LENNOX — Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans and Dakota Valley’s Joe Cross won the girls and boys cross-country races at Thursday’s Lennox Invitational contested on the Lennox Golf course. 

Evans ran a terrific race on the 5,000-meter course posting a time of 18 minutes and 35.56 seconds, ahead of Sioux Falls Christian athletes Ellie Maddox (18:48) and Sadie Pettengill (18:52). Milbank’s Ashlynn Batchelor (19:02) and Sioux Falls Christian’s Jerica Glasser (19:23) were the top-five finishers. 

Dakota Valley’s Joe Cross covered the 5,000-meter course in Lennox in 15:41, ahead of Sioux Falls Christian’s Levi Vander Leest (16:06) and Dakota Valley’s Jack Brown (16:19). West Central’s Benjamin Strunk (16:26) and Sioux Falls Christian’s Josh Fletcher (16:42) were Thursday’s top finishers for the boys race. 

The Sioux Falls Christian girls easily won the girls team title with 25 points, ahead of Vermillion (72) and Chamberlain (73). West Central (90) and Tea Area (95) rounded out the top-five girls teams. 

Sioux Falls Christian scored 33 points to win the boys team title ahead of Dakota Valley (44) and Vermillion (54). Milbank (59) and West Central (70) were the top-five boys teams at a very competitive meet.
