Burke Bombers 5, Winner Demons 0 (7 innings)

BURKE — JJ Farner struck out 13 strikeouts as Burke shutout Winner in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Farner allowed just one hit and two walks in 6.2 innings, striking out 13 batters in the win. Ben Witt drove in a run on two hits, one double, Gannon Thomas and Brogan Glover each drove in a run on one hit, Aaron Sundquist tallied an RBI while Rylan Peck, Hunter Van Niewenhuyse, Sawyer Tietgen and Dan Jons each tallied a hit in the win.

For Winner, Evan Farner allowed five unearned runs on eight hits in six innings of work, striking out six. Landon Calhoon tallied the only hit of the game for the Demons.


Parkston Devil Rays 10, Parkston Mudcats 0 (7 innings)

PARKSTON — Jake Helleloid tossed seven strong innings as the Parkston Devil Rays defeated the Mudcats in Sunshine League action Sunday.

Helleloid allowed just one hit and one walk in seven shutout innings, striking out 11 batters in the win. Ty Neugebauer drove in three runs on a homer, adding a walk, Dylan Soulek tallied two RBIs on a double and a homer, Caden Donahue launched a solo homer, James Deckert drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Logan Heidinger and Nolan Dvorak each tallied two hits and a walk, while Seth Muth drove in a run on a walk in the win.

For the Mudcats, Max Scott allowed eight runs on six hits and four walks in 2.1 innings, striking out three batters. Luke Bormann tallied the only hit of the game for the Mudcats.


Flandreau Cardinals 12, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 5 (7 innings)

HUMBOLDT — Bret Severtson struck out 13 batters as Flandreau defeated Hartford/Humboldt in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Severtson tossed a complete game on the mound allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out 13 batters in the win. Noel Burgos batted 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, Austin Koenig added two hits and three RBIs, Jacob Patterson tallied three RBIs on a hit and two walks, Keith Cutler and Beau Severtson each tallied two hits, Curt Anderson drove in a run on one hit, while JaColby Anderson netted two RBIs on a hit and a walk in the win.

For HH, Derek Renken allowed three runs on one hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out three. Brayden Odegaard drove in all five runs on three hits, including a grand slam in the sixth inning in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 7, Canova Gang 3 (7 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Drew Sweeter’s three-RBI game lifted top-ranked Dell Rapids PBR past Canova in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Sweeter tallied two hits, including a double, while driving in three runs in the win, Tanner Solberg and Conner Spindler each drove in a run on two hits while Trey Randel added an RBI on one hit. Brett Mogen took the win on the mound in three shutout innings, allowing just a hit and a walk while fanning two batters.

For Canova, Luke Koepsell surrendered four runs on six hits and a walk in four innings, striking out two in the loss. Jared and Derek Miller each drove in a run on one hit, including a solo home run for Jared Miller, in the loss.


Castlewood Ravens 13, Ramona Express 1 (8 innings)

RAMONA — Castlewood pounded out 13 hits as the Ravens defeated Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Gus Steiger batted 4-for-6 with a double, homer, and two RBIs, Kellen Benck added three hits, a double, and two walks, Blayne Schliesman tallied three RBIs on a double, Booker Schooley tallied a hit, walk and an RBI, Alex Gauer collected a double, two walks and an RBI, Kegan Tvedt added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Chris Lather tallied an RBI on a single while Hunter Smith and Lucas Ching each tallied RBIs on a combined two walks in the win. Kyler Tvedt took the win on the mound allowing one run on six hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out 10.

For Ramona, Kadyn Gehrels allowed 10 runs on 11 hits and six walks in 7.1 innings, fanning nine batters. Aaron Schlosser led the Express with three hits, a double, and an RBI in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 12, Irene Cardinals 4 (7 innings)

IRENE — A seven-run sixth inning powered the Yankton Lakers to a South Central League victory over Irene Sunday.

Mitch Gullickson drove in two runs on two hits, Lucas Kampshoff drove in three runs on two hits, Evan Steiner, Waylon McNight, and Josh Sheldon each tallied two hits and an RBI, Colin Zahrbock added two RBIs on one hit, Mac Ryken tallied an RBI on one hit while Will Rauch collected three hits in the win. Hudson Waldow earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on 3.1 innings, striking out three.

For Irene, Jake DeLange took the loss allowing 11 runs on 13 hits and four walks in 5.1 innings, striking out three. Jacob Kribell tallied two RBIs on two hits, including a double, Cole Edberg added an RBI on a solo home run, while Bryant Knodel tallied two hits in the loss.


Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 12, Colman Argali 1 (7 innings)

COLMAN — Joe Hanisch drove in three runs as Humboldt/Hartford defeated Colman in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Hanisch tallied three runs on two doubles, Cam Quigley added two doubles and two RBIs, Adam Hentjes totaled two RBIs on a double, while Jonah Rechtenbaugh and Noah Vettrus each collected RBIs on one hit in the win as well. Cole Bathel took the victory on the mound in six strong innings, allowing one run on three hits and five walks.

For Colman, Colt Hawkins drove in the lone run on one hit, while Carter Roach and Chase DeWitt each tallied hits in the loss. Chris Burke took the loss allowing 10 runs on six hits and a walk in three innings, striking out two.


Flandreau Blue Teal 18, Dell Rapids Mudcats 5 (5 innings)

FLANDREAU — The Blue Teal pounded out 19 hits as Flandreau took down Dell Rapids in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Kolby Peters powered the offense with five RBIs on three hits, two doubles, and a walk, Emmot Nathan drove in four runs on three hits, Mason Riley added three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Michael Witte batted 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Tash Lunday and Sam Gassman each drove in two runs on two hits, while Tristan Peters tallied an RBI on two hits in the win. Nathan took the win on the mound allowing five runs on four hits and five walks in five innings pitched, striking out seven.

For DR, John Spaeth allowed 10 runs on nine hits in one inning pitched to take the loss. Jake Goble batted 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs in the loss.


Volga Cormorants 15, Estelline Merchants 0 (5 innings)

VOLGA — Randy Santema drove in five runs as Volga defeated Estelline in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Santema batted 3-for-4 with five RBIs, Cole Gross added two hits and two RBIs, Bayley Colemer batted 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Jordan Kathol and Michael Larson each drove in a run on one hit, while Connor Gross and Noah Puetz each tallied one hit and one walk in the win. Kyler Bezdichek took the win on the mound in 2.2 innings of work, allowing three walks.

For Estelline, Isaac Schulte allowed 10 runs on 13 hits and five walks in 4.2 innings, striking out four. Jake Peterson tallied the only hit of the game for the Merchants.


Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 13, Beresford Blues 0 (5 innings)

BERESFORD — Isaac Bambas tossed five shutout innings in Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing’s win over Beresford in State Line League action Sunday.

Bambas allowed just three hits and one hit batter in five shutout innings, striking out three to take the win on the mound. Nick Zabel drove in two runs on two hits, Peyton Garbers drove in two runs on a homer and two walks, Aiden McCafferty tallied two hits, a double and a homer, a walk, and an RBI, Bambas and Wyatt Adam each drove in a run on one hit, including two walks from Adam, Levi Parker drove in a pair of runs on two walks,  Quentin Evers added two walks and an RBI, while Ashton Bach added a hit, two walks, and an RBI in the win.

For Beresford, Zach Boden took the loss allowing six runs on four hits and four walks in 2.1 innings, striking out three. Zach Gass, Sam Thorson and Jax Fichbohm each tallied a hit in the loss.


Redfield Dairy Queen 19, Northville Merchants 6 (7 innings)

REDFIELD — Bennett Osborn and Noah Hainy each drove in four runs as Redfield DQ defeated Northville during Sunday’s Northern Plains League action Sunday.

Osborn batted 2-for-4 with a homer, driving in four runs while Hainy batted 2-for-4 with a walk, home run, and four RBIs as well. Keaton Rohlfs drove in three runs on four hits, Peyton Osborn added a homer and two walks, driving in two runs, Brent Osborn added a hit and two RBIs, Camden Osborn collected four hits and an RBI on a solo homer, while Nathan Hainy collected two hits in the win. Noah Hainy took the win on the mound, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in four innings of work, fanning 11 batters.

For Northville, Max Waltman allowed 14 runs on 10 hits and three walks in 3.1 innings, striking out four. Ashton Remily drove in a run on three hits, E Beyers added an RBI on one hit, while Mac Heinz tallied two RBIs on one hit in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 4, Flandreau Cardinals 3 (7 innings)

HUMBOLDT — The Wood Ducks scored two runs in the seventh inning to stun Flandreau in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Rayce Whiting tallied an RBI on two hits, including a double, Hayden Whiting drove in a run on one hit, Camden McDonald added an RBI, while Keaton Vessells tallied two hits in the win. Jearl Jesson took the win on the mound allowing one unearned run on four hits and a walk in four innings pitched, striking out five.

For Flandreau, Curt Anderson took the loss allowing one run on three hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, fanning three batters. Bret Severtson tallied two hits while Jacob Patterson drove in a run on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 17, Irene Cardinals 1 (7 innings)

IRENE — Yankton pounded out 15 hits as the Lakers swept Irene in a double header Sunday.

Will Rauch led the Lakers batting 3-for-3 with a double, two homers, and five RBIs, Cade Subeck added three hits, a homer, and four RBIs, Drew Ryken tallied three RBIs on two doubles, Colin Zahrbock added an RBI on a triple and a walk, Hudson Waldow tallied two walks and an RBI, Waylon McNight collected two RBIs on one hit, while Lucas Kampshoff collected two hits and a walk in the win. Kieren Luellman took the win on the mound allowing one unearned run on four hits and a walk in five innings pitched, striking out six.

For Irene, Garrett Jorgensen took the loss allowing six runs on four hits and two walks. Alex Kopf, Dustin Livingston, Cole Edberg and Preston Gall each tallied a hit in the loss for the Cardinals.


Canova Gang 3, Dell Rapids PBR 2 (7 innings)

CANOVA — Kendall Gassman grounded into a fielder’s choice to earn Canova a walk-off win over Dell Rapids PBR Sunday.

Gassmann drove in two runs on one hit, Justin Miller tallied two hits and a walk, Derek Miller drove in a run on a double, Kendall Gassman drove in two runs on one hit while Riley Genzlinger tallied a double in the win. Jared Miller took the win on the mound allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in seven innings pitched, striking out nine batters.

For PBR, Drew Sweeter took the loss allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in 2.2 innings. Brayden Pankonen, Sweeter, Zack Puetz, Conner Spindler, and Riley Calhoon each tallied hits in the loss.


Mount Vernon Mustangs 19, Mitchell Aces 15

MOUNT VERNON — Chase Hetland launched two home runs as Mount Vernon pulled away from Mitchell in a Sunshine League marathon Sunday.

Hetland drove in seven runs on three hits, including two homers, Brady Albrecht added three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Spencer Neugebauer drove in three runs on a double, Bradley Dean tallied an RBI on three hits and a walk, Eric Giblin collected three hits and a walk, Cody Cavanaugh drove in a run on a double, Deric Denning added two RBIs on two walks, while Austin Graves tallied an RBI on two hits and a walk in the win. Giblin earned the victory on the mound, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and a walk in six innings pitched, fanning three batters.

For Mitchell, Peyton Mandel allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk in two innings. Lincoln Bates drove in five runs on three hits, including two home runs, Hudson Borgan drove in two runs on three hits, Karter Sibson tallied two RBIs on two hits, a homer, and a walk, Colin Stange added two hits, a double, and an RBI, Carter Miller added three hits while Conor Mattke tallied two hits in the loss for the Aces.


Plankinton Bankers 10, Wessington Springs Owls 0 (7 innings)

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Thomas Stange tossed seven shutout innings as Plankinton defeated Wessington Springs in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Stange allowed just three hits in seven innings, striking out six batters. Blaine Bohr drove in three runs on three hits, including a double and a homer, Teegan Schlimgen drove in two runs on a homer and a walk, Cain Tobin collected two RBIs on a hit, Stange added an RBI on two hits, while Drew Gerlach and Cole Pranger each tallied two hits in the win.

For WS, Mason Schelske allowed eight runs on 10 hits and three walks in six innings pitched, striking out three. Camden Jost, Trevor Kenobbie and Dalton Mogck each tallied hits in the loss.


Milbank Firechiefs 4, Elkton Snappers 2

MILBANK — Dom Boerger struck out 20 batters as Milbank defeated Elkton during Sunday’s Eastern Dakota League action.

Boerger allowed just two runs on six hits and a walk in a complete game shutout, striking out 20 batters. Merik Junker led the Firechiefs offense with two RBIs on a double, while Taylor Boerger and Kellen Hoeke each tallied hits in the win.

For Elkton, Dylan Gillespie allowed four runs on three hits and four walks in seven innings, fanning eight batters. Gillespie drove in two runs on two hits, including a homer, Aidan Stewart tallied two hits while Owen Cass and Dave Bierman each collected hits in the loss.


Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 9, Colman Argali 7 (7 innings)

COLMAN — Adam Hentges powered the Gamecocks to a win over Colman in game two of Sunday’s double header.

Hentges drove in three runs on three hits in the win, Cam Quigley, Jonah Rechtenbaugh and Joe Hanisch each tallied two hits and an RBI, including a solo homer from Quigley, Tyler Miglante drove in a run on one hit while Cooper Maras added two RBIs on one hit and one walk in the win. Quigley earned the victory on the mound allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in 4.1 innings, fanning two batters.

For Colman, Paul Clark took the loss allowing nine runs on 11 hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. Adam Fritz drove in two runs on a hit and walk while Carter Roach tallied an RBI on one hit and one walk in the loss. Chris Burke and Lance DeWitt each tallied two hits as well.


Four Corners 13, Faulkton Hitmen 5

FAULKTON — Four Corners blasted four home runs as it defeated Faulkton in non-league action Sunday.

Andrew Coverdale drove in three runs on two hits, one home run, Brad Hand added two hits, a homer, and two RBIs, Garret Stout collected two hits, including a solo home run, Jeremy Hand added three hits, one homer, and three RBIs, Austin Hand added two hits, Mike Hand collected two hits and an RBI, Cole Hand netted an RBI on a hit and a walk, while Sam Hand tallied two hits and an RBI ion the win. Austin Hand led the pitching effort with five innings of work, allowing two hits and six walks while striking out three.

For Faulkton, Carson Stephenson allowed 12 runs on 14 hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out six. Gunner Brueggeman drove in two runs on two hits and two walks, Rafael Clemente tallied two walks and an RBI, Stephenson totaled two walks, a hit, and an RBI while Ryan Engle added a hit in the loss.


Crofton (Neb.) Bluejays 10, Freeman Blacksox 6

CROFTON — Zach Hegge drove in three runs as Crofton defeated Freeman in South Central League action Sunday.

Hegge drove in three runs on three hits, Justin Potts added an RBI on a hit and two walks, Colton Schieffer and Andy Knapp each tallied RBIs on one hit while Scott Wiebelhaus tallied two hits and a walk in the win. Hegge allowed just two runs on four hits and a walk in two innings, striking out four.

For Freeman, Jackson Fiegen allowed five runs on eight hits and five walks in 7.2 innings, striking out seven. Bailey Sage drove in a run on three hits, Jake Weier added two RBIs on two hits, Riley Schetter and Colton Spader each drove a run on one hit, while Fiegen added two hits in the loss.

 

Platte Killer Tomatoes 7, Dimock/Emery Raptors 5

EMERY — Grant Doom powered Platte on both sides of the plate as the Killer Tomatoes defeated Dimock/Emery during Sunday’s Sunshine League action.

Doom took the victory on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing five runs on nine hits and seven walks, striking out 14 batters in the win. Doom also batted 3-for-4 with a walk, homer, and two RBIs, Hunter Hewitt had two hits, a homer, and an RBI, Dawson Hoffman added one solo home run, Richard Sternberg collected an RBI on one hit, Michael Buitenbos had two hits and an RBI, while Grayson Hanson tallied an RBI single in the win as well.

For DE, Braydon Kreofsky allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings pitched, striking out nine in the loss. Jason Schmidt and Chase Arend each tallied two hits and an RBI, Landon Waddell had two hits while Phil Johnson, Josh Engquist and Sam Arend each tallied a hit in the loss.

 

Chamberlain Mallards 12, Colome Chaos 6

CHAMBERLAIN — Dakota Munger led Chamberlain to a Pony Hills League victory Sunday.

Munger batted 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBIs, while tossing 11 strikeouts in 7.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk. Timothy Travis added three RBIs on two hits, Kyle Forester drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Sawyer Donovan added an RBI on two hits while Sandler Wiekamp and Ian Anderson each collected two hits in the win.

For Colome, Kevin Carter allowed nine runs on 10 hits and a walk in 6.2 innings, fanning four batters. Carter tallied two RBIs on one hit, Carter Brickman added three hits and an RBI, Jake Luse tallied an RBI on two hits while Sratton Morehart had two hits in the loss.


Harrisburg Woodies 6, Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 5

HARRISBURG — Mark Abrahamson’s RBI single keeps Harrisburg’s undefeated season alive after walking it off against the Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels Sunday.

Abrahamson tallied three hits, a double, and an RBI in the win, Dalton Lehnen added two RBIs on a homer and two walks, Maddux Scherer totaled two hits and an RBI, Tyler Mitzel added two hits, one double, while Jack Sutton and Isaac Loosmoore each tallied one hit, one walk, and one RBI in the win. Josh Baumgart earned the win on the mound, allowing one hit in one inning of relief, striking out two.

For SF, Connor Hurley allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 1.2 innings, fanning four batters. Trevor Hurley tallied three hits, a homer, walk, and three RBIs, Jaxen DeHann drove in a pair of runs on two hits, including a homer, while Zach Dibble and Jack Simonsen each tallied two hits in the loss.
