Rapid City Christian 6, Belle Fourche 3

GREGORY — Simon Kieffer tosses nine strikeouts as the No. 6 seed Comets advanced to the Class B State Tournament Monday night.

Kieffer threw all seven innings to grab the win on the mound, allowing five hits and three runs.

The Comets were limited to just three hits, two coming from Trevor Wilcox including an RBI, and another RBI-double and a walk off the bat of Cayden Von Eye.

RCC took advantage of five walks and three Belle Fourche errors to help build and maintain the lead.

For the Broncs, Aiden Voyles took the loss on the mound, surrendering three hits, five walks, and six runs in four innings.

Nolan Wahlfeldt paced the Belle Fourche offense with two hits, while Voyles, Gavin Pearson, and Caeyn Howard each tallied hits in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 7, Winner/Colome 6 (8 innings)

GREGORY — A thriller in Region 4B ends in an upset victory for No. 6 seeded Comets over Winner/Colome Monday evening.

Rapid City Christian held the lead until the bottom of the sixth when the Royals tied at 5-5. In extras, RCC took a 7-5 lead but W/C couldn’t answer after getting the tying run on second.

Cayden Von Eye earned the win on the mound for RCC, allowing three hits, one walk, and one unearned run in 2.2 innings pitched. Micaiah Griffith started on the hill, issuing four hits, three walks, and five runs in 5.1 innings.

Von Eye, Benson Kieffer, Simon Kieffer, and Griffith each tallied multi-hit games, Von Eye went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Benson Kieffer tallied two hits, including a double and a run batted in, Simon Kieffer collected two hits and walk, and Griffith went 2-for-4 with another RBI.

For W/C, Landon Calhoon took the loss in his relief outing, surrendering seven hits, two walks, and two runs in three innings. Aiden Barfuss gave up four hits, two walks, and five runs in five innings pitched as well.

Zac Olson, Quincy Phillips, and Aiden Schroeder each collected two hits in the loss, including doubles by Olson and Schroeder.


Belle Fourche 3, Gregory County 1

GREGORY — The Broncs held Gregory to just two hits as they knocked off the No. 2 seed in Region 4B Monday afternoon.

Nolan Wahlfeldt did the majority of the work on the mound for the Broncs, allowing just two hits, four walks, and one unearned run in 5.2 innings, but Caeyn Howard earned the victory in his relief outing, striking out one in the final 1.1 innings.

Wahlfeldt and Harvey Walding did the most damage at the plate, both going 2-for-3 with a double, with Walfeldt driving in a run.

Carsyn Hahne, Gavin Pearson, and Aiden Voyles each added hits in the win.

For Gregory County, Gannon Thomas took the loss on the bump, surrendering three hits, a walk, and two runs in 1.1 innings.

Rylan Peck and Jayder Schonebaum tallied the lone hits in the loss.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 6, St. Thomas More 0

CHAMBERLAIN — Caden Oberbroekling’s 14 strikeout performance helped the Honkers move on in Region 4B playoffs Monday afternoon.

Oberbroeckling allowed just three hits and zero walks in his complete game shutout to help take down the No. 4 seed in Region 4B.

Four Honkers collected two hits in the win, Jye Bailey went 2-for-4, Tanner Dyk batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Joey Foxley added two hits, a walk, and two RBIs, and Maddux VanZee also collected two hits.

Kenyon Kuiper, Hayden Sprik, and Ashton Krumvieda also collected hits in the win.

Turner Thompson took the loss for STM, suffering 10 hits, two walks, and five earned runs in six innings on the mound.

Chase Donelly, Marcus Stauffer, and Holden Griswold each tallied hits in the loss.


Hot Springs 3, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 0

CHAMBERLAIN — In a major upset, the 8-seeded Bison shutout the top seed in Region 4B to move to the state qualifying game Monday night.

Jaydon Koffler took home the victory in a dominant complete game outing throwing five strikeouts, allowing six hits and two walks.

Hot Springs was limited to just four hits in the win, with Torin Knight leading the charge collecting two, while Koffler and Blake Hanes added the other two base knocks.

For C/K/L, Sandler Wiekamp took the loss issuing three hits, one walk, and two runs over 3.1 innings pitched. Hudson Heath led the team in hits with two, while Blake Leiferman, Dakota Munger, Cooper Leiferman, and Wiekamp each tallied hits in the loss.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 4, Hot Springs 3

CHAMBERLAIN — Tanner Dyk threw a complete game and drove in the game winning run as PG/DC/WL punched their ticket to the State B tournament Monday night.

Dyk allowed eight hits, a walk, and three runs in his seven innings pitched while batting 1-for-2 with a walk and the game-winning RBI for the Honkers.

Cade Oberbroekling tallied a double and a walk, Jye Bailey Hayden Sprik and Kenyon Kuiper each tallied hits in the win as well.

For Hot Springs, Nik Cruz took the loss on the mound, throwing six innings, allowing five hits, two walks, and four runs while striking out five. Cruz also tallied two hits in the lead-off spot for the Bison.

Blake Hanes batted 2-for-4 with a double, while Kyle Fisher, York Naze, Torin Knight, and Brock Schroeder each added hits in the loss.


Elk Point-Jefferson 5, Vermillion 2

TYNDALL — The Huskies hold on late to earn the upset victory over the No. 3 seed Tanagers in Region 1B playoffs Monday afternoon.

Keaton Gale was the biggest factor in the Huskies win, recording 10 strikeouts while allowing six hits, two walks and two runs in his 6.2 innings, and added another three hits, including a double and three RBIs at the plate. It took just one pitch for Brody van Roekel to record the final out of the game and to get the save.

Wyatt Herrity was also efficient at the plate adding two hits in his three at-bats, While Luke Swatek added another hit, two walks, and an RBI in the win.

For Vermillion, Jack Moskowitz took the loss, allowing seven hits, four walks, and four runs in his six innings on the mound.

Trey Hansen recorded two hits on three at-bats, including a two-run home run to tie the game in the home half of the first.

Mikey Roob, Connor Peterson, Connor Roerig, and Carter Hansen all tallied hits in the loss.


Bon Homme/Avon 6, Scotland/Menno 0

TYNDALL — Landon Bares allowed one hit while fanning five batters in a complete game to move BH/A to the state qualifying round in Region 1B playoffs Monday evening.

On top of the excellent pitching performance, Bares batted 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win as well.

Easton Mudder did the most damage at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, and a home run.

Chapin Cooper, Jackson Caba, and Major Aarstad each tallied hits in the win.

For Scotland/Menno, Kory Keppen took the loss pitching three innings, allowing three hits, five walks, and four runs while striking out five.Bryce Sattler also gave up three hits a run in 2.2 innings.

Isayah Ulmer tallied the only hit for the Trappers in the loss.


Bon Homme/Avon 18, Elk Point-Jefferson 8 (6 innings)

TYNDALL — Landon Bares followed up his pitching outing in game one with five hits in game two to help Bon Homme/Avon advance to the Class B State Tournament.

Bares batted a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles and two home runs, driving in seven runs.

Along with Bares, Landon Schmidt added two hits in five at-bats, Easton Mudder batted 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs, Chapin Cooper went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Jace Toupal collected one hit and another RBI.

Jackson Haul also added a double and an RBI in the win.

Three pitchers combined for the win, with Mudder seeing the most work. In four innings, he allowed nine hits, three walks, and three runs while striking out nine.

For EPJ, Brody Van Roekel took the loss, issuing eight hits, one walk, and nine runs in four innings of work, while batting 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

The Huskies offense was highlighted by two home runs in the second inning, a three-run bomb from Jace Shatswell and a two-run home run by Wyatt Herrity.

Shatswell and Herrity combined for six RBIs in the loss.

Keaton Gale and Luke Swatek each tallied hits as well.


Sunday’s Games

Howard 15, Hamlin Area 0 (3 innings)

CANOVA — Nolan Mentele allowed just one hit as Howard advanced in Region 2B playoffs Sunday afternoon.

Mentele threw all three innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out six to shutout Hamlin Area, while adding two hits and an RBI-double in the win.

Karsyn Feldhaus and Korbin Shumaker paced the offense in hits with three apiece, including two doubles by Feldhaus and another one by Shumaker.

Kolt Koepsell went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run homerun, Luke Koepsell went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI, and Weston Remmers batted 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

For Hamlin Area, Kelby Hauck earned the loss on the mound, allowing 14 hits, two walks, and 15 runs in 2.2 innings while striking out three.

Weston Grantham tallied the only hit in the game for Hamlin Area.


Sioux Valley 7, Groton Area 5

CANOVA — Sioux Valley’s early offense helped propel the Cossacks past Groton Area in Region 2B playoffs Sunday afternoon.

Sioux Valley scored all seven runs in the first four innings but was enough to keep Groton Area from making a comeback.

Andrew Gunderson was the winning pitcher for Sioux Valley, tallying six innings pitched, allowing seven hits, four walks, and five earned runs.

Logan Loban provided a spark offensively, driving in a run on two hits, including a double.

Braden Danzeisen went 1-for-4 with an RBI-triple, and Kameron Hauck and Jack Optiz each recorded an RBI in the win.

For Groton Area, Gavin Englund took the loss on the mound, surrendering four hits, three walks, and six runs in 2.1 innings pitched. Dillon Abeln came on in relief, allowing three hits and a run while fanning seven batters in 4.2 innings.

Four Tigers recorded multi-hit games in the loss, Karsten Fliehs went 2-for-3 with a walk, Colby Dunker went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Logan Ringgenberg batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Brevin Fliehs batted 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the loss.


Howard 6, Sioux Valley 2

CANOVA — The Tigers are the first team to punch their ticket to the State B tournament as they defeated Sioux Valley Sunday afternoon.

Howard got off to an early 6-0 lead in the first two innings and played great defense the rest of the way to limit the Sioux Valley comeback.

Luke Koepsell was the winning pitcher for Howard, striking out 12 batters in seven innings, allowing seven hits, one walk, and two earned runs.

Koepsell was also efficient at the plate, batting 3-for-3, driving in three runs. Weston Remmers batted 1-for-3 with a walk and home run in the first inning, plating three runs.

Jackson Remmers batted 2-for-4, and Karsyn Feldhaus, Korbin Shumaker, and Kingston Feldhaus all tallied hits in the win.

For Sioux Valley, Kameron Hauck started on the mound for the Cossacks, allowing seven hits, three walks, and all six earned runs in the two innings while striking out two. Christopher Moberg came in and limited the Tigers to just two hits and a walk over the final four innings.

Moberg led Sioux Valley in hits with three including a double, while Logan Loban drove in the lone two runs of the game on one hit.

Broden Teske, Hauck, and Marcus Olson each tallied hits in the loss.
