Dell Rapids Mudcats 4, Dell Rapids PBR 0

DELL RAPIDS — Jake Goble and Nolan Burchill combined to throw a four-hit shutout as the Dell Rapids Mudcats blanked rival Dell Rapids PBR in Cornbelt League amateur baseball action on Friday. 

Goble struck out five batters, allowed two hits and walked two batters in six innings for the win. Burchill struck out three batters, allowed two hits and issued zero walks in three scoreless relief innings for the save. 

Offensively, seven different players tallied hits for the Mudcats. Burchill and Chad Hunt each drove in runs, while Ty Hoglund, Drake Eastman, Goble, Austin Henry and Grant Olson each had hits.

For PBR, Chris Kropuenske, Trey Randel, Beau Behrend and Riley Calhoon each had hits. Brett Mogen took the loss, allowing seven hits, two earned runs, zero walks and struck out seven batters. 


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 11, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 1 (8 innings)

HUMBOLDT — Jonah Rechtenbaugh struck out 15 batters as the Gamecocks defeated the Wood Ducks in a Hartford/Humboldt showdown Friday.

Rechtenbaugh allowed just five hits and a walk in eight shutout innings, striking out 15 to take the win on the mound. Joe Hanisch tallied three hits and an RBI, Adam Hentges tallied three RBIs on a hit and two walks, Cam Quigley drove in a run on a hit and two walks, while Devon Garry and C Morrison each tallied two hits in the win as well.

For the Wood Ducks, Derek Renken allowed one run on three hits and five walks in five innings of work, striking out two in the loss. Brayden Odegaard, Jearl Jesson, Andrew Zimmer, Seth Kuno, Camden McDonald and Jacob Ellens each had one hit in the loss.


Garretson Blue Jays 10, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 4

GARRETSON — Garretson built an early nine-run lead to beat Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing in State Line League action Friday.

The Blue Jays were led by Sam Siegel tallying three hits, two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs, Trey Buckneberg added two hits, a double, and an RBI, Dylan Kindt had an RBI on a triple and a walk, Brady Bonte totaled two RBIs on a double, Scott Splett drew two walks, driving in a run, Nick Bonte had two RBIs on a hit and two walks, while Tayson Swatek had two hits in the win. Cole Koch led Garretson on the mound allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in six innings, striking out four.

For LCW, Conner Eich allowed six runs on five hits and six walks in four innings pitched, striking out five. Peyton Garbers drove in a pair of runs on a double and a homer, Brett Duncan had an RBI on two doubles and a walk, while Levi Parker and Wyatt Adam each tallied a hit in the loss.

 

Milbank Firechiefs 19, Clark Traders 4 (8 innings)

CLARK — Milbank pounded out 19 hits as the Firechiefs defeated Clark in Eastern Dakota League action Friday.

Brady Krause had three RBIs on two hits, including a double, Dom Boerger collected three hits and an RBI, Kellen Hoeke had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Brady Femling netted four hits, a double, homer, and three RBIs, Merik Junker collected two hits, including a solo home run, Taylor Boerger had a two-run homer for the Firechiefs, while Kaden Krause and Tanner Hallquist each tallied two hits in the win. Taylor Boerger earned the victory on the mound allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings, striking out five batters.

For Clark, Zach Toben allowed eight runs on 10 hits and two walks in four innings pitched, striking out three. Toben drove in two runs on a double for the Traders, Jakob Steen and Jay Huber each drove in a run on one hit while Brent Griffith and Zach Winter each tallied two hits and one double in the loss.


Brandon Belugas 7, Baltic River Dawgs 2

BRANDON — Daniel Buteyn struck out 11 batters as Brandon defeated Baltic in Sioux Empire League action Friday.

Buteyn gave up just one hit in 3.2 shutout innings, recording all 11 outs on strikeouts for the win on the mound. Charlie Holm drove in a run on four hits, including a double, Dawson Mork and Theo Giedd each drove in a run on two hits, including a double by Mork, Tyler Sandulte collected two hits, a triple, and two walks while Jackson Adams added an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Baltic, Tate Fuecht allowed six runs on nine hits in five walks in six innings, striking out seven.
