WEBSTER — Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide and James Valley Christian’s Kaden Ober claimed individual titles at Wednesday’s Region 1B cross-country meet. 

Boekelheide covered the 5,000-meter distance at the Webster Golf Club in 19 minutes and :06.25 seconds. Deubrook Area’s Nora Olsen (19:46.53) and Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith (19:53.34) finished second and third, respectively. Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus (19:58.84) and Kalynn Oban (20:02.66) rounded out the top-five girls runners. 

Ober won the boys race in 17:15.50, followed by Castlewood’s Nolan Eidson (18:00.91). JVC’s Kolby VanDerWerff (18:01.38), Faulkton Area’s Korbin Stark (18:21.69) and Frederick Area’s Titus Kippley (18:23.91) rounded out the top-five boys runners. 

Ipswich won the girls team title with 12 points, followed by Northwestern (19) and Deubrook Area (27). JVC won the boys team title with 11 points, followed by Frederick Area (29) and Northwestern (31).
