Parkston 14, Platte-Geddes 4 (6 innings)

PLATTE — Carter Sommer drove in three runs as Parkston defeated Platte-Geddes in mercy rule fashion Friday.

Sommer drove in three runs on three hits, including a double, James Deckert, Mason Jervik and Johnny Weber each drove in a run on one hit, Kolter Kramer drove in a run on a walk, while Carson Bueber, Taite Klumb and Kash Neugebauer each tallied hits in the win. Sommer also earned the victory on the mound tossing 2.2 shutout innings, fanning five batters.

For PG, Hayden Sprik allowed seven runs on four hits and nine walks in four innings pitched, striking out seven to take the loss. Quincy Stephens and Sprik each tallied RBIs on one hit, Jye Bailey added an RBI on a walk, while Maddux VanZee, Ashton Krumvieda and Parker Bailey each tallied hits in the loss.


Wagner 6, Salem 0

SALEM — Five Wagner pitchers combined to allow just one hit as Wagner defeated Salem in legion baseball action Friday.

Joey Cournoyer allowed the lone hit and a walk, while Frank Soukup led all Wagner pitchers with three strikeouts in the win. Cournoyer added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Hunter Loeffler tallied a hit, RBI, and a walk, Landon Mudder drove in a run on one hit, while Carter Cournoyer and Trasin Dilts each drove in a run on a walk in the win.

For Salem, Zane McCormick allowed six runs on two hits and seven walks in three innings pitched, fanning six batters. Parker Randall tallied the only hit of the game for Salem.


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 8, Big Stone City 0 (6 innings)

MILBANK — Brayden Kroll tossed a one-hitter in Warner/Ipswich/Northville’s win over Big Stone City during Friday’s American Legion Heritage Classic.

Kroll allowed just one hit while striking out three batters in just 61 pitches. Alec Mikkelson drove in three runs on a triple, Mac Heinz and Chays Mansfield each collected two hits while Beckett Halvorson drove in two runs on one hit as well.

For BSC, Isaac Brown allowed six runs on five hits and four walks in five innings of work, fanning five batters. Braxton Brandriet tallied the lone hit of the game for the Badgers.


Groton 11, Lake Norden/Badger 4 (6 innings)

MILBANK — Nick Morris drove in four runs as Groton defeated Lake Norden/Bagder at the American Legion Heritage Classic Friday.

Morris drove in four runs on two hits, Korbin Kucker, Brevin Fliehs and Carter Simon each tallied an RBI on one hit while Gavin Englund drove in a run on a walk in the win. Kucker allowed four runs on two hits and seven walks in four innings, fanning eight batters to earn the victory on the mound.

For LN/B, Rylan Thue allowed one run on one hit and three walks to take the loss, fanning four batters. Ted Smith drove in two runs on one hit and one walk while Caleb Drenth added a hit in the loss.


Volga 9, Redfield 6 (5 innings)

MILBANK — Volga drove in nine runs on nine hits as it defeated Redfield during Friday’s American Legion Heritage Classic.

Jake Burns and Tate Steffenson each tallied two RBIs on two hits, Kam Hauck added two RBIs on one hit, Isaac Skovlund and Ethan Axtell each tallied RBIs on one hit, Braden Danzeisen totaled an RBI while B Milton and Levi Loban each collected a hit in the win. Hauck tossed all five innings for Volga, allowing just six runs on 10 hits and four walks while fanning three batters.

For Redfield, Kevin Weller allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks in 1.2 innings pitched. Eli Morrissette and Chase Odland each drove in a run on two hits, including a homer by Morrissette, Hunter Binger collected two RBIs on a single, while Zach Bonin had an RBI double in the loss.


Castlewood 4, Lake Norden/Badger 1

MILBANK — Kaden Nedved struck out nine batters as Castlewood defeated Lake Norden/Badger at the American Legion Heritage Classic Friday.

Nedved allowed just one unearned run on four hits, striking out nine batters. Talen Olson drove in two runs on one hit while Jarin Eidson added a hit in the win for Castlewood.

For Lake Norden/Badger, Ted Smith allowed four runs on one hit and four walks in three innings pitched, striking out seven. Riggs Prouty drove in a run on two hits, while Kamden Keszler and Dawson Noem each collected one hit, including a double by Keszler, in the loss.


Volga 11, Sisseton 1 (4 innings)

MILBANK — Three batters each drove in multiple runs for Volga in its American Legion Heritage Classic win over Sisseton Friday.

Braden Danzeisen drove in three runs on two hits, one double, Ethan Axtell added two hits and two RBIs, Broden Teske collected two RBIs on a double, Tate Steffenson tallied three hits, a walk and an RBI, while Bret Milton and Kellon Tucker each collected a hit and an RBI in the win. Andrew Gunderson took the win on the mound allowing one run on two hits and a walk in three innings pitched, striking out two.

For Sisseton, Carter Strickland allowed 11 runs on 11 hits and four walks in 3.2 innings, fanning three batters. Levi Nelson and Hughin Current each collected hits in the loss.


Lennox 7, Elk Point/Jefferson 5

ELK POINT — Mason Reischl and Justin Butler each drove in a pair of runs as Lennox defeated Elk Point/Jefferson in legion baseball action Friday.

Reischl and Butler each drove in two runs on one hit, Talen Eich added two hits, a double, a walk, and an RBI, while Gabe Veurink had two hits in the win. Cole Spieler took the win on the mound allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings pitched, fanning seven batters.

For EPJ, Wyatt Herrity allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks in three innings. Keaton Gale tallied three hits, a double and a triple, driving in one run, Levi Hanson tallied two hits, a walk, and an RBI, while Grayson Girard, Ethan Bovill and Trey VanderWeerdt each collected RBIs on one hit in the loss.


Huron 5, Rapid City Post 320 4

HURON — Huron earned a walk-off win on an error to beat Rapid City Post 320 in legion action Friday.

Cooper Bischoff tallied two hits and an RBI, Oakley Anderson added a hit, walk, and an RBI, Trace Wenz tallied two hits, one double, while Anderson Porisch and Layne Wenzel each collected a hit in the win. Brady Feenstra earned the victory on the mound, allowing four runs on 11 hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out three.

For RC Post 320, Nolan Williamson allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks in 6.1 innings, striking out four. Ayden Byrd tallied three hits, a triple and an RBI, Colton Mehlhaff had two RBIs on a double, Morgan Delapena tallied an RBI on a hit, while Jonah Blake and Tegan Sayles each collected two hits in the loss.


Huron 8, Rapid City Post 320 5

HURON — A six-run first inning powered Huron to a legion baseball victory Friday.

Bubba Peterson and Cooper Bischoff each collected two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Logan Leyendecker tallied a hit and two RBIs, Anderson Porisch had a hit and an RBI while Trace Wenz had three hits in the win. Peterson took the win on the mound allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks in a complete outing, striking out five.

For RC Post 320, Anders Lockhart allowed eight runs on nine hits and two walks in three innings. Colton Mehlhaff and Noah Wald each tallied two hits and an RBI while Tegan Sayles drove in two runs on one hit in the loss.


Renner 11, BMW (Minn.) 3

MARSHALL, MINN. — Six different players drove in a run as Renner picked up a Legion baseball win Friday.

Jackson Bjorkman tallied two hits, two RBIs, and a walk, Brody Jacobson had two hits, two walks and an RBI, Rylan Arbogast and Patrick Barnett each collected an RBI on one hit and a combined three walks, while Sam Donohoe and Zach Barr each had RBIs on one hit. Parker Scheidt took the win on the mound tossing seven strikeouts in three shutout innings.
