March 3 Boys Basketball Roundup - Tiospaye Topa pulls away from Sunshine Bible Academy for Region 6B victory

Tiospaye Topa 63, Sunshine Bible Academy 52

MILLER — Three players scored in double figures to lift Tiospaye Topa to a Region 6B boys basketball win on Monday.

TT’s Jakolby Rousseau finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Laken Traversie added 16 points, four rebounds and four 3-pointers. Steven Garnette posted 11 points and three rebounds. Trevian Kills Crow had six points and four rebounds. Andrei Hojas added four points and five rebounds.

For SBA, Trey Thieman finished with 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and three 3-pointers. Jerome Big Eagle added 12 points and eight rebounds. Owan Watson finished with nine points, six rebounds and three assists. Isaac Hagen had seven points and four rebounds. Patrick Nelson recorded five points and three rebounds. Jensen Wipf had five boards. 


Sioux Falls Lutheran 50, Canistota 43

CANISTOTA — Rowen Becker and Sam Borg combined for 28 points as Sioux Falls Lutheran earned a Region 3B victory Monday.

Becker had 14 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists, Borg tallied 14 points and four rebounds, Owen Gilster tallied eight points and four rebounds while Brayden Wille and Kade Matthies each had five points in the win.

Canistota’s Jaden Kleinsasser recorded 17 points, nine rebounds and three steals, Brady Scott had 16 points and eight rebounds while Blaise Showers added six points and six blocks in the loss.


Iroquois/Lake Preston 63, Arlington 48

IROQUOIS — Ervin Carter and Lucas Peskey powered Iroquois/Lake Preston to a Region 2B boys basketball win on Monday.

Carter finished with 22 points, while Peskey added 13 points. Ben Curd had seven points, while Daunte Glanzer and Peyton Hope scored six points apiece.

For Arlington, Miles Antonen scored 12 points. Brecken Vossler and Jake Burns scored seven points apiece. Leilan Farstad scored six points. 


Irene-Wakonda 68, Freeman Academy-Marion 47

IRENE — A balanced scoring attack powered Irene-Wakonda to a Region 4B victory Monday.

Hayden Hansen led with 23 points, Jens Hansen tallied 14 points, Christian Putman had 11 points while Brody Johnke netted 10 points in the win.

FAM’s Karter Weber had 13 points while Elshadi Mesfin tallied 12 points in the loss.


Chester 81, Flandreau Indian 39

CHESTER — Chester jumped out to a 30-8 first-quarter lead and cruised to a Region 3B boys basketball win on Monday.

Chester’s Jaxton Opdahl recorded 24 points. Will Seeley had 14 points and Layke Wold scored 11 points.

For Flandreau Indian, Cael Youngbear finished with 13 points and Genio White Hawk had 12 points.  


Marty 73, Mitchell Christian 58

MARTY — Three players scored in double figures to lift Marty to a Region 5B boys basketball win on Monday.

Marty’s Jordan Zephier tossed in 30 points and Isaiah Heart added 11 points. Tyson Cournoyer finished with 10 points. Leon Heart and Tatetawa Bair scored nine points apiece.

For Mitchell Christian, Brady Asbenson netted 19 points and Syver Enga had 17 points. Luke Mentele finished with 13 points and Micah Manning scored five points.
