Winner/Colome 12, Parkston Devil Rays 0 (7 innings)

WINNER — Winner/Colome shutout the Parkston Devil Rays in Sunshine League amateur baseball action on Thursday. 

Drew DeMers and Reed Harter recorded three hits apiece, while DeMers drove in three runs. Harter knocked in two runs. Austin Calhoon and Zach Harter added two hits and one RBI apiece. Chandler Bakley, Dillon Lambley and Trevor Salmonson each had hits. J.J. Farner earned the win after eight strikeouts, four hits allowed and two walks through seven innings.

For Parkston, Landon Sudbeck had two of the team’s four hits. Brayden Jervik and Logan Heidinger each had hits. Caleb Titze took the loss after allowing nine hits, seven earned runs, six walks and had one strikeout in his 4.1-inning start. 


Mount Vernon 12, Parkston Mudcats 9

PARKSTON — Mount Vernon received 17 hits from eight different players en route to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Spencer Neugebauer led the Mustangs with four hits and one RBI. Cam Deinert added three hits and one RBI. Chase Hetland, Bradley Dean, Eric Giblin and Koby Larson had two hits apiece. Dean drove in three runs, while Giblin added two RBI. Deric Denning and Briggs Havlik each had hits, while Havlik drove in two runs. Dean earned the win after allowing five hits, two earned runs, five walks and three strikeouts in his five-inning start.

For Parkston, Billy Hamilton finished with three hits and two RBI. Luke Bormann added two hits and three RBI. Jeff Harris, Cole Knippling and Kaleb Weber had two hits apiece. Jake Weber took the loss after allowing 14 hits, nine earned runs, one walk and struck out five batters in his six-inning start. 


Plankinton 10, Four Corners 7

PLANKINTON — Plankinton plated 10 runs through three innings and held on for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Cain Tobin led the Bankers with three hits and three RBI. Blaine Bohr and Thomas Stange added two hits and two RBI apiece. Hunter Pranger and Ryland DeVries each had hits. Devin Mehlhaff earned the win after five strikeouts, four hits allowed, one earned run and three walks in seven innings.

Josh Davies took the loss for Four Corners. He gave up six hits, seven earned runs, four walks and struck out two batters in three innings. 

 

Wessington Springs 5, Chamberlain 0

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Wessington Springs’ Terrek Butterfield threw a three-hit shutout against Chamberlain in Pony Hills League amateur baseball action on Thursday. 

Butterfield struck out 11 batters and issued one walk through 120 pitches. Dalton Mogck had a team-high two hits. Cade Mohling, Landon Cleveland, Butterfield and Parker DeJean each had hits. 

For Chamberlain, Matt Hilson, Ian Anderson and Adam Schroeder each had hits. Schroeder took the loss after allowing six hits, four earned runs, seven walks and struck out 12 batters in his eight-inning start. 

 

Kimball/White Lake 16, Colome 6 (7 innings)

KIMBALL — Kimball/White Lake collected 16 hits in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Trent Wookey logged four hits and drove in a run. Eathen Gaulke added three hits and three RBI. Caden Lenz and Zak Wallner had two hits apiece, while Wallner had three RBI. Blake Leiferman, Wes Kroupa, Brian Zeman, Jesse Kroupa and Turner Blasius each had hits. Blasius drove in two runs. 

For Colome, Carter Brickman logged three hits and drove in one run. Ethan Vobr and Hunter Van Nieuwenhuyse and Cameron Biggins had two hits apiece.
