Wessington Springs Owls 10, Colome Chaos 6

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — A seven-run eighth inning powered Wessington Springs to a Pony Hills league victory over Colome Thursday.

Dalton Mogck drove in three runs on a triple, Terrek Butterfield added a double, two walks and an RBI, Mason Schelske drove in a run on a walk, Blake Larson tallied an RBi while Cade Mohling collected two hits in the win. Schelske earned the victory on the mound, allowing just two hits and a walk in three shutout innings, striking out three batters.

Colome’s Jay Skogerboe took the loss allowing seven runs on two hits and five walks in 0.2 innings of relief. Skogerboe drove in two runs on one hit and one walk at the plate, Joey Cole and Carter Dye each drove in a run on one hit, while Eli Vobr added two hits in the loss.


Tabor Bluebirds 7, Crofton Bluejays (Neb.) 5 

CROFTON — Tabor scored four runs late to stun Crofton during Thursday’s South Central league action.

Easton Mudder drove in two runs on two hits, Joey Slama tallied two hits and an RBI, while Riley Rothschadl totaled a solo home run and a walk in the win. Bryce Scieszinski allowed five runs on six hits and six walks in 5.1 innings for the Bluebirds, striking out three.

For Crofton, Wilson Munzke allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in 5.1 innings, striking out three batters. James Kaiser drove in a run on one hit and one walk, Andy Knapp tallied two RBIs on one hit while Austin Gobel tallied two walks and RBI in the loss.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 8, Menno MadFrogs 7

WYNOT — Colin Wieseler’s walk-off walk lifted Wynot past Menno during Thursday's South Central league action.

Wieseler totaled three walks in the win, Lee Heimes added two hits, a walk and an RBI, Jackson Sudbeck collected two hits, a double and a homer, and two RBIs, Landon Wiesler drove in a run on one hit, while Jude Krie added an RBI on a double and walk in the win. Krie did the majority of the work on the mound allowing seven runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings, striking out one.

For Menno, Doug Hall allowed seven runs on seven hits and six walks in eight innings, striking out five batters. Dylan Lehr collected three hits, a walk and an RBI, Brayden Sattler added two hits, a walk and an RBI, Treyton Sayler tallied one hit, one walk and one RBI, while Kyle Munkvold hit an RBI double in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 10, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 1

MADISON — Dell Rapids pounded out 11 hits as the Mudcats took down Madison in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

Josh Roeman drove in three runs on two doubles and a walk for the Mudcats, Ty Hoglund added two hits, one homer, and two RBIs, Jake Goble tallied one RBI on a solo homer and a walk, Seth Anderson added an RBI on one hit and one walk while Carter Gullickson tallied an RBI on three walks in the win. Goble earned the victory on the mound allowing one run on three hits and four walks in seven innings pitched, striking out nine batters.

For Madison, Riley Kearin took the loss allowing two runs on five hits and five walks in 3.2 innings, striking out two. Thomas Mechels drove in the only run of the game for the Broncos.


Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 10, Canova Gang 6

HUMBOLDT — Jonah Rechtenbaugh struck out 11 batters as the Gamecocks took down Canova during Thursday’s Cornbelt action.

Rechtenbaugh tossed five shutout innings allowing just three walks while striking out 11 in the win. Walker Hultgren added two hits, a walk and two RBIs, Cam Quigley collected three hits, Devon Garry added two RBIs on a double and one walk, Chad Morrison had two RBIs on one hit and one walk while Joe Hansich drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Canova, Kendall Gassman allowed one run on five hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, striking out six batters. Garret Gassman drove in three runs while Jared Miller added two hits and one RBI. Kendall Gassman and Jack Neises each tallied RBIs on one hit in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids PBR 5, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 4

DELL RAPIDS — Zach Puetz’s walk-off walk lifted Dell Rapids PBR to a Cornbelt league victory over the Wood Ducks Thursday.

Puetz drove in two runs on a double and a walk in the win, Drew Sweeter tallied two hits and an RBI while RIley Calhoon and Grant Sweeter each added hits in the win. Brett Mogen earned the victory on the mound in three shutout innings, striking out eight batters.

For HH, Derek Renken allowed three runs on three hits and three walks in five innings to take the loss. Brayden Odegaard tallied two hits and an RBI while Keaton Vessells, Rayce Whiting and Orlando Whiting each tallied an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 11, Lesterville Broncs 0

LESTERVILLE — Shugo Kondo drove in seven runs in the Lakers South Central league victory over Lesterville Thursday.

Kondo collected three hits and a walk, including two home runs to pile on seven RBIs for the Lakers, Lucas Kampshoff drove in a run on two hits, a double and two walks, Drew Ryken added one RBI on one double and one walk while Colin Zahrbock and Josh Sheldon combined for five hits in the win.  Ryken took the victory on the mound in seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out four.

For Lesterville, Dawson Bietz surrendered three runs on four hits and six walks in five innings, striking out five batters. Tyler Edler, Michael Drotzmann and Derek Quame each tallied hits in the loss for the Broncs.


Flandreau Cardinals 8, Salem Cubs 6

SALEM — Flandreau held off a late comeback to beat the Salem Cubs in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

JaColby Anderson tallied two hits, including a homer, a walk and two RBIs, Noel Burgos added an RBI on two hits, Tison Burgraff had one hit and one RBI while Jacob Patterson and Brian McGuire each tallied two hits in the win. Drew Weber allowed one run on two hits and two walks in four innings for the Cardinals, striking out three as well.

For Salem, Isaac Anderson allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings. Kyle Tuschen tallied two RBIs on one hit, Tyler Earls and Jon Forster each drove in a run on two hits, including three combined doubles, while Jacob Vonberge added an RBI on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Larchwood Diamonds (Iowa) 8, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 5

LENNOX — Larchwood pounded out 17 hits as the Diamonds took down Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing during Thursday’s State Line league action.

Micah Linn led the Diamonds with four hits and RBI, Mason Ver Meer added two hits and three RBis, Carter Ver Meer collected two hits, a walk and two RBIs, Korey McKenney had two hits and an RBi, while Spencer Ver Meer hit a solo home run in the win. McKenney earned the victory on the mound for the Diamonds allowing five runs on three hits and two walks in six innings pitched, striking out seven batters.

For LCW, Dylan Vosberg allowed six runs on 10 hits in three innings, fanning three batters. N Zabel tallied two hits, a walk and an RBI while Mikey Kocer, Camden Berndt and Wyatt Adam each tallied RBIs on a combined three walks in the loss.


Garretson Blue Jays 22, Parker Ringnecks 3 (5 innings)

GARRETSON —Garretson pounded out 15 hits as the Blue Jays defeated Parker in State Line league action Thursday.

Jayse Miller and Brady Bonte each had three hits and two RBIs while Dylan Kindt collected two hits, a triple and a walk, and two RBIs. Jesse Brockhouse and Nick Bonte each tallied RBIs on one hit and a combined three walks in the win as well. Brady DeBates took the win on the mound allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in five innings, striking out four batters.

For Parker, Brandon Bailiff allowed eight runs on six hits in two innings pitched. Bailiff and Jake Coleman each drove in a run on one hit in the loss as well.


Parkston Mudcats 7, Mitchell Aces 5

PARKSTON — A three-run sixth inning powered Parkston past Mitchell in Sunshine league action Thursday.

Braxton Wilhelm tallied two hits and an RBI in the win for the Mudcats, Luke Bormann collected two RBIs on one hit, Spencer Freudenthal had two hits, Jeff Harris added a double, walk, and an RBI, while Brayden Jervik tallied a solo homer in the win. Wilhelm earned the victory on the mound allowing five runs on four hits and seven walks in 7.2 innings, striking out nine batters.

For Mitchell, Lincoln Bates allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out 13 batters in the loss. Carter Miller and Jacob Kleinsasser each tallied RBIs on one hit while Peyton Mandel  drove in a run in the loss. 


Mount Vernon Mustangs 6, Alexandria Angels 3

ALEXANDRIA — Mount Vernon scored four runs in the ninth inning to stun Alexandria in Sunshine league action Thursday.

Bradley Dean powered the Mustangs offensively with three RBIs on two hits, including three-run homer in the ninth to take the lead, Chase Hetland added two hits and an RBI, Eric Giblin drove in a run on one hit while Daniel Laufman collected two hits in the win. Deric Denning earned the victory on the mound allowing three runs on five hits and 10 walks in a complete game, striking out four batters.

For Alexandria, Landon Ruesink took the loss in one inning of relief, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk. Ruesink drove in two runs on a double, Jerrod Zens added two hits and three walks while Peyton Smith collected two hits and two walks in the loss.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 15, Winner Demons 0 (7 innings)

WINNER — Ethan and Mitchell Price threw a combined no-hitter as the Nationals blanked Winner in Pony Hills action Thursday.

Ethan Price tossed the first five innings allowing just four walks while striking out 10 batters, while Mitchell closed the last two innings striking out four. Offensively, Caden Lenz drove in three runs on two hits and a walk, Caleb Crist added two hits, a walk, and two RBIs, Wes Kroupa tallied one triple and three RBIs, Dylanger Pierson totaled three walks, one hit and an RBI, Jesse Kroupa added two RBIs on one hit, while Trent Wookey tallied two hits, two walks and an RBI. Dylan Konechne drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the win as well.

For Winner, Ethan Bartel took the loss, surrendering eight runs on eight hits and eight walks in six innings, striking out five batters.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 18, Corsica Horned Frogs 4

CORSICA — Chandler Bakley drove in five runs as the Pheasants defeated Corsica during Thursday’s Sunshine league action.

Bakley batted 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and five RBIs, Austin Calhoon collected three RBIs on two hits, including a homer and a walk, Reed Harter and Aiden Barfuss each added two RBIs on one hit and two walks, Derek Graesser tallied one RBI on two hits and a walk, while Isaiah Olson notched three hits, a walk, and an RBI. Calhoon took the win on the mound allowing four runs on five hits and five walks in six innings, striking out seven batters.

For Corsica, Teddy Slaba allowed five runs on five hits and five walks  in four innings to take the loss on the mound. Tyson Wentland drove in three runs on two homers, while Brendan Wental added two hits and two walks in the loss.


Four Corners 9, Burke Bombers 4

BURKE — Jack Van Camp struck out 14 batters as Four Corners took down Burke in Pony Hills league action Thursday.

Van Camp tossed five innings allowing just five walks and one unearned run, striking out 14 batters in the win. Andrew Coverdale, Sam Hand, Garrett Stout and Van Camp each tallied two hits and an RBI, including two doubles by Van Camp. Cole Hand also drove in three runs in the win.

For Burke, JJ Farner allowed six runs on four hits and three walks in five innings pitched, striking out seven batters. Blake Boes tallied two hits, including a solo home run, Aaron Sundquist had a double, a walk and two RBis while Dan Jons and Terrell Bauld each tallied hits in the loss.


Parkston Devil Rays 11, Dimock/Emery Raptors 0 (8 innings)

EMERY — Jake Helleloid struck out 14 batters as Parkston defeated Dimock/Emery during Thursday’s Sunshine league action.

Helleloid allowed just two hits and four walks in seven shutout innings, striking out 14 batters to earn the victory on the mound. Dylan Soulek drove in four runs on a grand slam and two walks, James Deckert recorded three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Carter Sommer collected three hits, a double, and a walk, Tanner Dyk collected two hits, while Nolan Dvorak drove in a run on one hit.

For DE, Jason Schmidt took the loss allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks in six innings pitched, striking out eight batters. Schmidt tallied two hits, including a double, at the place while Drew Kitchens recorded a hit in the loss as well.


Chamberlain Mallards 15, Plankinton Bankers 0 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Dakota Munger’s complete game on the mound lifted Chamberlain to a Pony Hills league victory over Plankinton Thursday.

Munger allowed just one hit and two walks in five innings for the Mallards, striking out seven batters. Munger also led the offense with three hits, a walk and a home run, driving in four runs. Mike Schwartz added two hits, a double, walk, and two RBIs, Ryan Covelans had two hits, a homer, double, and three RBIs while Sandler Wiekamp collected one hit, one walk and one RBI in the win.

For Plankinton, Devin Mehlhaff took the loss allowing five runs on five hits and two walks in 2.1 innings, striking out four. Marcus Hill recorded the lone hit for the Bankers as well.
