March 6 Class B Girls Basketball Roundup - Deubrook Area clips Kadoka Area, advances to Class B state tourney

Deubrook Area 53, Kadoka Area 50

CHAMBERLAIN — Kylee Johnson’s 20-point burst helped Deubrook Area secure a spot in the State B girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Johnson finished with 20 points, Matte Bauman added nine points while Mataya Gouws and Peyton Trooien each had seven points in the win.

KA’s Bella Williams had a game-high 26 points in the loss while Breezy Amiotte tallied 15 points as well.


Lyman 56, Lemmon 44

PHILIP — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 2 Lyman punched its ticket to the State B girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Mak Scott led the Raiders with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals, Bree Smart collected 16 points and five rebounds while Brooke Palmer had 15 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in the win.

Lemmon’s Jordyn Kohn had 14 points, Madison Dauwen tallied 11 points, Brynn Odenbach had seven points while Izzie O’Donnell tallied six points in the loss.


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 45, Corsica-Stickney 43

MITCHELL — Alexa Goertz’s 17 points helped Class B No. 5 Sanborn Central-Woonsocket punch its ticket to the State B girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Goertz finished with 17 points, Addison Bartholow had 12 points while Liz Boschee tallied eight points in the win.

CS’s Braylee Bordewyk totaled 18 points, Sophie DeLange added 12 points while Syndey Spaans had eight points in the loss.

 

Harding County 65, De Smet 32

TIMBER LAKE — Bailey Verhulst and Brayden Padden powered Harding County to a SoDak 16 girls basketball win on Thursday.

Verhulst finished with 22 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Padden added 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kaylen Padden recorded seven points and four rebounds. Macey Wendt had six points and six rebounds. 

De Smet stats were not reported.


Parkston 52, Highmore-Harrold 31

MITCHELL — Parkston punched its ticket to the Class B state girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Parkston’s Berkley Ziebart finished with 19 points and hit three 3-pointers. Keeara Oakley added 16 points, while Morgan Maxwell scored eight points. 

For Highmore-Harrold, Autumn Fallis finished with nine points and Tenley McDonnell had six points. Elle Stagg scored five points.


Centerville 63, Faulkton Area 38

MADISON — Althea Gust and Emma Marshall combined for 44 points as Class B No. 1 Centerville punched its ticket to the State B girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Gust netted 23 points in the win, Marshall had 21 points and four steals, Izzie Eide tallied 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals while Keira Austin had eight points in the win.

FA’s Anika Mueller had a team-high 16 points and five rebounds, Carley Cotton added seven points and four rebounds while Jami Senn and Presleigh Martinmaas each had six points in the loss.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 34, Northwestern 29

WATERTOWN — Dell Rapids St. Mary survived a late comeback to advance to the State B girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Madala Hanson led the Cardinals with 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Addison Libis had nine points, Maddyn Lebrun netted five points and 10 rebounds while Jenna Miller had four points, three rebounds and two steals in the win.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven collected 17 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks while Adriana Ratigan tallied 12 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in the loss.
