Hanson 3, Viborg-Hurley 0

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson swept Viborg-Hurley in a Friday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-18, 26-24 and 25-13.

Hanson’s Kylie Haiar finished with nine kills and two aces. Jazzy Campbell recorded one ace, five kills and nine digs. Taziah Hawkins finished with five kills and nine digs. Claire Bridge recorded nine digs. Ava Doyle had four kills and one block, while Kiana Berg posted three kills. Jersey Kampshoff posted 13 assists and six aces. Cadence Jarding posted 12 assists.

For Viborg-Hurley, Abby Huth posted five kills and two aces. Danica Gordon finished with four kills and four digs. Jenna Graves posted three kills, four digs and eight assists. Mataya Vannorsdel logged three kills, seven assists and nine digs. Natali Blair posted eight digs. Charley Nelson and Aubree Schwartz had 17 and 10 digs, respectively. Paisley Skonhovd had three digs and two kills. 


Miller 3, Ethan 2

MILLER — Miller outlasted Ethan in a five-set high school volleyball match on Friday. The set scores were 15-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15 and 15-9.

Miller’s Aleah Schlechter finished with 17 kills, two solo blocks and 18 digs. Paige Werdel finished with 16 kills. Shaylee Anderberg and Gracen Werdel posted nine kills apiece. Heather Resel recorded 32 assists and Olivia Resel logged 17 assists. Jolie Palmer finished with 40 digs. Anderberg logged 29 digs. Journey Palmer finished with 13 digs. 

For Ethan, Ava Lingemann finished with 21 kills and 39 digs. Marissa Storm had 15 kills and 18 digs. Maddy Bartscher finished with 35 assists and 33 digs. Claire Mellegaard had 29 digs and Marissa Storm posted 18 digs. Rachel Klock and Lingemann had two blocks apiece. 


Avon 3, Menno 1

MENNO — Avon picked up a four-set high school volleyball match win over Menno on Friday. The set scores were 25-21, 17-25, 25-21 and 25-22.

Avon’s Courtney Sees finished with 12 kills and 29 digs. McKenna Kocmich posted 24 assists, 15 digs and four aces. Lila Vanderlei posted one block, eight kills and 18 digs. Rilyn Thury posted eight kills and 10 digs. Jordyn Voigt finished with 28 digs, Macy Voigt had seven digs. Lexi Vanderlei added six digs and Kaeli Wallinga posted two blocks. 

For Menno, Ashton Massey finished with 14 kills, nine digs, five aces and five blocks. Ellyana Ulmer recorded 22 digs. Joslynn Fischer recorded 21 assists, four kills and 11 digs. Taylor Freier posted four kills and 18 digs. Maggie Miller finished with 29 digs. Lexie McNinch had four blocks. Kaelie Derby had three blocks and two kills. 


Centerville 3, Colome 0

CENTERVILLE — Centerville swept Colome in straight sets to earn a win in volleyball action Friday night. Set scores were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-7. 

Leading the Centerville attack Friday was Thea Gust who had 12 kills, two blocks and five digs. Emma Marshall had nine kills while Lilee Shearer had eight kills, six digs and four aces. Keira Austin finished with 31 assists, four digs, one ace and one kill. Lillie Eide had a kill, two blocks, 10 digs and two aces and Harper Wattier had eight digs. 

Aspyn McKenzie led Colome with three kills, 14 digs and one ace. Keasha Kartek had six kills and an ace while Westlie Cahoy led with 26 assists. Raylynn Dehning had six assists and seven digs while Emme Nelson and Aleah Musser both had an ace. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Sully Buttes 0

ONIDA — Hitchcock-Tulare swept Sully Buttes in straight sets in Friday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-5, 25-21 and 25-17.

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelyn Schroeder posted 17 kills, while Rebecca Huizenga logged eight kills. Lila Johnson added 23 assists and Gracyn Bixler posted four assists. Isabel Gilbert and Ella Johnson logged three aces apiece. Cambree Hoekman posted 15 digs and Ella Johnson had 14 digs. Gilbert had two solo blocks.

Sully Buttes stats were not reported.


Castlewood 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

CASTLEWOOD — Castlewood swept Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in a Friday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-6, 25-13 and 25-19.

ORR’s Alivia Padgett finished with six kills, nine digs and two aces. Julia Trygstad added five kills and 10 digs. Emily Matson logged 11 assists. Kailey Pearson posted five digs. 

Castlewood stats were not reported. 


Canistota 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0

CANISTOTA — Canistota won its sixth consecutive match Friday with a straight-sets sweep of

McCook Central/Montrose. Set scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 25-18. 

Kayla Papendick led Centerville with 11 kills while also having 16 digs. Natalie Becker finished with 29 digs while Sierra McGregor had eight kills and an ace. Ember Schenkel had eight kills, two digs and four aces while Bailey Spicer had eight digs and five digs. 

Abby Wagner and Natalie Lueth combined for 13 kills to lead the McCook Central/Montrose offense. Lexie Lunders had 11 digs and Brooklyn Flannery finished with 13 digs. Kayla Vander Woude had two blocks and an ace. 


Kimball/White Lake 3, Wessington Springs 0

KIMBALL— A big night from Ryann Nielsen helped Kimball/White Lake to a three-set sweep of Wessington Springs in high school volleyball action Friday. Set scores were 25-8, 25-13 and 25-19. 

Nielsen finished with nine kills, eight assists, 21 digs, four aces and a block. Harley Nammany finished with eight kills, 12 assists, 10 digs and three aces while Madison Meier had six assists, 20 digs and an ace. Lindy Kiehn added five kills, three digs, four aces and three blocks. Elana Brennan had three kills and three blocks while Mariah Gosmire had four kills and three blocks.

Alyssa Grohs’ all-around game of two kills, 17 assists, 10 digs and an ace powered Wessington Springs. Carissa Scheel had a team-leading six kills to go along with four digs and a block. Raylee Fagerhaug had six kills and 10 digs for Wessington Springs 


Groton Area 3, Redfield 1

REDFIELD — Groton Area defeated Redfield in a four-set high school volleyball match on Friday. The set scores were 23-25, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-18.

Groton Area’s Anna Fjeldheim recorded 19 kills, while Chesney Weber finished with 14 kills. L. Fliehs logged 39 assists and one solo block. Sydney Leicht and Carly Guthmiller had three and two aces, respectively. Guthmiller had 24 digs and Laila Roberts posted 20 digs.

For Redfield, Charli Jungwirth and Ceci Suchor logged eight kills apiece. Katie Rozell recorded five aces and five block assists. Hayden Gall posted one ace and 26 assists. Chloe Zens finished with 24 digs and Jersey Morrison posted 16 digs. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Madison 2

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson picked up a win over Class A No. 3 Madison in a thrilling 5-set match in front of their home crowd. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 14-25, 15-25 and 16-14. 

Bentlee Kolbaum paced Elk Point-Jefferson Friday with 22 kills and 27 digs. Courtney Brewer had a monster night for Huskies with 34 digs and 49 assists. Ashley Brewer finished with 15 kills, four digs, a block and an assist. Natalie Huertz had ten kills, a dig and two blocks while Grace Peed had seven kills and five digs. 

Audrey Nelson led Madison with 22 kills and five blocks. Callie McDermott had four aces and 22 digs and Karley Theede had 32 assists. 


Dakota Valley 3, Vermillion 0 

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley swept Vermillion in a Friday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-12, 25-18 and 25-12.

Dakota Valley’s Sophie Tuttle recorded 15 kills, three digs and three aces. Claire Munch added nine kills, four digs and two aces. Sammy Kimball collected six kills. Jacee Squier recorded 16 assists, eight digs and two aces. Bria Perryman posted nine kills, three aces and three digs. Reagan Granstrom logged four kills and six aces. Lauren Olhausen had four kills and Stella Carlson posted three aces. 

For Vermillion, Brooklyn Voss finished with seven kills. Serena Gapp had three kills and four digs. Brooke Jensen had two kills. Brooke VanDrongelen logged three digs and three aces. 


Hamlin 3, Deuel 0

DEUEL — Hamlin swept Deuel in straight sets to earn a win in high school volleyball action Friday. Set scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-10. 

Addie Neuendorf led the Hamlin offense with 14 kills, three aces and six assists. Marissa Bawden had 16 assists and five aces. Grace Opdahl added three aces and nine digs. Emily Everson had three kills and one block while Kayde Knebel finished with a block. 

Kayden Russel had a solid night for Deuel with two aces and 10 assists. Annika Kriz had five kills and 12 digs while Sara Jo Kreger had an ace and an assist. Kaitlyn Gubrud also added five kills for Deuel. 


Florence-Henry 3, Webster Area 1

FLORENCE — Florence-Henry picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Webster Area on Friday. The set scores 22-25, 25-13, 25-20 and 25-21.

Florence-Henry’s Caylin Kelly finished with 25 kills, 30 digs, two solo blocks and one ace. Taylor Watson added 10 kills, 32 digs and one solo block. Kate Hulscher finished with three kills and three aces. Ashlyn Vavruska had 32 assists and 23 digs. 

Webster Area stats were not reported. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 0 

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Jefferson swept Sioux Falls Roosevelt in straight sets earning a win in high school volleyball action Friday. Set scores were 25-15, 25-11 and 25-15. 

Emory Brosnahan led Jefferson with 12 kills, two aces, five digs and a block assist. Presly Pastian had 28 assists, eight digs, and an ace. Isabel Simmons had seven kills, four digs and two blocks. Cora Hokenstad had a kill, three aces and a team-leading 14 digs. Ella Kvernmo had five kills, two aces and ten digs. 

Stats for Sioux Falls Roosevelt were not available.
