Miller's Isaak Hunter breaks two school records at Platte-Geddes Last Chance Meet

PLATTE — Miller’s Isaak Hunter ran into the school record books on Thursday. 

The junior won the 110-meter hurdles (14.73) and the 300-meter hurdles (39.88) at the Platte-Geddes Last Chance Meet. Hunter’s 110-meter hurdles time broke the previous Miller school record set by Tom Peterka (14.8) in 1975. Hunter’s 300-meter hurdles time broke his own school record (40.6) set earlier this season. 

Miller’s Pierce Baumberger claimed the 3,200 meter run as well (10:45.15).

In girls action, Ethan/Parkston (169) ran away with the team score, finishing ahead of Winner (100) and Chamberlain (89.5). EP’s Taylor Fink led the javelin throw (103-04), Rory Juhnke won the girls long jump (15-06), while Marissa Storm took the top spot in the triple jump (34-06.25). Juhnke, Storm, Berkeley Ziebart and Lauren Ziebart won the girls 800-meter relay for the Trojans as well.

Winner’s Daisy McIntyre won the girls 100-meter dash (12.88) while Keelie Kuil won the 200-meter dash (26.53) and the 400-meter race (1:00.85). Winner’s McIntyre, Kylie Sachtjen, Livvy Audiss and Kuil won the girls 400-meter relay (3:32.99).

Platte-Geddes’ Taylor Schrank took the 800-meter run (2:24.84) and Claire Maydew won the pole vault (9-01).

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton’s Reagan Rus took the 100-meter hurdles (15.34) and the 300-meter hurdles (47.15). Abigail Engelland claimed the 3,200 meter run (11:57.81). The quartet of Rus, Engelland, Aspen Bosma and Sammi Eide won the 1,600 meter relay (4:17.18) as well.

Kimball/White Lake’s Autumn Baker led the 1,600 meter run (5:21.16).

Chamberlain’s Piper Powell won the girls discus throw (122-04). Chamberlain’s Evelyn Bunker, Alexandra Schmiedt, Nicole Schmiedt and Grace Phillips took the sprint medley relay (4:30.51) while Phillips, Sasha Van Den Bosch, Silvana Houska and Kylah Biggins won the 3,200-meter relay (10:15.33). 

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal claimed the high jump (5-03) and shot put (34-11.75) for the Red Raiders.

In boys action, Platte-Geddes (133) won the team score, finishing ahead of Winner (130) and Ethan-Parkston (119). Platte-Geddes’ Carson Vanden Berge won the 100-meter dash (11.00) and 200-meter dash (22.36). Holdyn Gallagher claimed the shot put event (43-10.75). Braxton Breukelman, Quincy Stephens, Hayden Sprik and Vanden Berge won the 400-meter relay. The same quartet took the 800-meter relay (1:31.32) as well. Isaac Leader, Ziggy Duffy, Tate Maxon and Easton Schuman won the 3,200-meter relay (9:12.38) for the Panthers.

MVP’s Riley Mayer took the top spot in the 400-meter dash (52.81) while Kyle Sandland won the pole vault event (10-01).

Winner’s Karson Keiser won the 800-meter run (1:59.11) while Jaxon Day took the discus throw (161-05). Keiser, Jackson Bachmann, Austin Blare and Kellen Brozik won the 1,600 meter dash (3:32.99) as well.

KWL’s Park Sinclair took the 1,600-meter run (4:46.16). Sinclair, Chevy Fees, Carter Konechne and Lincoln Kranig won the special medley relay (3:46.59) for the WiLdKats.

Wagner’s Shea Kjeldgaard took the boys high jump event (5-09) and Javian Pesicka claimed the javelin toss (166-08).

Ethan/Parkston’s James Deckert won the long jump (22-06.75) while Mason Jervik claimed the triple jump (40-01.50).
