Pierre 35, Spearfish 15

PIERRE — Kaleb Lounsbury and Elijah Boutchee powered Pierre past Class 11AA No. 2 Spearfish for a Friday high school football win.

Lounsbury threw touchdown passes to George Stalley and Carter Schiefelbein. Boutchee added two rushing touchdowns for Pierre, which improved to 4-4. 

For Spearfish, Hunter Walters had a rushing touchdown. Thomas Hughes threw a five-yard passing touchdown to Dylon Doren for Spearfish (6-2). 

Hamlin 40, Elkton-Lake Benton 35

ELKTON — Class 9AA No. 2 Hamlin held off a 17-point comeback to defeat Class 9AA No. 3 Elkton-Lake Benton during Friday’s high school football action.

Hamlin’s quarterback Jackson Wadsworth completed 13-of-19 pass attempts for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Mason Trowbridge totaled 87 yards and a score on 13 carries, while Evan Stormo had 12 yards and a score on seven carries including three catches for 45 yards in the win as well.

Dawson Noem also had a two-yard rushing touchdown on a sneak. Zac VanMeeteren caught four passes for 99 yards and a score while Turner Stevenson tallied 29 yards on four catches.

ELB’s Colt Beck led the offense with 179 yards through the air including two passing touchdowns, while adding 108 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 19 carries in the loss.Eliot Erickson controlled the run game with 21 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown, while catching two passes for 21 yards.

Tanner Stein caught four passes for 71 yards and a score while Tanner Drietz had 71 yards on just two catches, one for a touchdown in the loss. Stein led the Elks defense with 13 tackles, while Erickson had 10.


Rapid City Christian 44, Custer 7

RAPID CITY — Simon Kieffer tossed a school record six passing touchdowns in Rapid City Christian’s high school football win over Custer.

Kieffer completed 14-of-20 passes for 219 yards, while rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown. Kieffer also set the school record for total touchdowns (78) and pass completions (391), while also setting the single-season passing touchdowns record (25). 

Sully Kieffer rushed for 86 yards and hauled in a 19-yard touchdown reception. Wes Schlabach had four catches for 62 yards and a touchdown catch. Benson Kieffer added two catches for 62 yards and a receiving touchdown. Lars Kieffer posted two catches for 43 yards and a receiving touchdown. Justus Beautiful Bald Eagle had five receptions for 43 yards and caught two touchdowns. Schlabach had 13 tackles and a tackle for loss. Malachai Maseman added 10 tackles and a tackle for loss. Reagan Koskan had 10 tackles. Schlabach set the school record for total tackles with 329, breaking the previous record set by his brother Sam. 

Wagner 42, Miller/Highmore-Harrold 28

MILLER — Gannon Knebel had a hand in five total touchdowns as Wagner picked up a Friday high school football win.

Knebel rushed 21 times for 155 yards and scored three touchdowns, while he completed 12-of-17 passes for 173 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Hunter Lhotak rushed for 55 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. Carlos Galindo hauled in six catches for 112 yards and caught a touchdown. Shae Kjeldgaard hauled in a touchdown catch, while Lhotak had 36 yards receiving. 

Wagner rushed for 210 yards. 

Miller/Highmore-Harrold stats were not reported.


Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 28, Parker 8 

PARKER — Holden Wollman and Macklen Weber powered Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan to a Friday high school football win. 

Wollman finished with 16 carries for 128 yards and one rushing touchdown. Weber added 137 yards rushing on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns. Wollmann added 26 passing yards. Braeden Nebelsick posted 22 receiving yards. 

For Parker, Michael Even had 44 yards rushing on 12 carries. Landon Wieman completed 6-for-18 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. Colin Robertson hauled in three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Even posted 12 tackles. 


Sully Buttes 60, Sunshine Bible Academy 6

MILLER — Kadyn Westergren powered Class 9B No. 4 Sully Buttes to a high school football win on Friday.

Westergren rushed for 269 yards on 12 carries and scored four touchdowns. Wesley Wittler completed 3-of-6 passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns. Gavin Colson and Trever Marshall both hauled in touchdown catches. Lucas Arcoren had two interceptions on defense. Colson, Teghan Westphal and Marshall each had interceptions. 

For SBA, Tarrence Mickelson rushed for 24 yards. Toby Mickelson passed for nine yards. Toby Mickelson had seven tackles. Ross Vander Vorst had a 33-yard fumble return for a score. 


Ipswich 58, North Central 6

IPSWICH — Big nights from Max Kulesa and Kyle Hettich lead Ipswich to a win over North Central in Friday’s football action

Kulesa had a hand in six touchdowns, two rushing and four passing. Kulesa hit Kyle Hettich for 33 and 20 and 38-yard touchdown passes and hit Casey Geditz for the other score while passing for 150 yards. Hettich caught seven passes for 127 yards and finished with four rushes for 107 yards. Geditz added 74 rushing yards on four carries. 

Harrison Beyers led North Central rushing for 36 yards on six carries and throwing for 97 yards. Jade Jacobs caught six passes for 49 yards and led the defense with five tackles. 

Wolsey-Wessington 22, Kimball/White Lake 20

KIMBALL — Class 9A No. 4 Wolsey-Wessington clipped Class 9AA Kimball/White Lake in Friday high school football action. 

KWL’s Iden Myers finished with 93 yards rushing on 20 carries. Nathan Mohnen added 43 yards rushing on nine carries and a touchdown. Park Sinclair completed all five of his passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. Myers, Cooper Leiferman, Carter Konechne and Graden Holan had eight tackles apiece. 

Wolsey-Wessington stats were not reported.


Gayville-Volin 48, Burke 21

BURKE — Gayville-Volin’s Spencer Karstens tossed three passing touchdowns as Gayville-Volin topped Burke in Friday high school football action. 

Karstens completed 7-of-13 passes for 129 yards, while he rushed for 68 yards and a score. Will Fairley rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown. Carter Barron had 55 rushing yards. Hunter Wuebben had 44 yards receiving and caught two touchdowns. Jordan Wuestewald caught a touchdown. Karstens had 15 tackles. 

For Burke, Kaleb Schonebaum rushed for 145 yards on 21 carries. Jayder Schonebaum had 79 yards rushing and a score. Gentry Bartling had 65 yards rushing and a touchdown. Elijah Bartling threw for 69 yards and a score. Gentry Bartling had 78 yards receiving and a touchdown catch. Kaleb Schonebaum had 10 tackles. 


De Smet 28, Estelline/Hendricks 14

ESTELLINE — Slayten Wilkinson scored three rushing touchdowns as De Smet picked up a Friday high school football win.

Wilkinson finished with 188 yards rushing and posted seven tackles on defense. Ganon Henrich had 114 rushing yards, 12 tackles and one fumble recovery. Gannon Gilligan added 55 yards rushing, a touchdown and 10 tackles on defense. 

For Estelline/Hendricks, Carson Reitz completed 16-of-29 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. He added 54 yards rushing. Regan Schwartz had 64 yards receiving and caught two touchdowns. Matthew McAninch had 13 tackles, while Wyat James and Braxton Jongeling each had 11 tackles. Cooper Faehnrich had 10 tackles.


Colman-Egan 52, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0

LAKE PRESTON — Hayden Pearson had three touchdown passes as Colman-Egan defeated Iroquois/Lake Preston in Friday’s high school football action 

Pearson completed 4-of-5 passes for 152 yards and the three scores. Jase Mousel caught three passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns while Jackson Zwart caught one pass for 45 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Clayton Bohlman led the Hawks defense with four solo tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss. 

Ryne Greene led Iroquois/Lake Preston rushing for 21 yards on five carries. Ervin Carter had two tackles to lead the defense. 


Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 36, Avon 26

AVON — Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy edged Class 9B No. 1 Avon in Friday high school football action. 

Riley Tschetter paced the Phoenix with 187 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, while he also rushed for a score. Tschetter connected with Chris Aasen and Tate Sortensen for passing touchdowns. Karter Weber had an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown. Dominic Sperling posted 133 yards rushing on 17 carries and scored a touchdown. Sawyer Wipf posted 11 tackles.

For Avon, Aziah Meyer had 141 yards rushing on 29 carries and a touchdown. Landon Mudder posted 113 rushing yards on 15 carries and a score. Meyer and Easton Sees both threw passing touchdowns to Al’Shamon Gunter, who finished with 57 receiving yards. 


Winner 46, Chamberlain 0

CHAMBERLAIN — Class 11B No. 1 Winner rushed for 263 yards on its way to a high school football win over Chamberlain.

Eighteen different Warriors carried the football with Zac Olson leading the way with three rushes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Orel Ryken, Konner Osborn, Brevan Bolander and Tayden Pechota each had touchdowns for Winner. Seth Heath led the Winner defense with 3.5 tackles. 

Leading Chamberlain was Frederick Hunter who finished with nine carries for 24 yards. Brennan Kruse led the defense with seven tackles while River Niewenhaus finished with six tackles. 


Sioux Valley 17, Elk Point-Jefferson 14

VOLGA — Class 11B No. 2 got a huge boost from running back Donovan Rose on their way to a win over Class 11B No. 3 Elk Point-Jefferson. 

Rose had 15 carries for 262 yards and touchdown runs of 94 and 54 yards. As a team the Cossacks finished with 375 yards rushing as Brock Christopherson added 107 yards to the total. Christopherson led the defense with 12 tackles with Andrew Gunderson having 11 stops. Rose and Jakob Guthmiller each had ten tackles for the Cossacks. 

Keaton Gale led Elk Point-Jefferson completing five-of-seven passes for 66 yards while rushing for 52 yards. Beau Schmitz added 77 rushing yards and Aiden Hammitt caught one pass for 25 yards and a touchdown. Gale and Schmitz each had 11 tackles to lead the defense. 


Mobridge-Pollock 19, Deuel 13

DEUEL — A punishing ground game that churned out over 300 rushing yards helped Mobridge-Pollock hold off Deuel in high school football action Friday. 

Mack Saxon led Mobridge-Pollock rushing for 210 yards on 24 carries. Easton Eismann finished with six carries for 86 yards and the go-ahead touchdown. Eason Eisemann had rushing touchdowns of 25 and three yards. Brayden Wientjes led the defense with seven tackles.

Leading Deuel was Gavin Kloos who finished with 18 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Sather added a 74-yard kickoff return for the Cardinals. Kloos and Sather combined for 17 tackles to lead the defense. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 46, Sioux Falls Lutheran 8

SIOUX FALLS — Class 9B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary rushed for 382 yards in a Friday high school football victory.

Thomas LaVoy powered the Cardinals with nine carries for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Jake Heinitz added 10 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown. Lincoln LeBrun rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown. Trimmier Hanson added a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. Kade Lutt rushed for 36 yards. LeBrun hauled in a touchdown catch. Jacob Geraets posted six tackles and Maverick LeBrun had two sacks. 

Sioux Falls Lutheran had 92 total yards. 


Sioux Falls Christian 21, Dell Rapids 7

DELL RAPIDS — Class 11A No. 1 knocked off Class 11A No. 3 Dell Rapids in high school football action Friday. 

Lincoln Prins led the Chargers completing nine passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Snyder caught eight passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Braydon Witte rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. 

Cole Ruesink led Dell Rapids rushing for 84 yards while Ryan Stubbe rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown. Kenny Swanson led the defense with nine tackles and Will Ronshaugen had an interception for the Quarriors. 


Madison 38, Canton 16

CANTON — A big night from Madison running back Caleb Hodges helped the Bulldogs hold off Canton in high school football action Friday. 

Hodges carried the ball 16 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Cain Wallner added 73 yards on the ground while Bulldogs quarterback Ben Hodges had a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. Jordan Pederson led the defense with seven solo tackles. 

Teague Granum and Aiden Schrempp each had rushing touchdowns to lead Canton. Schrempp finished with 31 rushing yards and a sack for Canton. Ryan Larson also had a sack for the C-Hawks. 


Yankton 28, Tea Area 7

TEA — Easton Nelson tossed three touchdown passes as Class 11AA No. 1 Yankton beat Class 11AA No. 5 Tea Area in high school football action Friday. 

Nelson completed 12-of-20 passes for 175 yards. Carson Ness caught three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. Connor Slaba caught three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown with Cohen Zahrbock catching one pass for 10 yards and a touchdown. The Bucks ground out 119 rushing yards with Matthew Sheldon rushing 10 times for 52 yards. Bryce Kral led the defense with 11 tackles. 

Tea Area’s Dawson Eimers led the Titans rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown. Riley Svanda caught three passes for 39 yards. Caleb Kuhnert and Eimers each had eight tackles for Tea Area.
