Burke Bombers 7, Colome Chaos 5

COLOME — Ben Witt drove in four runs to help lift Burke to a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Witt finished 3-for-5 and hammered a solo home run. Terrell Bauld added three hits and drove in a run. Dan Jons and Aaron Sundquist had two hits apiece. Sundquist and Kade Braun each drove in runs. Hunter Van Niewenhuyse, William Hemming, Dustin Stukel and Sawyer Tietgen each had hits. Brogan Glover struck out 10 batters, allowed 10 hits, four earned runs and walked two batters in nine innings for the win.

For Colome, Kevin Karter and Stratton Morehart had two hits apiece. Carter Dye belted a two-run homer. Shea Connot had an RBI. Ethan Vobr, Owen Duffy, Joseph Laprath and Riley Orel each had hits. Vobr took the loss, allowing 14 hits, seven earned runs, one walk and struck out three batters in nine innings. 


Tea Steam 2, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 1

TEA — Dawson Portner drove in the go-ahead run during Tea’s win over Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Sunday.

Portner tallied two hits and an RBI while Ben Loos added a hit. Troy Ljunggren drove in a run as well. Cameron Jensen earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on two hits and a walk in six innings pitched, striking out eight batters.

For LCW, Isaac Bambas took the loss allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in five innings pitched, striking out three. Levi Parker had two hits in the loss for the Dirt Devils as well.


Dell Rapids PBR 10, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 8 (10 innings)

MADISON — Dell Rapids scored two runs in the 10th inning to defeat Madison during Sunday’s Cornbelt League action.

Zack Puetz led PBR with two RBIs on three hits, including a double and a homer, adding a walk as well. Tanner Solberg collected two hits and two RBIs, Drew Sweeter and Conner Spindler each drove in a run on two hits, Riley Hoffman and Chris Kropuenske each drove in a run on one hit, while Weston Hansen added two hits in the win. Sweeter took the victory on the mound in two innings of relief, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk, fanning three batters.

For Madison, Brock Minnaert allowed one run on one hit and one walk in one inning to take the loss. Heith Williams drove in three runs on two hits, including a home run, Logan Albee cashed in two runs on a homer, Trey Smith tallied one hit, one RBI, and one walk, Dawson Bakker and Ty Jorgenson each tallied two hits while Tyler Tappe drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 16, Ramona Express 0 (5 innings)

ELKTON — Elkton piled up 6 hits as the Snappers defeated Ramona during Sunday’s Eastern Dakota League action.

Aidan Stewart had three RBIs on three hits and a walk, Owen Cass had four hits and two RBIs, Dylan Gillespie tallied two hits, a home, walk and three RBIs, Dave Bierman netted two hits and two RBIs, Charles Harming and B Steffen each tallied two hits and an RBI while Logan Kuehl collected one hit, one walk, and two RBIs in the win. Steffen earned the victory on the mound allowing just three hits in five shutout innings, striking out five batters.


Canova Gang 4, Colman A’s 2

CANOVA — Riley Genzlinger drove in three runs as Canova took down Colman during Sunday’s Cornbelt League action.

Genzlinger tallied three hits while driving in a run in the win, Jared Miller and Luke Koepsell each tallied RBIs on one hit, while Justin Miller, Derek Miller, Garret Gassman and Jack Nieses each had hits in the win. Koepsell tossed seven innings for the Gang, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk, striking out eight batters.

For Colman, Chris Burke allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings, striking out two. Berk also drove in a run on two hits while Paul Clark drove in a run in the loss as well.


Castlewood Ravens 6, Milbank Firechiefs 1 (5 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Blayne Schliesman drove in three runs during Castlewood’s Eastern Dakota League victory over Milbank Sunday.

Schliesman tallied three RBIs on one hit, Lucas Ching added a solo homer as well, while Nate Phinney drove in two runs on two hits for the Ravens. Alex Gauer allowed just one run on five hits and one walk in five innings, fanning three batters.

For Milbank, Brady Krause allowed six runs on six hits and a walk in 2.2 innings. Kaden Krause tallied two hits while Brady Krause, Dom Boerger and Taylor Boerger each had hits in the loss.


Lake Norden Lakers 29, Estelline Merchants 0 (5 innings)

LAKE NORDEN — Kale Stevenson and George Jensen combined for 16 RBIs as Lake Norden defeated Estelline during Sunday’s Eastern Dakota League action.

Stevenson tallied just two hits, including a double and a homer, piling up seven RBIs while Jensen had five hits, one homer, and nine RBIs in the win. Mick Tulson tallied one hit and three RBIs, Dawson Noem drove in two runs on two hits and two walks, Trevor Thue added four RBIs on two hits, while Josh Cleveland had two RBis on a hit and a walk in the win. Jackson Noem allowed just three hits in three shutout innings for the Lakers, striking out four.

For Estelline, Jake Peterson allowed 11 runs on six hits and two walks in one inning. Chayce Schleuter tallied two hits in the loss for the Merchants.


Menno MadFrogs 15, Irene Cardinals 0 (4 innings)

MENNO — Menno collected 10 hits as the MadFrogs defeated Irene during Sunday’s South Central League action.

Connor Merriam drove in three runs on three hits, including a double, homer, and a walk, Dylan Lehr collected two hits, a double, and three RBIs, Tyler Miller drove in two runs on a walk, Nick Ratzloff added three hits and an RBI while Trent Guthmiller and Ajay Herrboldt each tallied an RBI on one hit in the win. Jared Hegdahl allowed two hits in four shutout innings while striking out four in the win.

For Irene, Cole Edberg allowed nine runs on seven hits and two walks in two innings, fanning four batters. Edberg and Jacob Kribell each tallied hits in the loss.


 Dell Rapids Mudcats 15, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 0 (5 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Carter Gullickson drove in six runs as the Mudcats defeated the Wood Ducks during Sunday’s Cornbelt League action.

Gullickson collected two hits, a double and a homer, driving in six runs in the win. Ty Hoglund added three RBis on two hits and a walk, Chad Hunt added two RBIs on a homer and a single while Treyse Eastman drove in a run on two hits in the win. Nolan Burchill tossed five shutout innings, allowing just one walk while striking out four.

For Hartford/Humboldt, Derek Renken allowed 10 runs on four hits and six walks in 2.2 innings, striking out three.


Irene Cardinals 16, Menno MadFrogs 9 (7 innings)

MENNO — Marcus VanDriel and Anthony De Le Torre Guglielmana each tallied four hits as Irene stormed back in game two of Sunday’s double header with Menno.

VanDriel tallied four hits and three RBIs while De La Torre Guglielmana had four hits, three doubles, and three RBIs. Dustin Livingston tallied three RBIs on two hits and two walks, Cole Edberg drove in three runs on two hits, including a double, Preston Gall added three hits, a double, and two RBIs while Alex Kopf had two hits, one double, and a walk in the win. VanDriel allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, striking out nine batters.

For Menno, Jared Hegdahl took the loss allowing five runs on seven hits in 2.1 innings. Dylan Lehr drove in a run on three hits, Connor Merriam and Brayden Sattler each added two hits, two RBIs, and a walk, Kyle Munkvold and Tyler Miller each collected one hit, one RBI, and one walk while Ajay Herrboldt drove in two runs on one hit in the loss as well.


Freeman Blacksox 14, Lesterville Broncs 4 (7 innings) 

FREEMAN — Bailey Sage and Avery Mellman drove in four runs apiece as Freeman defeated Lesterville in South Central League baseball action on Sunday.

Sage finished 3-for-3 with a double. Mellman went 2-for-5 with a triple. Evan Scharberg hammered a three-run homer. Rocky Ammann and Jackson Fiegen had two hits apiece, while Fiegen drove in a run. Jake Weier and Sam Gillespie each had hits. Mellman struck out six batters, allowed four hits, three earned runs and walked eight batters in five innings for the win.

For Lesterville, Ethan Wishon had a team-high two hits. Hunter Martin, Michael Drotzmann and Garret Damico had hits. Tanner Skorepa, Dawson Bietz and Damico drove in runs. Derek Quame took the loss, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, two walks and struck out four batters in five innings. 


Four Corners 13, Chamberlain Mallards 8

HAYES — Four Corners outlasted the Chamberlain Mallards in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball game on Thursday. 

Jack Van Camp, Sam Hand, Justin Lester and Matt Lusk had three hits apiece for Four Corners, which had 17 total hits. Brad Hand and Jason Overweg had two hits apiece. VanCamp drove in three runs, while Lusk knocked in two runs. Sam Hand, Lester and Overweg each drove in runs. Austin Hand struck out 18 batters, allowed nine hits, seven earned runs and walked 10 batters in nine innings.

For Chamberlain, Kyle Forester had three hits. Sam Wiekamp had two hits and drove in a run. Braydon Oldenkamp and Dylan Dominiak each drove in two runs. Sawyer Donovan struck out 10 batters, allowed 11 hits, six earned runs and walked two batters in five innings. Wiekamp struck out four batters, allowed six hits, six earned runs and walked four batters in three innings. 


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 7, Wessington Springs Owls 5

KIMBALL — Dylanger Pierson and Jaxon Christensen both belted home runs as Kimball/White Lake clipped Wessington Springs in Pony Hills League amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Pierson hit a two-run homer, while Christensen went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs with a two-run homer. Dylan Konechne had three hits, while Trent Wookey had two hits. Caleb Christ and Wes Kroupa each had hits. Mitch Price struck out 10 batters, allowed six hits, zero runs and walked one batter in six innings for the win.

For Wessington Springs, Dalton Mogck, Caleb Jost and Luca VanEngelenburg had two hits apiece. Parker DeJean, Blake Larson and Michael Schleske each had hits. DeJean drove in a run. Tarrek Butterfield struck out two batters, allowed six hits, three earned runs and walked two batters in five innings for the win. 


Winner Demons 5, Plankinton F&M Bankers 4

PLANKINTON — The Winner Demons edged the Plankinton Bankers in Pony Hills League amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Winner’s Austin Klein had two hits and drove in two runs. Landon Calhoon added two hits, while Evan Farner, Quincy Phillips, Kayleb Brozik, Casey Heenan, Ethan Bartels and Adam Bohnet each had hits. Bohnet drove in a run. Farner earned the win, striking out six batters, allowing 10 hits, three earned runs and three walks in a complete-game performance.

For Plankinton, Hunter Pranger went 4-for-5. Devin Mehlhaff had two hits, while Blaine Bohr drove in two runs. Keegan Hill, Drew Gerlach and Thomas Stange had two hits apiece. Mehlhaff took the loss, allowing 10 hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out seven batters through six innings.

 

Northville Merchants 20, Faulkton Hitmen 5 (6 innings)

FAULKTON — Northville pounded out 16 hits as the Merchants defeated Faulkton during Sunday’s Northern Plains League action.

Greg Heyne drove in three runs on three hits, Ethan Beyers added two RBIs on three hits, Ben Fischbach drove in a trio of runs on two hits, Ashton Remily tallied three hits and an RBI, Carson Simes tallied one hit, three walks and an RBI, Niko Pezonella had two RBIs on one hit and three walks, while Kyle Stahl and Max Waltman each drove in two runs in the win. Chase Mansfield added two RBis on one hit in the win as well. Pezonella earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on five walks in three innings, striking out eight.

For Faulkton, Gunner Brueggeman allowed nine runs on nine hits and three walks in 1.2 innings to take the loss on the mound. Layne Cotton drove in a pair of runs on a double, Carson Stephenson added two RBIs on three walks while Ryan Soler drove in a run on a hit and two walks in the loss.
