Oct. 15 Volleyball Roundup - Rustlers win Miller Invitational

MILLER — Miller won its home invitational on Saturday in high school volleyball action. 

The Rustlers defeated Takini (25-1, 25-8), Britton-Hecla (25-13, 25-7), Sully Buttes (25-19, 25-17) and Aberdeen Roncalli (25-14, 25-14) en route to the championship. 

In the final match against Roncalli, Ally Mullaney and Jaden Werdel finished with eight kills apiece. Werdel added seven digs. Abbi Blake and Aleah Schlachter had five kills apiece. Tyra Gates recorded 21 assists and five digs, while Blake had three aces. Jolie Palmer posted 13 digs and one ace. Shaylee Anderberg logged six digs. Blake and Schlechter each had solo blocks.

Aberdeen Roncalli stats were not reported. 


Mobridge-Pollock wins Milbank tourney

MILBANK — Mobridge-Pollock defeated Hamlin to capture the team championship at Saturday’s Milbank tournament. In the championship match, the set scores were 28-26, 25-22 and 25-23. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson finished with 10 kills and three aces, while Mariah Goehring finished with nine kills. Ryli Thompson added seven kills. Emma Keller finished with 18 assists, five kills and one ace. Katy Kemnitz added 16 assists and four assists. Reagan Weisbeck logged 15 digs, while Raelyn Aberle had 10 digs. Gretchen Olson had six digs. Emily Hatzenbuhler had a solo block. 

Hamlin’s Ally Abraham finished with 21 kills and two aces. Gracelyn Leiseth and Addie Neuendorf had eight kills apiece. Leiseth finished with a solo block. Kami Wadsworth finished with 28 assists. Neuendorf and Marissa Bawdon had 15 and 13 digs, respectively. Bawdon had three acces. 


Aberdeen Central 3, Yankton 1

YANKTON — Aberdeen Central picked up a four-set win over Yankton on Saturday. The set scores were 24-26, 25-18, 25-11, and 25-15.

Yankton’s Camryn Koletzky had nine kills and 15 digs, while Macy Drotzmann recorded five kills, 18 digs, and one ace. Ava Koller tallied four kills, 14 digs, and four aces, while Camille McDermott added two kills, two aces, 19 assists, and 15 digs.

Aberdeen Central stats were not reported.
