PHILIP — Newell’s Lucille Ahart and Philip’s Jack Peterson captured individual titles at Wednesday’s Region 5B cross-country at the Lake Waggoner Golf Course.

Ahart won the individual title finishing with a time of 21:09.05 ahead of Lemmon's Briley Gebhart (21:13.16) who took second place. Dupree’s Maddlyn Red Bear (21:40.04) clipped Lemmon’s Chel Odenbach (21:40.89) for third place, while Harding County’s Kalla Padden (21:54.90) rounded out the top-5.

In the boys race, Peterson took the individual title with a time of 16:26.28, just ahead of teammate Baylor Burns (16:39.87). Dupree’s Tayshaun Cudmore (17:04.54) and Spencer Olsen (17:13.57) each took third and four places, while White River’s Elijah Haukaas (17:13.79) rounded out the top-5.

The Lemmon girls took the Region 5B team title scoring 22 points, while Harding County took second place with 33 points. 

The Philip boys ran away with the team score finishing with 27 points, Dupree came in second at 46 points, while Lemmon (68) clipped White River (69) for third place in the team scores.
