Aberdeen Smittys 10, Brookings Post 74 8 

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen hammered three home runs in a Legion baseball win over Brookings on Tuesday. 

Brendan Livermont, Grant Beyer and Zane Backous all clubbed homers. Beyer finished 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, while Backous had two hits and two RBI. Livermont hit a two-run homer. Talan Dutenhoffer finished with three hits. Backous earned the win after striking out four batters, allowing four earned runs and five walks in five innings.

For Brookings, Nolan Miles had two hits and drove in three runs. Owen Schneider finished with two hits and two RBI. Schneider took the loss, allowing eight hits, nine earned runs, four walks and struck out three batters in 3.2 innings. 


Aberdeen Smittys 6, Brookings Post 74 5

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen built a 6-1 lead and held off Brookings for a Legion baseball victory on Tuesday.

Aberdeen’s Drew Salfrank, Cooper Eisenbeisz, Zane Backous, Phillip Zens, Brendan Livermont, Jaxon Ladner and Jared Klootwyk each had hits. Zens and Livermont both drove in two runs. Jackson Welke earned the win, allowing eight hits, three earned runs, three walks and struck out one batter in 6.1 innings. 

For Brookings, Addison Ronning drove in two runs. Nolan Miles had three hits, while Tate Helmboldt, Owen Schneider each had two hits. Zack Struck took the loss, allowing six hits, five earned runs, three walks and struck out one batter in three innings. 


Tabor Post 183 2, Alexandria Post 41 1

ALEXANDRIA — Tabor Post 183 clipped Alexandria Post 41 in Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Jackson Caba led Tabor with two hits and an RBI. Logan Schmidt, Landon Bares and Major Aarstad each had hits. Landon Smith earned the win after allowing two hits, zero earned runs, five walks and struck out two batters in five innings. 

For Alexandria, Jayce Slaba and Carter Popp each had hits. Tyler Sanderson took the loss, allowing four hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out five batters in 5.2 innings.


Legion Post 77 (La.) 13, Groton Post 39 3 (5 innings)

OMAHA, Neb. — Groton’s Bradin Althoff, Colby Dunker and Teylor Diegel each had hits in a Legion baseball loss on Tuesday. 

Jarret Erdmann took the loss after allowing three hits, three earned runs and four walks through 0.2 innings. 

Brayden Hagmann finished with three hits and drove in two runs. Carter Berg earned the win, allowing two hits, two earned runs, walked six batters and struck out two batters in three innings. 


Rapid City Post 320 13, Sturgis Post 33 3 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 320 recorded 10 hits in a five-inning Legion baseball win on Monday.

Jhett Peterson, Nolan Williamson and Ben Dressler had two hits apiece. Tysen Heintzman and Preston Clark drove in two runs apiece. Tegan Sayles and Peterson knocked in runs. Laadon Faatz struck out four batters, allowed six hits, three earned runs and walked one batter in 4.2 innings.

For Sturgis, Jack Knutson, Aidan Wood, Evan Stroud, Brody Royer, Xander Heller and Yaden Miller each had hits. Miller drove in two runs, while Stroud had an RBI. Wood allowed seven hits, eight earned runs, six walks and struck out two batters in three innings. 


Rapid City Post 320 14, Sturgis Post 33 4 (5 innings) 

RAPID CITY — Rapid City’s Maxon Speed recorded four hits in a Legion baseball win on Monday. 

Speed finished 4-for-4, with two doubles, a triple and drove in two runs. Tegan Sayles posted two hits and two RBI. Tysen Heintzman drove in two runs. Nolan Williamson struck out seven batters, allowed three hits, two earned runs and walked three batters in 3.2 innings.

For Sturgis, Jack Knutson had two hits and an RBI. Bridger Massa-Battin drove in two runs. 


Redfield Post 92 4, Clark/Willow Lake Senators 1

CLARK — Redfield’s Jacob Schmitt struck out seven batters in a Legion baseball win on Monday. 

Schmitt allowed three hits, one walk and zero earned runs in a complete-game performance. Noah Johnson and Schmidt each had hits. 

For Clark/Willow Lake, Jakob Steen had two hits and drove in a run. Tyson Huber took the loss, allowing two hits, four earned runs, nine walks and struck out five batters in 2.2 innings. 


Reno A’s (Nev.) 12, Groton Post 39 2 (6 innings)

OMAHA, Neb. — Brevin Fliehs and Dillon Abeln had two hits apiece in Groton Post 39’s Legion baseball loss against Reno, Nevada, on Monday. 

Nick Morris took the loss, allowing five hits, four earned runs, walking two batters and struck out two batters in 2.1 innings of work. 

Reno’s Wade Huntsman earned the win, giving up three hits on two runs over 5.1 innings, striking out 10 batters. 


Minneapolis Northside 5, Groton Post 39 3 

OMAHA, Neb. — Groton Post 39 scored the first three runs, but Minneapolis Northside Legion scored the next five for a Legion baseball win on Monday. 

Groton’s Colby Dunker smacked a two-run homer. Dillon Abeln, Teylor Diegel and Jarret Erdmann each had hits. Abeln took the loss, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and struck out six batters in six innings.  

Minneapolis Northside’s Luis Guttierez had three hits. Nik Nordeen earned the win, striking out nine batters, allowing four hits, three earned runs and walked two batters in a complete-game performance.
