Alexandria 6, Menno 3

MENNO — Alexandria scored three runs in the final two innings to defeat Menno in Legion baseball Friday evening.

Jackson Jarding earned the victory on the mound for Alexandria, throwing five innings, giving up seven hits, two walks, and three earned runs while striking out six.

At the plate Brayden Bahmuller batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jayce Slaba and AJ Wilber each drove in one run on one hit in the win.

Ben Wilber, Esten Schlimgen, and Carter Popp each tallied hits in the win.

For Menno, Bryce Sattler earned the loss in a six inning effort, allowing seven hits, one walk, and five runs given up.

Sattler and Kory Keppen each tallied two hits in the win, while Rocky Ammann and Jace Walloch each went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Evan Scharberg, Parker Hochstein, Erick Buechler, and Sawyer Wipf each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 8, Baltic/Colton 0

BALTIC — Lincoln Fersdahl’s complete game shutout helped Dell Rapids defeat Baltic-Colton Thursday night in Legion baseball action. 

Fersdahl gave up just two hits and three walks in his 93 pitch outing to go along with eight strikeouts.

At the plate the top part of the order did the most damage for Dell Rapids, Cole Ruesink batted 2-for-3 with an RBI, CJ Smith batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Treyse Eastman added one hit and two walks in the victory.

Cooper Frost also added two hits in win for Dell Rapids.

For BC, Braxton Allen took the loss on the mound, surrendering six hits, three walks, and six runs while striking out six.


Lake Norden 16, Redfield 2

LAKE NORDEN — Ryker Warrington struck out 18 batters as Lake Norden defeated Redfield in Legion baseball action Thursday night.

Warrington threw all seven innings for Lake Norden, giving up one hit and two walks along with two runs. Warrington also drove in three runs on one hit in the win.

Kadon Kezzler led the offense with three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs, while Cristian Rodriguez batted 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs.

Turner Stevenson collected two hits and three RBIs in the win as well.

For Redfield, Noah Johnson took the loss on the mound, giving up eight hits, one walk, and 15 runs in three innings pitched.

Ethan Falk recorded the only hit and RBI for Redfield in the loss.


Post 22 Hardhats 20, Brookings 8 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — Harrison Good and Alex Dietrich racked up four RBIs apiece as the Hardhats took down Brookings in Legion baseball action Thursday night.

Good batted 3-for-4 with a double and a home run to go along with four RBIs, while Dietrich batted 3-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch and a home run, tallying four runs driven in.

Jace Morgan, Aiden Roberts, and Wilson Kieffer each racked up two hits, combining for six RBIs, while Tate Crosswait drove in three runs on an RBI double.

The winning pitcher was Eli Kelley, allowing four hits, one walk, and three runs in four innings pitched.

For Brookings, David Brink earned the loss on the mound, giving up 10 hits, three walks, and 16 runs in 2.1 innings. Austin Clark and Owen Schneider each tallied two hits and two RBIs in the loss.


Post 22 Hardhats 10, Brookings 0 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — Hayden Leighty’s no-hitter helped the Hardhats sweep Brookings in a Legion doubleheader Thursday night.

Leighty threw five innings giving up just one walk and a hit-by-pitch while striking out three batters.

Offensively, Aiden Roberts, Wilson Kieffer, and Alex Dietrich each drove in two runs on one hit, including a double by Dietrich.

Harrison Good and Carter Johnson each added one hit, one walk, and one RBI in the victory as well.

For Brookings, the losing pitcher was Sam Johnson, giving up two hits, six walks, and seven runs in 3.2 innings pitched.


Aberdeen Smittys 23, Post 320 Stars 3 (5 innings)

ABERDEEN — The Smittys racked up 20 hits en route to mercy rule victory over Post 320 Thursday night in Legion baseball action. 

Cooper Eisenbeisz and Drew Salfrank paced the Aberdeen offense with four hits apiece, with Eisenbeisz adding two doubles, a walk, and six RBIs, while Salfrank added a triple and three RBIs.

Casey Vining made his presence felt, batting 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, and a home run. Jackson Welke went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Zane Backous, Brendan Livermont, and Grant Beyer each tallied two hits, driving in three runs combined.

Phillip Zens earned the victory on the mound, throwing five innings, the pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs to go along with seven strikeouts.

For Post 320, seven batters recorded hits in the loss, with Jhett Peterson and Ian Feeger driving in two runs.

Anderson Lockhart took the loss on the mound, giving up four hits, two walks, and seven runs.


Aberdeen Smittys 16, Post 320 Stars 6 (5 innings)

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen collected yet another 15 hits in game two to sweep the Thursday doubleheader over Post 320.

Casey Vining batted 2-for-2 with two walks and a home run, driving in two runs, Grant Beyer collected three hits including a triple and an RBI, John Foss drove in three runs on three hits, and Lance Siftkin went 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs.

Brendan Livermont and Jackson Ladner each drove in one run on one hit, while Charlie Phillips, Jackson Wilke, and Zane Backous each tallied hits in the win.

Donnie Soderlund was the winning pitcher for Aberdeen, allowing five hits, three walks, and six unearned runs in five innings, while striking out two.

For Post 320, Laadon Faatz took the loss on the mound, giving up 15 hits, three walks, and 15 runs in three innings, striking out five.

Tegan Sayles went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Ian Feeger, Tegan Sayles, Tysen Heintzman, and Ben Dressler each drove in runs in the loss.


Spearfish 9, Clark-Willow Lake 1 (5 innings)

SPEARFISH — Tucker Olson threw just 59 pitches in five innings as Spearfish defeated Clark-Willow Lake Thursday night.

Olson allowed just four hits and one run in his complete game outing, striking out three batters.

Travis Deuel led the offense batting a perfect 1-for-1 on the night, with two walks, and two RBIs, while Aiden Meverden collected two hits and one RBI.

Sean Sewell batted two-for-two, while Riley Pollreisz, Cody Chapman, and Owen Bruner each tallied hits in the win.

For CWL, Conner Mudgett was the losing pitcher, allowing four hits, three walks, and eight runs in 2.2 innings, striking out four.

Jack Helkenn led the offense with two hits and an RBI, while Cooper Pommer, Michael Severson, and Waylan Olson each tallied hits.


Brandon Valley 17, Vermillion 1 (4 innings)

VERMILLION — Aiden Zerr and Ryland Carroll combined to nearly shutout Vermillion as Brandon Valley earned a legion victory Friday afternoon.

Zerr threw two innings, giving just one walk while striking out four batters, while Carroll gave up one hit and three walks, allowing the only Vermillion run and hit of the game.

At the plate the bats were active for Brandon Valley, but Drake Jellema led the offense with three hits, a double, and five RBIs.

Zerr also added three hits in the win, while Bryton Stroh, Jackson Adams, and Carroll each tallied two hits, combining for five RBIs.

Brayden Knutson, Luke Smart, and Mason Veld each tallied one hit and one RBI in the win as well.

For Vermillion, Hayden Christopherson took the loss on the mound, giving up 11 hits, four walks, and 12 runs in three innings pitched.

Mikey Roob tallied the only hit in the loss for Vermillion


Yankton 10, Salem/Montrose/Canova 3 (6 innings)

YANKTON — Matthew Sheldon’s four-RBI day propelled Yankton to a legion baseball victory over SMC Friday afternoon.

Sheldon batted 3-for-4 with two doubles to go along with four RBIs.

Lucas Kampshoff and Owen Wishon collected a combined five hits, while Samuel Gokie, Frankie Inveld, and Easton Nelson each tallied hits and a collective 4 RBIs.

Sean Turner was the winning pitcher for Yankton, throwing four innings, giving up six hits, five walks, and three runs while striking out two.

For SMC, Owen Alley took the loss on the mound, giving up eight hits, five walks, and five runs in four innings pitched.

Jackson Remmers highlighted the offense with two hits, two walks, and one home run, while Carter Randall added two hits, a walk, and an RBI.

Weston Remmers and Korbin Shumaker each tallied hits in the loss.


Belle Fourche 9, Clark-Willow Lake 8

BELLE FOURCHE — The Broncs score one run in the bottom of the sixth to defeat CWL in legion baseball action Friday afternoon.

Caeyn Howard led the Belle Fourche offense with two hits, a walk, and four RBIs, while Graham VanderBoom collected three hits and two RBIs.

Aiden Voyles, Trig Thomsen, and Urijah Hamilton each collected two hits in the win as well.

Carsyn Hahne was the winning pitcher for Belle Fourche, throwing one inning, Hahne gave up just one hit and one walk to close out the victory.

For CWL, Cooper Pommer drove in five runs on two hits, while Conner Mudgett and Will Hovde added two hits in the loss as well.

The losing pitcher was Hovde, giving up eight hits, two walks, and four runs in four innings pitched.


Aberdeen Smittys 10, Post 320 Stars 6

ABERDEEN — The Smittys scored four runs in the top of the fourth to defeat Post 320 Friday afternoon.

It was a team effort by the Smittys offensively, as six different batters drove in runs in the win.

Jackson Welke led the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Phillip Zens, Casey Vining, Brendan Livermont, Joran Foss, and Grant Beyer all added one hit and one RBI in the victory.

The winning pitcher was Jaxon Ladner, who threw three shutout innings allowing just one hit.

For Post 320, Nolan Williamson took the loss on the mound, giving up one walk while striking out three batters in 2.1 innings of relief.

Ian Feeger led the Post 320 offense with three hits, while Maxon Speed batted 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs.


Aberdeen Smittys 12, Post 320 Stars 3

ABERDEEN — Casey Vining threw a complete game as Aberdeen swept a four-game series against Post 320 Friday afternoon.

Vining allowed seven hits, two walks, and three runs in his seven inning outing, while batting 3-for-5 with an RBI at the plate.

Drew Salfrank also collected three hits, while Zane Backous and Jaxon Ladner added two hits and two RBIs in the win as well.

Phillip Zens, Talan Dutenhoeffer, and Jackson Welke combined for three hits, five walks, and four RBIs.

For Post 320, Porter Muck took the loss on the mound, giving up three hits, three walks, and five runs in one inning pitched.

Colton Mehlhaff and Jonah Blake each tallied two hits in the loss, while Mehlhaff drove in one run.


Brandon Valley 14, Post 15 Black 0 (4 innings)

VERMILLION — Bryton Stroh struck out nine batters as Brandon Valley picked up a Legion baseball win Friday afternoon.

Stroh threw all four innings, giving up one hit and two walks to go along with nine strikeouts.

Offensively, Stroh added two hits and a walk as well, while Jackson Adams and Ryland Carroll collected two hits apiece, with Adams driving in one run and Carroll driving in three.

Brayden Knutson batted 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Aiden Zerr, Luke Smart, and Nolan Pudwill each tallied hits in the win.

For Post 15, Tommy Boyum took the loss on the mound, giving up seven hits, three walks, and 11 runs in one inning pitched.

Hunter Sieler recorded the only hit for Post 15 in the loss.


Douglas (Wyo.) 12, Clark-Willow Lake 5 (5 innings)

SPEARFISH — Douglas scored nine runs in the first inning to dominate in a Legion baseball win over CWL Friday afternoon.

For CWL, Josh Kannegieter took the loss on the mound, giving up five hits, two walks, and nine runs.

Tyson Huber led the offense with two hits, while Michael Severson and Kannegieter each tallied hits for CWL in the loss.


Post 15 West 6, Tabor 2 (6 innings)

HARTINGTON — Post 15’s five run fifth inning helped defeat Tabor 6-2 in Legion baseball action Friday afternoon.

Kaden Kirchner and Tucker DeHaan led the offense with two hits apiece, with DeHaan tallying an RBI.

Adler Jensen drove in two runs in the win as well.

Ben Little earned the victory on the mound in three shutout innings pitched, giving up three hits and three walks while striking out two.

For Tabor, Landon Bares paced the Tabor offense with three hits, including two doubles and an RBI, while Easton Mudder, Landon Schmidt, Jackson Caba, and Isaiah Crownover each tallied hits in the loss.

The losing pitcher was Bares, allowing six hits, one walk, and five runs in five innings, while striking out four.


Post 33 7, Tabor 6 (9 innings)

HARTINGTON — Post 33 held off a comeback to defeat Tabor in extra innings Friday evening.

Xander Heller led the Post 33 offense batting 1-for-5 with a two-RBI double, while four other batters tallied hits in the win.

Kjell Sundstrom earned the win on the mound for Post 33, giving up one hit, five walks, and four runs in four innings pitched.

For Tabor, Jace Toupal earned the loss, giving up one hit, four walks, and three runs in two innings pitched.

Landon Schmidt, Easton Mudder, Landon Bares, Jackson Caba, and Wes Kaul each tallied hits for Tabor in the loss.


Dell Rapids 11, Renner 3 (6 innings)

CROFTON — Talan Millage limited Renner to one run in 5.1 innings as Dell Rapids earned a Legion baseball victory Friday.

Millage gave up seven hits, four walks, and threw eight strikeouts to go with his one earned run allowed.

Dell Rapids only had five hits in the win but took advantage of nine Renner walks in the victory.

Cole Ruesink batted 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, Suttin Williams went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, and Treyse Eastman and Brandon Schmidt each tallied hits in the win for Dell Rapids.

For Renner, three different pitchers saw time on the mound, but Joe Neufeld saw the most time pitching 4.1 innings, allowing one hit, five walks, and four runs.

Talon Black and Jack Sebert each had multi-hit games, with both tallying one double in the loss.

Black and Zach Barr each drove in one run in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids 7, Crofton (Neb.) 2

CROFTON — Three Dell Rapids pitchers gave up one total hit as Dell Rapids defeated Crofton in Legion baseball Friday night.

Konrad Richeael earned the victory on the mound for Dell Rapids, not allowing a baserunner in 2.1 innings while striking out one.

Treyse and Drake Eastman gave up a combined one hit, three walks, and two runs in the final 4.2 innings, combining four seven strikeouts.

Tad Tjaden and Cole Ruesink were efficient at the plate, Tjaden batted 2-for-5 with a double, while Ruesink went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, and one RBI.

 

Elk Point-Jefferson 7, Tea TinCaps 2

ELK POINT — Brody Van Roekel limited Tea to just three hits as EPJ earned a Legion baseball win Friday evening.

Van Roekel threw six innings, giving up three hits, four walks, and two runs while striking out eight batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Keaton Gale led the EPJ offense with two hits and one RBI, while Van Roekel, Ty Trometer, and Jace Shatswell each tallied hits in the win.

For Tea, Clayton Schwebach earned the loss on the mound, giving up four hits, four walks, and five runs in five innings pitched, striking out four.

Mason Schramm drove in two runs on two hits, while Nathan Christensen and Tim Halbur each tallied hits in the loss.


JC Brager (Neb.) 12, Vermillion 9

VERMILLION — JC Brager scored six runs over the final two frames to stun Vermillion in Legion baseball action Friday night.

For Vermillion, Tate Hage took the loss on the mound, giving up 15 hits, one walk, and 11 runs in six innings, striking out two.

Connor Peterson and Nolan Nygren had the best bats for Vermillion, combining for five hits and one RBI, including two doubles by Peterson.

Jack Moskowitz drove in three runs on one hit in the loss as well.


Winner/Colome 5, Chamberlain 2

WINNER — Landon Calhoon went the distance on the mound as W/C earned a Legion baseball victory over Chamberlain Friday night. 

In Calhoon’s seven inning outing, he gave up six hits and two runs while striking out eight to earn the victory on the mound.

At the plate Aiden Barfuss batted 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Zac Olson and Karson Kaiser each tallied one hit and one RBI in the win.

For Chamberlain, Cooper Lieferman took the loss in six innings pitched, giving up six hits, two walks, and five runs, while striking out 12.

Sawyer Donovan batted 2-for-3 with a double, Rayden Haak added an RBI double, and Conway Collins drove in one run on one hit in the loss as well.


Spearfish 5, Buffalo (Wyo.) 4

SPEARFISH — Haylon Heiting’s walk-off single earned Spearfish a Legion baseball victory Friday night.

Offensively for Spearfish, Travis Deuel led with three hits including two doubles, while Aiden Meverden batted 2-for-3 at the plate.

Cody Chapman drove in three runs on one hit, while Jack Branum batted 1-for-2 with a walk, double, and an RBI.
