Tabor Bluebirds 15, Lesterville Broncs 8

TABOR — A nine-run seventh inning powered the Bluebirds past Lesterville during Thursday’s South Central League action.

Easton Mudder drove in three runs on two hits and a walk, including a homer in the win, Riley Rothschadl had two hits, a homer, two walks and two RBIs, Chase Kortan drove in two runs on one hit, while Matt Brown, Landon Schmidt, and Sam Caba each collected RBIs on one hit in the win. Brown tossed three shutout innings of relief for the Bluebirds, allowing just two walks while fanning three batters.

For Lesterville, Alex Wagner allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks in 6.1 innings, fanning six batters. Derek Quame drove in a pair of runs on three hits, Ethan Wishon had two RBIs on one hit and one walk while Hunter Martin and Tyler Edler each collected two hits in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 1, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 0

HUMBOLDT — Nathan Adrian’s RBI single was the difference as the Wood Ducks defeated Madison in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

Adrian tallied two hits and an RBI in the win while Keaton Vessells added a double. Logan Larsen struck out 14 batters in a complete game shutout, allowing eight hits.

For Madison, JD Kirchner struck out 10 batters despite the loss, allowing one run on three hits and a walk in eight innings. Heith Williams and Dawson Bakker each collected two hits while Logan Albee, Tyler Tappe, Peyton Wolf and Nate Ricke each tallied hits in the loss.


Parkston Devil Rays 18, Corsica Horned Frogs 6 (8 innings)

CORSICA — The Devil Rays pounded out 17 hits as Parkston took down Corsica in Sunshine League action Thursday.

Carter Sommer batted 4-for-6, Dylan Soulek added three RBIs on two hits and two walks, including a homer, Seth Muth collected two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs, Jake Helleloid added two hits, Doug Sudbeck drove in a run on one hit, Logan Heidinger drove in a pair of runs on a double, while Caden Donahue added three hits, two doubles, and two RBIs in the win. Ty Neugebauer allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in 6.1 innings, fanning 10 batters.

For Corsica, Blake Moke surrendered 10 runs on nine hits and two walks in five innings pitched. Bathan Blom drove in two runs on two hits, Logan Bakker batted 3-for-3 with two walks and a homer, driving in three runs, while Gavin Zomer added an RBI single in the loss.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 5, Parkston Mudcats 2

PARKSTON — Patrick Starr struck out 11 batters as Winner/Colome defeated Parkston in Sunshine League action Thursday.

Starr allowed just two runs on five hits and four walks in nine innings, fanning 11 batters. Derek Graesser drove in a run on two hits and a walk, including a solo homer, Reed Harter added an RBI on one hit, while Drew DeMers, Chandler Bakley, Oscar Pravacek and Zac Olson each collected hits in the win.

For Parkston, Jake Weber took the loss allowing three runs on three hits in six innings of work, fanning two batters. Jeff Harris and Spencer Freudenthal each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Canova Gang 10, Salem Cubs 0 (7 innings)

CANOVA — Canova pounded out 13 hits as the Gang defeated Salem in Cornbelt League action Thursday.

Justin Miller collected three RBIs on one hit, Jackson Remmers added three hits and an RBI, Jared Miller had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Kalub Carmichel tallied two hits and an RBI, Jason Miller and Luke Koepsell each drove in a run on one hit, while Riley Genzlinger, Derek Miller and Garret Gassman each tallied hits in the win. Derek Miller tossed six shutout innings in the win, allowing just four hits and two walks while fanning three batters.

For Salem, Luke Loudenburg allowed 10 runs on 13 hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, striking out four. Jacob Vonberge had two hits in the loss.


Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 18, Flandreau Blue Teal 7 (7 innings)

FLANDREAU — The Gamecocks score in six of the seven innings to beat Flandreau Thursday in Cornbelt League action.

Broc Haldeman tallied three RBIs on two hits, Adam Hentges added three hits, a double, and three RBIs, Noah Vettrus drove in four runs on a double and a walk, Kyle Konechne tallied two hits, two walks and two RBIs, Cam Quigley added two hits and two walks while Tyler Migliante totaled two hits in the win. Carver Hultgren earned the victory on the mound, allowing seven runs on 12 hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out four.

For Flandreau, Tash Lunday took the loss allowing eight runs on six hits and three walks in two innings pitched, striking out two. Lunday added two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Kolby Peters collected two hits and an RBI, Mason Riley tallied three hits while Emmot Nathan tallied two hits in the loss.


Plankinton F&M Bankers 12, Four Corners 2 (7 innings)

PLANKINTON — Drew Gerlach drove in three runs as the Bankers defeated Four Corners in Pony Hills League action Thursday.

Gerlach batted 3-for-5 with three RBIs, Hunter Pranger collected two hits, a walk and two RBIs, Teegan Schlimgen drove in two runs on a homer and two walks, while Marcus Hill and Devin Mehlhaff each tallied an RBI on two hits in the win. Gerlach took the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out six.

For 4C, Jeremy Hand allowed nine runs on eight hits and three walks in three innings, fanning three batters. Jeremy Hand tallied two hits while Kris Dozark and Jason Overweg each collected RBIs on one hit in the loss.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 7, Chamberlain Mallards 1

KIMBALL — Ethan Price struck out 14 batters as Kimball/White defeated Chamberlain during Thursday's Pony Hills League action.

Price allowed just one run on three hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, fanning 14 batters. Jaxon Christensen tallied two hits, a homer, and three RBIs, Caden Lenz collected two hits, Caleb Crist tallied an RBI on one hit, Dylan Konechne drove in a run on a walk while Keaton Christensen added an RBI as well.

For Chamberlain, Timothy Travis allowed seven runs on six hits and five walks in six innings to take the loss, fanning nine batters. Ryan Lovelans drove in a run on one hit while Travis tallied a double and a walk in the loss.


Winner Demons 16, Colome Chaos 3 (7 innings)

COLOME — Winner pounded out 15 hits as the Demons defeated Colome in Pony Hills League action Thursday.

Casey Heenan drove in three runs on a double, Quincy Phillips added two hits and two RBIs, Evan Farner, Kayleb Brozik, and Landon Calhoon each tallied two hits and an RBI, Brady Fritz added three hits and an RBI, while Shane Phillips drove in two runs on a triple as well. Justin Hausmann took the win on the mound allowing three runs on 10 hits and two walks in 6.2 innings, striking out four batters.

For Colome, Carter Brickman allowed nine runs on eight hits and a walk in 1.2 innings, fanning four batters. Shea Connot and Riley Orel each tallied two hits while Eli Vobr, Cameron Biggins and Joey Cole each tallied RBIs on one hit in the loss.


Platte Killer Tomatoes 15, Mitchell Aces 4 (7 innings)

PLATTE — A nine-run inning powered Platte past Mitchell during Thursday’s Sunshine League action.

Richard Sternberg had three hits, a walk and an RBI, Travis Gant tallied three hits and two RBIs, Hunter Hewitt and Preston Nedved each collected two hits and two RBIs, including a homer from Hewitt and two homers from Nedved, Grayson Hanson added two hits, a walk and an RBI, while Michael Buitenbos, Dawson Hoffman and Hayden Kuiper each tallied RBIs on one hit, combining for five walks. Buitenbos earned the victory on the mound, allowing four runs on 10 hits and three walks in seven innings, fanning four batters.

For Mitchell, Ryland Devries took the loss allowing seven runs on seven hits and four walks in 4.2 innings, fanning 10 batters. Lincoln Bates tallied two hits,a double, a walk and an RBI, Conor Mattke had two hits and two RBIs while Carter Miller totaled two hits in the loss.

 

Mount Vernon Mustangs 10, Dimock/Emery Raptors 1

EMERY — Deric Denning struck out nine batters as the Mustangs took down Dimock/Emery during Thursday’s Sunshine League action.

Denning allowed just one run on eight hits and four walks in a complete game, striking out nine batters. Bradley Dean drove in two runs on a homer and a walk, Brady Albrecht collected two hits,a double, and two RBIs, Eric Giblin and Denning each collected an RBI on one hit and one walk, Austin Graves drove in a run on one hit, Daniel Laufman added an RBI on one walk while Chase Hetland recorded a hit and two walks in the win.

For DImock/Emery, Drew Kitchens allowed six runs on six hits and three walks in four innings of work, striking out four. Cole Knippling and Bryce Smart each tallied two hits, Sam Piscke tallied an RBI walk, while Colton Plagmann, Chase Arend, Kitchens and Steve Ernster each tallied hits in the loss.


Harrisburg Woodies 7, Sioux Falls Brewers 0

SIOUX FALLS — The Woodies collected 13 hits as Harrisburg defeated the Sioux Falls Brewers in Sioux Empire League action Thursday.

Tyler Mitzel batted a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, Kole Zimmerman added two doubles and three RBIs, Nathan Motl batted 3-for-4 with a double, Maddux Sherer tallied two hits while Jack Sutton and Isaac Loosmore each tallied a hit in the win. Palmer Boyd tossed five shutout innings in the win for the Woodies, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out three.

For the Brewers, Drue Soukup allowed one run on five hits in four innings pitched, striking out five to take the loss. Riley Johnson, Alejandro Cortina and Andrew Langner each tallied hits in the loss.


Baltic River Dawgs 10, Brandon Belugas 8

BALTIC — Tristian Fitzsimmons drove in three runs as Baltic took down Brandon in Sioux Empire League action Thursday.

Fitzsimmons tallied three RBIs on two hits and two walks, Kooper Perry added a double, triple, walk, and two RBIs, Dalton Garbers collected two RBIs on a walk and a homer, while Brycen Top tallied a hit and a walk in the win. Jon Wilhelmsen slammed the door in the ninth inning to take the win on the mound, striking out all three batters faced.

For Brandon, Jack Nesje allowed seven runs on six hits and four walks in four innings, fanning four batters. Dawson Mork collected two hits, Joe Lund drove in two runs on one hit, Cole Frisbie powered two hits and two RBIs while Payton Brown drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Renner Monarchs 11, Brookings Cubs 9

BROOKINGS — The Monarchs scored eight unanswered runs to stun the Brookings Cubs in Sioux Empire League action Thursday.

David Borchardt drove in four runs on two hits, a double, and a walk, Corey Vasquez added two hits, a triple, walk and two RBIs, Chaz Palmer collected two hits, a double, two walks and an RBI, Aiden Ladd hit a two-run homer, Adam Durfee collected an RBI on a triple while Tony Lanier tallied a hit and two walks in the win. Borchardt allowed one run on three hits in 7.1 innings to earn the victory on the mound.

For Brookings, Arlen Peters allowed six runs on four hits and three walks in four innings, striking out three batters. Rhett Zelinsky and Noah Buss each tallied an RBI on two hits, including a homer by Zelinsky, Isaac Bonner, Parker Winghart and Myles Rees each tallied RBIs on one hit, Tucker Wookey and Nolan Miles each drove in runs on a walk while Peters added two hits in the loss.
