Redfield Area 5, Warner/Ipswich/Northwestern 4

REDFIELD — Grady Hulscher’s walk-off single lifted Redfield Area over Warner/Ipswich/Northwestern in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Hulscher drove in one run on one hit and one walk while Jackson Rude added three RBIs on a double and a walk in the win.

Chace Odland tossed 6.2 innings for the Muskrats, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks, striking out eight.

For WIN, Quinn Huetl allowed one run on two hits and one walk in 2.2 innings, striking out two.

Lincoln Kroll had three hits, Braydon Kroll added two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Beckett Halvorson recorded an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.


Dell Rapids 9, Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 2

ALEXANDRIA — Joe Trumbauer tossed five strong innings as Dell Rapids ran away from Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Trumbauer tossed five innings in the win, allowing one unearned run on one hit and two walks, striking out four.

Drake Eastman had two hits, a triple, two walks, and an RBI, Gauge Bunkers, Kenny Swanson and Thomas LaVoy each drove in a run on one hit, Jake Heinitz added two hits while AJ Brandenburg and Jackson Peppel each had an RBI in the win.

For HBE, Connor Endorf allowed six runs on four hits and three walks in 3.1 innings, striking out two.

Jackson Weber drove in a run on a walk in the loss.


Clark Area 11, Deuel 1 (5 innings)

CLARK — Teague Stevenson tossed 10 strikeouts as Clark Area ran past Deuel in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Stevenson allowed one run on five hits and one walk in five innings of work, striking out 10 in the win.

Watson Grantham had two RBIs on two hits, Cooper Pommer added three hits, including a triple and a solo homer, Ky Vandersnick added two RBIs on a double while Charlie Luvaas recorded an RBI-double in the win.

For Deuel, Gabe Van Dyke allowed nine runs on seven hits and four walks in four innings, striking out two.

Ryker Gauger had two hits, a double, and an RBI while Van Dyke added two hits in the loss.


West Central 11, Freeman/Canistota/Marion 1 (5 innings)

HUMBOLDT — Beckett Everson drove in four runs as West Central ran past Freeman/Canistota/Marion in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Everson batted 3-for-4 with four RBIs for the Trojans, Nick Lorang had two hits, Cooper Ball added two RBIs on a single while Eli Koehn and Zach Lorang each had an RBI in the win.

Ashton Gebhard took the win on the mound in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk, striking out one.

For FMC, Tayden Kerrigan allowed eight runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out six in 3.1 innings in the loss.

Kerrigan drove in the lone run in the loss for FMC.


Baltic 11, Howard 4

BALTIC — Laken Kortemeyer tossed a complete game on the mound as Baltic defeated Howard in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Kortemeyer allowed four unearned runs on three hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out six in the win.

Elias Oakley had three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Mikey Grunewaldt drove in two RBIs on a hit and three walks, Jackson Goehring added two hits while Kortemeyer, Alex Hockenberry and Zach Helgeson each had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For Howard, Nolan Mentele allowed six runs on five hits and five walks in four innings, striking out six in the loss.

Gabriel Martian tallied two hits and an RBI while Garrett Feldhaus added an RBI in the loss.

 

Tri-Valley 8, Garretson 4

COLTON — A seven-run sixth-inning powered Tri-Valley over Garretson in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Jackson Williams had two RBIs on two hits and two walks for the Mustangs, Parker Atwood and Cooper Durick each had an RBI on one hit while Lawson Schneiderman tallied two hits and an RBI in the win.

Schneiderman took the win on the mound in seven complete innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out nine.

For Garretson, Colton Buchholz allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in five innings, striking out three.

Chase Costello drove in two runs on one hit in the loss.


Vermillion 12, Tri-County 1 (5 innings)

VERMILLION — Vermillion exploded for nine hits and eight walks as the Tanagers rolled past Tri-County in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Nolan Nygren had three hits, a walk, and an RBI, Cale Cleveland recorded two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Ryan Vitt totaled three RBIs and a walk, Emerson Jarchow had two RBIs on one hit while Cooper Reiser, Grant Roerig and Trey Hansen each drove in a run in the win.

Jackson Beacom took the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing one run on four hits and one walk, striking out five.

For TC, Jeremiah Gustad allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks in one inning of work.

Caiden Wherry had two hits while Noah Hansen drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Milbank 7, Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster Area 1

MILBANK — Milbank’s Aiden Kelly tossed 6.2 strong innings to hand Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster Area its first loss of the season in high school baseball action Wednesday.

Kelly allowed one run on seven hits and three walks in 6.2 innings, striking out eight in the win.

Kelly batted 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Bulldogs, Mack Koplin added three RBIs on a triple and a walk, Bennett Hunt added two RBIs on a hit while Zack Karges recorded an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For SBHW, Mitchell Burger allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out three in the loss.

Colton Chapin and Burger each had two hits in the loss for the Mallards.


Douglas 21, Custer 3 (3 innings)

HOT SPRINGS — Douglas exploded for 14 hits as the Patriots ran away from Custer in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

David Mraz, Riggin Kasuske and Stephen Reilly each drove in three runs on two hits, Jaxon Montalvo and Carson Hicks each had two hits and an RBI, Bobby Steffy and Aiden Kennedy both drove in two runs on one hit while Ledger Killmeyer had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Hicks took the win on the mound in three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks, striking out seven.

For Custer, Adam Adler allowed 20 runs on 12 hits and three walks in two innings of work, striking out one.

Jayse Noem drove in two runs on two hits while Jaden Chee added an RBI in the loss.

 

Douglas 16, Custer 1 (3 innings)

HOT SPRINGS — Aiden Kennedy drove in five runs as Douglas defeated Custer in a high school baseball doubleheader on Wednesday.

Kennedy batted 3-for-3 with a double, homer and five RBIs, Carson Hicks added two hits and two RBIs, David Mraz had two hits and an RBI while Liam Kennedy recorded two RBIs on one hit in the win.

Ledger Killmeyer took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, striking out three.

For Custer, Jayse Noem surrendered seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 2.1 innings, striking out three.

Noem tallied an RBI-single in the loss as well.
