White River 92, Bennett County 87 (2OT)

MURDO — White River outlasted Bennett County in double overtime at the 58th annual Jones County Invitational in boys basketball action on Thursday. 

White River’s Bryson One Star tossed in 34 points. Kreg Stoddard and Jaxon Krogman finished with 14 points apiece. Mehki Krogman finished with 12 points. Maddox Marshall scored eight points and Trey Rattling Leaf had seven points.

For Bennett County, Rush O’Neill netted 31 points. Caysen Soderlin added 22 points and Kelan Cottier scored nine points. Hayden Risse and Davon Cottier had seven points apiece. Ryker Heath added six points.


Platte-Geddes 73, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 71 (OT)

ARMOUR — Isaac Leader’s 39-point double-double powered Platte-Geddes over Tripp-Delmont/Armour in boys basketball action Thursday.

Leader led the Black Panthers with 39 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in the win, Jameson Leader had 12 points, 13 rebounds and three steals, Jye Bailey added seven rebounds, six points and three assists while Ziggy Duffy collected six points as well.

For TDA, Ashton Koster had 28 points, Grant Wunder totaled 13 points while Daylin Kok netted 11 points in the loss.


Jones County 46, Crazy Horse 45

MURDO — Jones County edged Crazy Horse for a boys basketball win at Thursday’s 58th annual Jones County Invitational.

Jones County’s Bryer Kinsley finished with 25 points, while Bodie Whitney scored five points.

For Crazy Horse, Truman Randall and Ayden Dull Knife scored nine points apiece. Daelen Doyle scored eight points. Jimmy Ten Fingers had seven points and Terrell Ashley scored six points.


Lennox 60, Vermillion 58

LENNOX — Aiden Hanssen’s buzzer-beating layup pushed Class A No. 10 Lennox over Class A No. 8 Vermillion in boys basketball action Thursday..

Hanssen led the Orioles with 22 points and hit the game-winning shot as time expired. Tate Gerdes added 17 points and scored his 1,000th career point. Teegan Musser recorded 12 points while Cole Spieler added five in the win.

For Vermillion, Trey Hansen scored 34 points in the loss while Gabe Larsen added 14 points for the Tanagers.


Deubrook Area 66, Estelline-Hendricks 59

ESTELLINE — Four players scored in double figures as Class B No. 9 Deubrook Area defeated Class B No. 10 Estelline-Hendricks in boys basketball action Thursday.

Chance Schoenfeld led the Dolphins with 17 points, Josh Moberg added 15 points, Isaac Gass recorded 13 points while Braxton Bednarek had 12 points in the win.

For EH, Drayden Cokens had 19 points and four steals, Kyler Carlson poured in 13 points with six boards while Cade Hexem added 13 points in the loss.


Stanley County 66, Philip 22

MURDO — Paxton Deal and Eddie Duffy powered Stanley County to a boys basketball win at Thursday’s 58th annual Jones County Invitational. 

Deal tossed in 29 points and hit four 3-pointers. Duffy added 14 points. Teegyn Breitag and James Fosheim scored six points apiece. Jack Deal scored five points.

For Philip, Carson Fugate added seven points. 


Lyman 52, Kadoka Area 31

MURDO — Three players scored in double figures to power Lyman to a boys basketball win at Thursday’s 58th annual Jones County Invitational.

Lyman’s Dawsen Volmer finished with 15 points, while Chase Seaboy added 12 points. Cole Kieffer added 10 points. MJ Diehm scored six points.

For Kadoka Area, Kole Hermann finished with eight points. Riley Running Enemy scored six points. 


Sully Buttes 60, Miller 57

ONIDA — Class B No. 4 Sully Buttes edged Miller for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Jett Yackley led the Chargers with 27 points and Gavin Colson added 18 points.

Miller’s Will Resel scored 20 points. 


Clark/Willow Lake 73, De Smet 42

CLARK — Four players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 3 Clark/Willow Lake to a boys basketball win over Class B No. 2 De Smet on Thursday. 

CWL’s Chris Bevers finished with 24 points, five rebounds, four 3-pointers and three assists. Bo Begeman added 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Sullivan Felberg posted 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Emmerson Larson had 11 points and nine rebounds. Joey Ries scored six points.

For De Smet, Grant Wilkinson finished with 20 points and six rebounds. Noah Luethmers and Slayten Wilkinson scored eight points apiece. Wilkinson grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Luethmers had three rebounds.


Mobridge-Pollock 56, Crow Creek 31

MOBRIDGE — A balanced scoring attack paced Mobridge-Pollock to a boys basketball victory over Crow Creek Thursday.

Kale Knudson led the Tigers with 17 points, Trueth Crow Ghost netted 12 points while Shooter Frederick and Kyson Good Shield each had nine points in the win.

For CC, Justin St. John had 11 points, Domitrius St. Pierre had six points while Jevjuan Dion tallied five points in the loss.


Freeman 60, Bon Homme 36

FREEMAN — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 8 Freeman to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Freeman’s David Walter finished with 20 points and eight rebounds. Tayden Kerrigan posted 13 points and three assists. Tate Sorensen recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Luke Peters had five points, five rebounds and four assists. Luke Miller had five rebounds. 

Bon Homme stats were not reported.


Parkston 62, Wagner 31

WAGNER — Three players scored in double figures to power Parkston to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Parkston’s Brycen Bruening finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Mason Jervik added 14 points and five assists. Grady Bowar totaled 11 points, while Sean Deckert had nine points, seven rebounds and five assists. 

For Wagner, Carlos Galindo had 14 points. Jesse Zephier scored 11 points.


Irene-Wakonda 58, Centerville 49

CENTERVILLE — Hayden Hansen and Brody Johnke combined for 38 points as Irene-Wakonda knocked off Centerville in boys basketball action Thursday.

Hansen led the Eagles with 20 points and six assists while Johnke netted 18 points. Cain Healy had 10 points while Christian Putman poured in eight points and 11 boards in the win.

For Centerville, Ethan Bobzin had 17 points, Corbin Tople collected 10 points, Tucker Martz had eight points while Alec Austin added seven points and seven boards in the loss.


Viborg-Hurley 61, Gayville-Volin 39

HURLEY — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Brady Schroedermeier finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists. Jake Austin had 14 points and five boards. Nolan Kolthoff added 13 points and nine rebounds. Braydyn Morrison scored five points and Walker Warwick added seven assists.

For GV, Carter Barron and Will Fairley scored 10 points apiece. 


Castlewood 61, Great Plains Lutheran 27

WATERTOWN — Class B No. 3 Castlewood topped Great Plains Lutheran in Thursday boys basketball action.

Castlewood’s Kamden Keszler finished with 18 points and three 3-pointers. Brody Bass added 10 points, while Will Aderhold had nine points and 10 boards. Trevor Everson scored nine points. Tyson Manley scored seven points and Leonard Wernke had six points. 

For GPL, Holden Karli scored eight points and Isaac Kjenstad had five points.


Gregory 55, Kimball/White Lake 33

KIMBALL — Colt Keiser scored 20 points as Gregory knocked off Kimball/White Lake in boys basketball action Thursday.

Keiser finished with 20 points while Lincoln Juracek and Jacob Klein each had nine points in the win.

For KWL, Keaton Christensen tallied 15 points while Kamden Hamiel had seven points in the loss.


Hamlin 68, Webster Area 30 

HAYTI — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 6 Hamlin to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Jackson Wadsworth finished with 25 points and three 3-pointers. Boden Stevenson added 15 points and Owen Taschner scored 10 points. Trig Heinrich scored seven points and Jack Storm scored five points.

For Webster Area, Jeryn McCreary scored six points. Jack Schumaker and Gage Wik scored five points apiece. 


Flandreau 59, Madison 52

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures to power Flandreau to a Thursday boys basketball win.

Flandreau’s Xavier Bien finished with 15 points and four 3-pointers. Luke Sheppard added 14 points and six rebounds. Alexavier Porter had 12 points and three rebounds. Kody Kneebone posted eight points and three rebounds. Jadon Eng had six points.

For Madison, Henry Veenhof totaled 20 points, four 3-pointers, three steals and three rebounds. Shane Veenhof totaled 10 points and three rebounds. Nolan Nielsen had nine points and seven rebounds. Casyn Crabtree added six points. 


Milbank 65, Redfield 42

MILBANK — Sam Rick powered Milbank to a boys basketball win over Redfield on Thursday.

Rick poured in 31 points, hit four 3-pointers and collected four rebounds. Lincoln Holscher added eight points and five boards. Jeter Scoular and Emmett Snaza scored seven points apiece. Scoular grabbed nine rebounds, while Snaza added five boards. Ryan Keeton scored six points.

For Redfield, Jacksan Rude scored 12 points and added three rebounds. Eloi Shottenkirk scored 11 points, while Grady Hulscher added nine points. 


Groton Area 83, Tiospa Zina 9 

GROTON — Ryder Johnson scored 15 points and recorded his 1,000th career point as Class A No. 7 Groton Area picked up a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Johnson finished with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Keegen Tracy posted 14 points and four steals. Gage Sippel had nine points and three rebounds. Ryder Schelle and Anthony Tracy scored eight points apiece. Ethan Kroll scored six points. 

For TZ, Isaac Rodlund scored six points.
