Tri-Valley 6, Dakota Valley 5

ABERDEEN — Tri-Valley rallied from a 5-3 deficit against Dakota Valley with three runs in the seventh inning, and advanced to the Class A state championship. 

TV’s Izzy Davey drove in three runs on two hits and smacked a home run. Kadence Davey, Emry Jones and Emery Pearson each had two hits. Jones struck out seven batters, allowed nine hits, one earned run and walked four batters. 

For Dakota Valley, Mia Ribe, Brennan Trotter and Annie Bourne had two hits apiece. Bourne drove in a run. Bourne struck out five batters, allowed 12 hits, six earned runs and walked one batter. 

Tri-Valley will play West Central in the state championship at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Dakota Valley will play Dell Rapids at 2 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game. 


West Central 6, Dell Rapids 4

ABERDEEN — West Central outlasted Dell Rapids for a spot in the Class A state championship game. 

West Central’s Elisabeth Miller struck out 11 batters, and added an RBI on two hits at the plate. Ayla Kramer drove in three runs on two hits. Kadence Lupkes and Maddy Kunzweiler each had hits. 

For Dell Rapids, Kayleigh Gillette had two hits and Katie Kvigne scored in two runs. Kvigne struck out seven batters, allowed two hits, two earned runs and one walk in four innings. 


Vermillion 10, Sioux Valley 0

ABERDEEN — Mya Halverson struck out 11 batters as Vermillion blanked Sioux Valley in Class A consolation semifinal action on Friday.

Halverson allowed three hits, one walk and zero runs. She added two hits and an RBI at the plate. Madigan Wallin, Maliyah Johnson and Madeleine Eisenbeisz had two hits apiece. 

For Sioux Valley, McKinley Schwab, Savana Guthmiller and Ella Jacobsen each had hits. Abby Axtell allowed four hits, two earned runs, zero walks and struck out zero batters in two innings.  

Vermillion plays Madison at 12 p.m. Saturday in the consolation championship. Sioux Valley plays Elk Point-Jefferson at 10 a.m. Saturday in the seventh-place game. 


Madison 7, Elk Point-Jefferson 1 

ABERDEEN — Madison recorded 11 hits en route to a Class A softball win on Friday. 

Madison’s Mara Klingbile, Ella Malone, Cambree Hunsley and Paislee Cooney had two hits apiece. Malone smacked a home run. Kelcie Dudley struck out six batters, allowed three hits, one earned run and walked one batter. 

Madison plays Vermillion at 12 p.m. Saturday in the consolation championship. 

For EPJ, Laney Trometer, Regan Rasmussen and Natalie Hailey each had hits. Rasmussen struck out three batters, allowed nine hits, two earned runs and allowed zero walks in 4.2 innings. 

EPJ plays Sioux Valley at 10 a.m. Saturday in the seventh-place game.
