Harrisburg Woodies 4, Renner Monarchs 2 (11 innings)

HARRISBURG — Kole Zimmerman’s walk-off homer lifted Harrisburg past Renner during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Zimmerman drove in two runs on the game-winning home run, Carson Drexler batted 1-for-4 with two walks and an RBI while Maddux Scherer added one hit, two walks and an RBI. Kris Regas struck out 13 batters in five innings for the victory, allowing just two runs on two hits and six walks. Tyler Mitzel added another 11 strikeouts in six innings for the Woodies.

For Renner, Jeremiah Mauch allowed two runs on four hits and six walks in four innings, striking out six.

Ben Ihrke tallied two hits while Josh Olson drove in two runs on one hit and two walks in the loss.


Irene Cardinals 8, Beresford Blues 7

IRENE — Irene held off a late rally to beat Beresford during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Bailey Neuhauser allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings for Irene. Cole Edberg drove in three runs on two hits, a homer and a walk, Alex Kopf and Jacob Kribell each tallied two hits while Anthony De La Torre Guglielmana drove in a run on one hit in the win.

Beresford’s Matt Sisk allowed eight runs on 10 hits and 10 walks in eight innings, striking out four. Sam Thorson batted 4-for-4, Sisk and Brandon Ruud each tallied two hits, Andrew Halling drove in two runs on a double, while Mike Chartier drove in a run on two hits and a walk in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 16, Menno MadFrogs 6 (7 innings)

YANTKON — Lucas Kampshoff and Will Rauch each drove in four runs as the Yankton Lakers defeated Menno in South Central league action Thursday.

Kampshoff batted 4-for-4 with a double, walk and four RBIs, Will Rauch hit a grand slam to drive in four runs, Shugo Kondo batted 1-for-1 with five walks and three RBIs, Brett Cooley and Mitch Gullickson each drove in a run on two hits and a walk while Rugby Ryken drove in a run on one hit in the win. Kieren Luellman earned the win on the mound, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings, striking out five.

For Menno, Bryce Sattler took the loss allowing 16 runs on 13 hits and 12 walks in 6.1 innings, striking out two. Spencer Schultz drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, Connor Merriam tallied one RBI on one hit and two walks, while Bryce Sattler, Brayden Sattler and Dylan Lehr each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 18, Flandreau Cardinals 1 (6 innings)

FLANDREAU — Four different Gamecocks drove in three runs as Hartford/Humboldt defeated Flandreau during Thursday’s Cornbelt league action.

Jonah Rechtenbaugh drove in three runs on one hit and two walks, Joe Hanisch tallied three hits and three RBIs, Walker Hultgren drove in a trio of runs on a double and three walks, while Broc Haldeman added three RBIs on a double and a walk. Devon Garry tallied three hits, a double and an RBI. Cam Quigley batted 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, Chad Morrison tallied two hits, a walk and an RBI, while Adam Hentges and Noah Vettrus each drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the win. Carver Hultgren took the win allowing just one run on five hits and four walks in four innings, striking out two.

For Flandreau, Tison Burgraff allowed two runs on one hit and five walks in three innings. JaColby Anderson drove in a run on a hit and a walk while Jacob Patterson tallied two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 6, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 2

DELL RAPIDS — Drew Sweeter drove in two runs in Dell Rapids PBR’s Cornbelt league win over Madison Thursday.

Sweeter batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the win, Connor Spindler tallied two hits and an RBI, while Riley Calhoon and Riley Hoffman each drove in a run on one hit in the win. Tanner Solberg took the win allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in three innings pitched, striking out five batters.

For Madison, Riley Kearin took the loss allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in 2.1 innings. Dawson Bakker drove in a run on two hits in the loss.


Lesterville Broncs 7, Crofton Bluejays 1 (Neb.)

CROFTON — Lesterville struck out 16 batters as the Broncs defeated Crofton in a South Central league battle Thursday.

Dawson Bietz took the victory on the mound allowing just one run on three hits and two walks in three innings, striking out five batters. Derek Quame tallied two hits and two RBIs, Karson Bierle drove in two runs on one hit while Tanner Skorepa added two hits in the win.

For Crofton, Zach Hegge drove in a run on a double and a walk in the loss.


Platte Killer Tomatoes 3, Mitchell Aces 2

PLATTE — Dawson Hoffman tossed seven strong innings as Platte clipped Mitchell in Sunshine league action Thursday.

Hoffman allowed just two runs on nine hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out seven batters. Hayden Kuiper and Grayson Hanson each tallied two hits, Preston Nedved drove in two runs on a triple and a walk while Hunter Hewitt added an RBI on a walk in the win.

For Mitchell, Parker Mandel allowed one run on four hits and five walks in six innings, striking out nine batters. Jacob Kleinsasser drove in a run on two hits while Karter Sibson and Conor Mattke each tallied two hits in the loss.


Flandreau Blue Teal 10, Salem Cubs 5

SALEM — Flandreau collected 11 hits as the Blue Teal topped Salem in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

Kolby Peters drove in two runs on two doubles and two walks, Michael Witte drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Emmot Nathan tallied two doubles and an RBI while Sam Gassman added two hits and one RBI in the win. Tash Lunday, who batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, earned the victory on the mound allowing three runs on four hits and seven walks in eight innings, striking out six batters.

For Salem, Luke Loudenburg took the loss allowing two runs on five hits and a walk in four innings, striking out three.

Tyler Earls and Cody Lofswold each drove in a run on a walk while Tyler Cleveland added an RBI as well.


Alexandria Angels 9, Parkston Devil Rays 1

PARKSTON — Alexandria scored seven early runs to stun the Parkston Devil Rays during Thursday’s Sunshine league action.

Cole Wenande drove in four runs on two doubles and two walks for the Angels, Jackson Jarding drove in two runs on a walk and an RBI, while Pierce Smith added two RBIs on one hit and one walk in the win. Alex Ferrin took the win on the mound allowing just one run on four hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out 10 batters.

For Parkston, Ty Neuegebauer allowed four runs on three hits and three walks in two innings pitched, striking out three batters. Carter Sommer batted 3-for-4 in the loss for the Devil Rays.


Brookings Cubs 5, Brandon Belugas 4

BROOKINGS — Isaac Bonner drove in three runs as Brookings clipped Brandon during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Bonner batted 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer driving in three runs in the win. Chase McDaniels and Justin Cofell each tallied two hits while Lincoln Vasgaard and Myles Rees each drove in runs on one hit in the win. Zach Struck earned the victory on the mound in three shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks.

For Brandon, Jared Zerr allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks in two innings. Daniel Buteyn drove in two runs on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Tabor Bluebirds 11, Freeman Blacksox 3

TABOR — Tabor pounded 11 hits as the Bluebirds defeated Freeman during Thursday’s South Central league action.

Easton Mudder batted 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBIs, Landon Bares added two hits and a walk, while Riley Rothschadl, Matt Brown, Chase Kortan, Sam Caba and Zach Sutera each drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Freeman, Trey Ortman allowed six runs on two hits and seven walks in 2.1 innings. Rocky Ammann, Jake Weier and Bailey Sage each tallied two hits, with Sage driving in a run. Ortman and Colton Spader each drove in a run in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 14, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 7

HUMBOLDT — Chad Hunt drove in three runs as the Dell Rapids Mudcats took down the Wood Ducks in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

Hunt had just one double and one walk to drive in three runs, Austin Henry added three hits and two RBIs, Grant Olson drove in two runs on one hit while Travis Peters drove in three runs on one hit in the win as well. John Spaeth took the victory on the mound, allowing one hit and one walk in two innings, striking out three.

For the Wood Ducks, Brodie Herr allowed two runs on one hit and one walk in five innings, striking out nine.

Nathan Adrian had three hits, Jearl Jesson tallied two hits while Orlando Whiting drove in two runs in the loss.


Mt. Vernon Mustangs 12, Corsica Horned Frogs 4

CORSICA — Mt. Vernon tallied 10 hits as the Mustangs defeated Corsica during Sunshine league action Thursday.

Chase Hetland batted 3-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs, Brady Albrecht drove in three runs on one hit, Spencer Neuegebauer added two hits, three walks, a double and an RBI, Eric Giblin recorded two RBIs on one hit and one walk, while Cameron Deinert totaled two hits in the win. Deric Denning tossed eight innings for the ‘Stangs, allowing two runs on nine hits and four walks, striking out eight batters.

For Corsica, Blake Moke allowed five runs on four hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out two. Tyson Wentland drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Jayce Slaba added two hits in the loss.
