Mitchell 60, Yankton 46

MITCHELL — Mitchell clinched its fourth consecutive Class AA state tournament berth on Saturday, knocking off Yankton in SoDak 16 action at the Corn Palace. 

Mitchell’s Markus Talley logged 25 points, four rebounds and four assists. Gavin Soukup and Gavin Hinker scored eight points apiece. Colton Smith added six points, six rebounds and four assists. Parker Mandel scored seven points, while Landen Soulek added six points. 


Huron 62, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 51

HURON — Three players scored in double figures as Huron picked up a Class AA SoDak 16 boys basketball win on Saturday.

Blake Ellwein finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds. C.J. Gainey added 16 points, four 3-pointers and three rebounds. Anderson Porisch logged 14 points and three rebounds. 

O’Gorman’s Austin Terveen scored 20 points and collected five rebounds Caleb Terveen and Nyun Dut scored 10 points apiece. 


Sioux Falls Washington 52, Pierre 47

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Washington outlasted Pierre for a Class AA SoDak 16 boys basketball win on Saturday.

Sioux Falls Washington’s Jhace Woods added 23 points and eight boards, while Thomas Hoffman tossed in 21 points.

Pierre’s Jett Zabel logged 17 points and 12 rebounds. Luke Olson added 15 points and Cade Kaiser scored 13 points.
