Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 11, Gregory County 3

GREGORY — ​Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake pounded out 20 hits en route to a high school baseball win on Wednesday.

Maddux VanZee finished 4-of-4 at the plate. Jye Bailey and Tanner Dyk finished with three hits apiece, while Dyk drove in four runs. Bailey drove in two runs. Joey Foxley, Parker Bailey, Ashton Krumvieda and Hayden Sprik had two hits apiece. Caden Oberbroekling and Kenyon Kuiper each had hits. Sprik earned the win after five strikeouts and allowed zero runs through three innings.

For Gregory County, Kade Braun and Landon Keiser each had two hits. Gannon Thomas had a hit. Thomas took the loss after allowing 15 hits, seven earned runs and striking out eight batters in six innings. 


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 21, Hamlin Area 0 (5 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — W.I.N’s Logan Fischbach drives in four runs on three hits as they knocked off Hamlin Area in Region 2B action Wednesday.

Alongside Fischbach, Alec Mikkelson added three hits and a walk, driving in one run, while Xavier Kadlec and Tristan Gosch drove in three runs apiece. 

Braydon Kroll earned the complete game shutout victory for WIN, tallying five strikeouts and two hits allowed in just 54 pitches.

For Hamlin Area, Jyler Tharaldsen took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs while walking five batters.

Tharaldsen and Jarin Eidson recorded the only two hits for Hamlin area in the loss.


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 3, Hamlin Area 0

CASTLEWOOD — WIN’s Levi Little pitched a complete game shutout to best Hamlin Area Wednesday night.

Little allowed just five hits while striking out eight batters in just 83 pitches, while collecting one hit, one walk, and an RBI at the plate.

Chays Mansfield tallied a hit, a walk, and drove in another run in the victory as well. Xavier Kadlec, Logan Fischbach, and Gavin Lane also tallied hits for WIN.

For Hamlin Area, Watson Grantham nearly went the distance on the mound, throwing 6.1 innings allowing five hits, four walks, and three runs.

Grantham and Jyler Tharaldsen each had two hits for Hamlin Area in the loss.


Parkston/Ethan/Tripp 3, Scotland/Menno 0

PARKSTON — Parkston’s Taite Klumb and Wyatt Anderson combine to shut out the Trappers Wednesday afternoon.

Klumb started on the mound for PET, allowing two hits and three walks in six innings of work while striking out eight before Anderson shut the door in the final frame, recording three outs on six pitches.

Klumb also helped at the plate, collecting two hits driving in one run. Luke Bormann, Carter Sommer, Brayden Jervik, Will Jodozi, and Maddux Brissette all tallied hits in the win.

For Scotland/Menno, Bryce Sattler tallied the loss, throwing all six innings, allowing seven hits, one walk, and three earned runs while fanning four batters.

Kory Keppen and Izayah Ulmer collected hits in the loss.


Parkston/Ethan/Tripp 8, Parker 6

PARKSTON — Parkston/Ethan/Tripp sweeps the doubleheader after a comeback victory over Parker Wednesday night.

The Trojans’ Brayden Jervik started on the mound, allowing one hit, four walks, and six runs in the first 4.1 innings, before Luke Bormann came in and shutout Parker the rest of the way. Bormann allowed just one hit, two walks, while fanning six batters to pick up the win.

PET’s offense was sparked by a three-run sixth inning that helped take the lead for the comeback win.

Kaden Holzbauer racked up two hits, including a double and an RBI, while Carter Sommer recorded a two-RBI triple. Will Jodozi and Taite Klumb connected on back-to-back RBI doubles in the victory as well.

For Parker, Cale Sheaffer and Colin Robertson saw the mound in the loss, with Schaeffer allowing seven runs in 4.1 innings, striking out six batters.

 

Vermillion 11, Bon Homme/Avon 9

TYNDALL — A six-run sixth inning pushed Vermillion past Bon Homme/Avon in Region 1B action Wednesday night.

The comeback victory was sparked by a grand slam off the bat of Jack Moskowitz.

Tate Hage, Nolan Nygren, Connor Peterson, Mikey Roob, and Hayden Christopherson all collected hits in the victory.

Peterson was credited with the victory, tossing 4.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk.

For Bon Homme/Avon, Easton Mudder recorded the loss, surrendering two hits, one walk, and five runs in two innings pitched.

Easton Mudder and Jace Toupal both had huge days at the plate, Mudder went 4-for-5 with a double and five-RBIs, while Toupal connected on two solo home runs.

Landon Bares and Major Aarstad added two hits apiece in the loss.


Bon Homme/Avon 12, Canton C-Hawks 2 (5 Innings)

TYNDALL — Landon Schmidt reached base safely three times, including a two-run home run to propel Bon Homme/Avon past Canton Wednesday night.

Alongside Schmidt, Easton Mudder went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk, driving in two runs.

Jackson Caba, Chapin Cooper, Jace Toupal, Jackson Kaul, and Major Aarstad all collected hits in the win.

Isaiah Crownover earned the victory on the mound, allowing five hits, two walks, and two runs in 4.2 innings pitched.

For Canton, Hunter Richmond tallied the loss, allowing seven hits, four walks, and eight runs in four innings pitched.

Richmond also led the team in hits with two, while three other batters each tallied one hit in the loss.


West Central 7, McCook Central/Montrose 3

SALEM — Three pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts as the Trojans knocked off the Burros Wednesday night. 

West Central was consistent at the plate, scoring runs in every inning but one. Three players tallied multiple hits for the Trojans, Keaton Vessels went 2-for-3 with a walk and two-RBIs, Gunnar Alfson went 2-for-4 with a double driving in a runner, and Jesse Jost drove in another runner on two hits, including a double.

Brodie Herr started on the mound for West Central, surrendering two runs on three walks while fanning six batters in three innings of work.

Cade Alfson and Hayden Whiting came on in relief of Herr, combining for two hits, three walks, one run, and four strikeouts across the final five innings.

For MCM, Zane McCormick earned the loss on the mound, suffering seven hits, four walks, and four earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched.

Carter Randall and Lane Duetsch each tallied hits in the loss.


Redfield Area 14, Elkton Blue Sox 9

REDFIELD — Kevin Weller struck out 10 batters as Redfield Area picked up a high school baseball win over Elkton Blue Sox on Wednesday.

Weller allowed five hits, eight runs (four earned) and walked four batters in his six-inning start. Weller added one hit at the plate. Micah Zastrow finished 3-of-4 and drove in a run. Elijah Morrissette, Hunter Binger and Chase Odland had two hits apiece. Noah Johnson drove in three runs. Erik Salmen hammered a solo home run. 

Elkton’s Samuel Schuurman, Colt Beck, Lane Schindler, Wyatt Osland and Alec Aguilar each had a hit. Aguilar drove in two runs. Beck took the loss after surrendering 10 hits, nine earned runs, four walks and struck out two batters in his three-inning start. 


Hanson/Bridgewater/Emery 5, Mount Vernon-Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 4

CORSICA — Hayden Schroeder got the best of the pitchers duel as HBE outlasted MVPCS Wednesday night.

Schroeder allowed five hits, three walks, and four earned runs while fanning four batters for the complete game win.

Jayce Slaba and Ben Wilber each had multi-hit games, with Slaba going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Wilber went 2-for-2 including a solo home run and two walks.

Weston Kayser, Brayden Bahmuller, Esten Schlimgen, and AJ Wilber each collected hits in the win.

For MVPCS, Tyson Wentland was credited with the loss, surrendering eight hits, four walks, and five runs while fanning nine batters in seven innings of work.

Wentland led the team in hits with two, a double and a two-run home run in the first inning. Tyce Feistner, Jim Choc, Isaiah Olson all collected hits in the loss.


Winner/Colome 5, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 4

WINNER — Four runs across the final three frames propelled Winner/Colome past Chamberlain Wednesday night.

Landon Calhoon earned the victory on the mound for the Royals, tallying one hit, and one strikeout to close out the win. Calhoon also tallied two hits and two-RBIs at the plate

Aiden Barfuss, Zac Olson, and Ryder Halligan each had multi-hit games, Barfuss went 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple that scored a run, Olson went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Halligan added two singles. Quincy Phillips went 1-for-2 with two walks and a triple in the victory as well.

Blake Leiferman took the loss for CKL, surrendering three hits and three earned runs in one inning on the mound.

Dakota Munger was the best bat for CKL, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI-double. Hudson Heath, Leiferman, Conway Collins, and Braden Oldenkamp all tallied hits in the loss.
