove in one run on one hit for Fargo in the win as well.

Ashton Rinas started on the mound for Fargo, giving up two hits, one walk, and two runs in three innings.

For Brookings, Austin Clark saw the most time on the bump, giving up nine hits, two walks, and seven runs in four innings, while striking out three.

Tate Helmbolt drove in two runs on one hit, Jon Kahler batted 2-for-3, and Addison Ronning added a hit in the loss for Brookings.


Brookings 10, Fargo (ND) 0 (5 innings)

BROOKINGS — Tyson Antonen limited Fargo to just two hits while the offense struck for 10 runs as Brookings earned a mercy rule victory in the second half of Monday night’s Legion double header.

In four innings pitched, Antonen struck out five batters while walking three and allowing two hits to earn the victory on the mound.

Tate Helmboldt drove in four runs on two hits, including a double, Austin Clark batted 1-for-1 with two walks, a double, and two RBIs, and Jon Kahler went 1-for-2 with three RBIs.

Owen Schneider collected two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Addison Ronning and a David Brink each tallied doubles in the win.

For Fargo, Alex Christopherson took the loss in three innings pitched, giving up three hits, one walk, and three runs.

Coleston Senn and Keegan Wessels each tallied hits in the loss.


Rapid City Post 320 7, Pierre 6

RAPID CITY — Post 320 scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to stun Pierre in Legion baseball action Monday night.

The Rapid City offense was led by a two hit, four-RBI day by Tegan Sayles. Anderson Lockhart batted 2-for-2 with an RBI, Jhett Peterson and Colton Mehlhaff each drove in one run on one hit, and Jacob Decker and Ben Dressler each tallied hits in the win.

Nolan Williamson saw the most time on the mound for Post 320, giving up four hits, four walks, and four runs in five innings, while striking out seven.

For Pierre, Miles Doyle took the loss in a six inning effort, giving up eight hits, four walks, and seven runs while striking out six.

Sutton Sonnenschein led the Pierre offense with two RBIs and two hits, while Charlie Simpson, Cooper Terwilliger, and JJ Buchholz each drove in one run on one hit.


Pierre 15, Rapid City Post 320 4 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY —  Sutton Sonnenschein and Dawson Getz combined for seven RBIs as Pierre picked up a Legion baseball victory Monday night.

Sonnenschein batted 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs while Getz batted 2-for-3 with four RBIs to pace the Pierre offense.

Miles Doyle drove in two runs on three walks while Nolan Peterson drove in a run on one walk as well.

Charlie Simpson and C Scheiflbein each drove in one run on one hit, including a double by Simpson.

Cooper Terwilliger earned the victory on the mound, giving up two hits, four walks, and four runs in five innings.

For Rapid City, Colton Mehlhaff took the loss in two innings, giving up four hits, four walks, and six runs while striking out two.

Nolan Williamson cracked a double while Carson Bussell drove in one run on one hit in the loss.


Brandon Valley 8, Sioux Falls West 2

SIOUX FALLS — Brayden Knutson collected three hits and three RBIs to power Brandon Valley to a Legion baseball victory over Sioux Falls West Tuesday afternoon.

Luke Smart, Bryton Stroh, and Max Peters were all efficient at the plate in the win, Smart batted 2-for-5 with an RBI, Stroh added one hit and two RBIs, and Peters drove in one run on a hit-by-pitch.

Nolan Pudwill, Carter LaBrie, and Grady Gindorff each tallied hits in the win as well.

Ryland Carroll earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs in six innings, striking out six batters.

For Sioux Falls West, Ben Little earned the loss, issuing three hits, three walks, and two runs in two innings.

Tyler Olson and Tyler Van Roekel combined for three hits, a double,  and two RBIs, while Tucker DeHaan added a double in the loss as well.


Sioux Falls West 10, Brandon Valley 3

SIOUX FALLS — Tyler Olson and Jackson DeHaan combined for four hits and seven RBIs as Sioux Falls West defeated Brandon Valley in Legion baseball Tuesday night.

Olson batted 2-for-4 with a walk and four RBIs, while DeHaan batted 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, and three RBIs to pace the offense.

Adler Jensen, Tucker DeHaan and Grant Prouty each tallied hits in the win.

Jack Kieso earned the victory on the mound, giving up five hits, five walks, and three runs, while striking out three batters.

For Brandon Valley, Chase Leary took the loss, allowing one hit, three walks, and five runs.

Ryland Carroll, Jackson Adams, Brayden Knutson, Mason Veld, and Grady Gindorff each tallied hits in the loss.


Parkston 9, Wagner 5

WAGNER — Four Parkston batters drove in two runs apiece as Parkston defeated Wagner in Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

James Deckert batted 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Kolter Kramer drove in two runs on a double, Kaden Holzbauer batted 2-for-2 with two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs, and Kash Neugebauer drove in two more runs on one hit.

Brody Boettcher collected two hits, Conner Prunty added one hit and one RBI, and Carter Sommer tallied one hit in the win as well.

Sommer earned the victory on the mound for Parkston, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out four in two innings.

Luke Bormann and Maddux Brissette also saw time on the mound, combining for 13 strikeouts.

For Wagner, Joey Cournoyer took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three.

Cournoyer and Carter Cournoyer led the offense with two hits and one RBI apiece.

Tyler Tjeerdsma drove in a run on one hit, while Matt Link added a hit in the loss as well.
