Rapid City Post 22 16, Pierre Post 8 5

PIERRE — Harrison Good and Alex Dietrich hammered home runs as Rapid City Post 22 picked up a Game 1 win over Pierre Post 8 on Wednesday in Legion baseball action. 

Dietrich finished 4 of 4 and drove in five runs. Good added two hits. Ridge Inhofer and Aiden Roberts both had two hits apiece. Palmer Jacobs earned the win after scattering seven hits, allowing five earned runs, two walks and struck out three batters in his three-inning start. 

For Pierre, Matthew Hanson finished 3 of 4. Miles Doyle took the loss after allowing 10 hits, nine earned runs, two walks and striking out five batters in his 3.1-inning start.

Pierre Post 8 12, Rapid City Post 22 9

PIERRE — Jett Zabel struck out seven batters to help Pierre Post 8 pick up a Game 2 win over Rapid City Post 22 on Wednesday in Legion baseball action. 

Zabel allowed six hits, five runs (three earned) and three walks in his 5.2-inning start. Zabel added two hits and drove in two runs at the plate. 

Matthew Coverdale logged three hits and three RBI for Pierre. Matthew Hanson and Carter Sanderson each had two hits. 

For Rapid City, Alex Dietrich had two hits, drove in five runs and crushed a grand slam. Aiden Roberts posted two hits, while Zeke Farlee drove in two runs. Lee Neugebauer took the loss after allowing seven hits, seven earned runs, two walks and struck out three batters in his two-inning start. 


Sioux Falls Post 15 5, Yankton Post 12 4

YANKTON — Sioux Falls Post 15 scored the final five runs to edge Yankton Post 12 in Wednesday Legion baseball action. 

Dylan Rippentrop and Tristan Fitzsimmons had two hits apiece for Post 15. Rippentrop drove in three runs. Lincoln Vasgaard earned the win after striking out five batters, allowing six hits, four earned runs and walking three batters in his six-inning start. 

For Yankton, Josh Sheldon finished 2 of 3 at the plate. Matthew Sheldon took the loss after scattering seven hits, allowing five earned runs, three walks and striking out three batters in his six-inning start. 


Yankton Post 12 1, Sioux Falls Post 15 0

YANKTON — Yankton Post 12’s Drew Ryken threw a three-hit shutout against Sioux Falls Post 15 on Wednesday. 

Ryken struck out eight batters and issued three walks on 97 pitches. Rugby Ryken went 2 of 3, while Lucas Kampshoff and Matthew Sheldon each had hits. Sheldon drove in the lone run. 

For Post 15, Noah Willis took the loss after allowing one run on three hits, issued one walk, struck out four batters and allowed one earned run in his six-inning start. 


West Central 9, Flandreau Post 70 8

HARTFORD — West Central logged 14 hits as it held off Flandreau Post 70 in Wednesday Legion baseball action. 

Domo Chandeswang posted four hits, while Deuce Sherard, Will Nester, Connor Siemonsma and Derek Renken each had two hits. Owen Heath took the loss after five strikeouts, two runs (one earned), one walk and two hits in his three-inning start. 

For Flandreau, Kolby Peters posted three hits and drove in one run. Tash Lunday drove in three runs and Ethan Hoffman had two hits. Peters and Lunday both belted homers. Tristan Peters took the loss for Flandreau after allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out two batters and walking one in three relief innings.
