Deuel 2, Alcester-Hudson 1

ABERDEEN — Deuel outlasted Alcester-Hudson in a Class B semifinal action on Friday.

The Cardinals scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning, propelling them to the state championship Saturday vs. Gayville-Volin. 

Eden Schiernbeck and Aubrey Lanners finished with two hits apiece. Rylynn Streich drove in a run. Katrina Hagberg struck out 13 batters, allowed seven hits, one earned run and issued zero walks in the win. 

For Alcester-Hudson, Delta Pies, Paxtyn Moller and Laney Decker had two hits apiece. Pies drove in the team’s lone run. Emma Moller struck out seven batters, allowed six hits, one earned run and zero walks in six innings. 


Castlewood 12, Bon Homme 2

ABERDEEN — Castlewood clubbed 19 hits en route to a Class B consolation semifinal win over Bon Homme on Friday.

Kayla Goens finished with four hits for the Warriors, who scored at least one run in five innings and plated six in the seventh frame. Goens drove in three runs, as did Cyndi Kudrna on three hits. Natalie Akin and Bridgette Horn had three hits apiece. Claire Horn and Cassidy Kirwan recorded two hits apiece. Claire Horn struck out eight batters, allowed nine hits, two earned runs and walked five batters.

For Bon Homme, Taryn Crites and Taycee Ranek tallied three hits apiece. Ranek and Neveah Myers each drove in runs. Kenadee Kozak allowed 19 hits, 11 earned runs, five walks and struck out four batters. 


Florence-Henry 6, Avon 1

ABERDEEN — The Florence/Henry Falcons defeated the Avon Lady Pirates 6-1 Friday to advance to the Class B fifth-place game on Saturday.

Despite being out-hit 10-7 by Avon, Florence/Henry’s bats were timely. Led by Kaylee Vavruska, who was 2-for-3 at the plate, while teammate Andie Rislov was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.

The Falcons’ Elizabeth Reiter pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on 10 hits while striking out seven.

Florence/Henry will play Castlewood at noon in the consolation championship on Saturday. Avon will meet Bon Homme in the seventh-place game at 10 a.m. Saturday.
