Tabor Bluebirds 5, Lesterville Broncs 1

TABOR — Riley Rothschadl struck out 12 batters as Tabor picked up a South Central League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Rothschadl allowed four hits, one earned run, and issued zero walks on 106 pitches through seven innings. Rothschadl added a hit. Hunter Hallock finished 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Joey Slama, Chase Kortan, Beau Rothschadl and Zach Sutera had two hits apiece. Sutera drove in two runs. 

For Lesterville, Ethan Wishon, Tanner Van Driel, Tyler Edler and Michael Drotzmann each had hits. Edler drove in the lone run. Dawson Bietz took the loss, allowing 10 hits, four earned runs and struck out five batters through six innings. 


Dell Rapids PBR 8, Canova Gang 7 (10 innings) 

DELL RAPIDS — Matt Gillogly’s walk-off single lifted Dell Rapids PBR to a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Weston Hansen finished 3-for-5 and drove in a run. Gillogly, Riley Calhoon and Chris Kropuenske each had two hits. Drew Sweeter and Zach Puetz drove in two runs. Tanner Solberg and Riley Hoffman each had a hit. Hoffman earned the win, allowing 11 hits, five earned runs, zero walks and struck out six batters in a complete-game performance. 

For Canova, Riley Genzlinger finished 4-for-5 and drove in a run. Justin Miller finished with two hits and drove in four runs. Tim Gassman added two hits. Derek Miller started and lasted eight innings, allowing 12 hits, two earned runs and struck out six batters. 


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 8, Salem Cubs 1

HUMBOLDT — Cam Quigley and Joe Hanisch both hammered home runs in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball victory on Thursday.

Hanisch went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs, while Quigley had three hits and drove in a run. Broc Haldeman, Ryan Healy and Chad Morrison had two hits apiece. Morrison drove in two runs. Nate Masloski earned the win, striking out four batters, allowing one earned run, one walk and nine hits in his five-inning start.

For Salem, Kyle Braun went 3-for-4 and drove in the lone run. Bobby Koepsell and Kyle Tuschen each had two hits. Tyler Earls was tagged with the loss, allowing 13 hits, six earned runs, one hit and struck out five batters through eight innings. 


Mount Vernon Mustangs 12, Dimock-Emery Raptors 2 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Mount Vernon picked up its first Sunshine League amateur baseball win of the season on Thursday. 

Spencer Neugebauer finished 3-for-5 and drove in three runs. Chase Hetland and Eric Giblin had two hits and three RBI apiece. Brady Albrecht had two hits. Cameron Deinert drove in two runs. Deric Denning earned the win, allowing eight hits, two earned runs, two walks and struck out four batters in seven innings. 

For Dimock-Emery, Colton Plagmann and Josh Engquist had two hits apiece. Sam Pischke and Plagmann each drove in runs. Landon Waddell took the loss, allowing 10 hits, six earned runs, two walks and struck out one batter in six innings. 


Burke Bombers 2, Kimball/White Lake Nationals 1

BURKE — Hunter Van Niewenhuyse struck out 12 batters in a complete-game performance for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Van Niewenhuyse allowed three hits and three walks on 150 pitches. Blake Boes drove in a run, while Jordan Vosika added a hit.

For KWL, Trent Wookey, Jaxon Christianson and Jonny Lyons each had hits. Mitchell Price took the loss, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three batters and zero walks through two innings. Ethan Price started and struck out 10 batters through six innings. 


Parkston Mudcats 6, Parkston Devil Rays 3

PARKSTON — Jake Goble collected four hits and hit a homer in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Goble finished 4-for-5 and drove in two runs. Luke Bormann and Tate Kogel had two hits apiece. Jeff Harris and Dylan Mogck both drove in runs. Jake Weber earned the win, striking out 10 batters, allowing 10 hits, three earned runs and walked two batters on 141 pitches in a complete-game performance. 

For the Devil Rays, Seth Muth finished 3-for-5 and drove in a run. Dylan Soulek had two hits and drove in a run. Ty Neugebauer added two hits. Jonah Schmidt drove in a run. Jake Helleloid took the loss, allowing seven hits, two earned runs, four walks and struck out nine batters through 5.1 innings. 


Alexandria Angels 11, Corsica-Stickney Horned Frogs 7

CORSICA — Cole Wenande and Reid Smith both clubbed home runs in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Wenande finished 2-for-4 and hit a solo homer. Smith finished 2-for-4 and drove in three runs, including a solo homer. Peyton Smith and Jordan Gau added two hits and an RBI apiece. Jerrod Zens drove in two runs. Riley McSherry earned the win, striking out nine batters, allowing five hits, one earned run and walked four batters in seven innings.

For Corsica-Stickney, Aaron Groeneweg had four hits and smacked a solo home run. Caleb Crist and Kris Menning had two hits apiece. Meaning drove in two runs. Blake Moke took the loss, allowing four hits, six earned runs, five walks and struck out three batters in four innings. 


Plankinton Bankers 11, Colome Chaos 1 (7 innings)

COLOME — Thomas Stange struck out 15 batters in Pony Hills League amateur baseball action on Thursday.

Stange allowed four hits, one earned run and walked two batters through seven innings. Stange added four hits and drove in three runs. Drew Gerlach had three hits and drove in three runs. Cain Tobin and Kane Knudson had two hits apiece. Tobin drove in two runs. Austin Hauge had two hits. 

For Colome, Carter Dye had two of the team’s four hits. Cameron Biggins drove in the lone run. Jake Luse took the loss, allowing 12 hits, seven earned runs, four walks and struck out three batters through five innings. 


Wessington Springs Owls 8, Chamberlain Mallards 4

CHAMBERLAIN — Wessington Springs and Chamberlain combined for 27 hits in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball game on Thursday.

For Wessington Springs, Trevor Kenobbie finished 3-for-5 and drove in two runs. Tarrek Butterfield, Coy Fastnacht, Dylan Schimke and Clay Oplinger had two hits apiece. Fastnacht and Schimke drove in two runs apiece. Dalton Mogck struck out four batters, allowed 12 hits, four earned runs and walked two batters through 7.2 innings for the win. 

For Chamberlain, Dakota Munger went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Evan Stiener, Rayden Haak and Mike Schwartz had two hits apiece. Sandler Wiekamp and Ian Anderson both drove in runs. Braydon Kreofsky struck out 14 batters, allowed 15 hits, six earned runs and walked two batters through nine innings in the loss. 


Winner/Colome Pheasants 11, Platte Killer Tomatoes 1 (7 innings)

WINNER — Connor Hopkins struck out 11 batters in a Sunshine League amateur baseball victory on Thursday.

Hopkins allowed five hits, one earned run and issued two walks on 128 pitches through seven innings. 

Offensively, Winner/Colome collected 14 hits and eight players recorded a hit. Derek Graesser finished 3-for-5 and drove in three runs. Drew DeMers had two hits and drove in three runs. Reed Harter added three hits and an RBI. Austin Richey posted two hits, while Oscar Pravacek drove in two runs. Dillon Lambley, Chandler Bakley and Trevor Salmonson each had hits. 

For Platte, Hayden Kuiper and Travis Gant had two hits apiece. Sheldon Gant added a hit. 


Renner Monarchs 1, Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 0

SIOUX FALLS — Jaxon Rosenclark’s RBI double in the sixth inning lifted Renner to an amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Rosenclark finished 2-for-4, while David Borchardt also had two hits. Jeremiah Mauch earned the win after allowing two hits, zero runs, zero walks and struck out three batters in three relief innings. 

For Sioux Falls, Connor Hurley and Kyle Gulbrandson each had two hits. Seth Peterson took the loss after surrendering two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one through two innings.
