Avon 3, Gayville-Volin 2

AVON — Avon edged Gayville-Volin on a five-set high school volleyball match on Monday. The set scores were 15-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-14 and 15-13.

Avon’s Courtney Sees finished with 22 kills and 41 digs. Rilyn Thury posted 16 digs, 13 kills and two aces. Lila Vanderlei added six kills and 22 digs. Jordyn Voigt posted 20 digs and aces. McKenna Kocmich had 21 digs and 40 assists. Macy Voigt had 17 digs. Kocmich had a solo block.

For Gayville-Volin, Maia Achen finished with 22 kills and 26 digs. Paisley Dimmer had nine kills and two blocks. Jolie Westrum had seven kills and 24 digs. Taylor Hoxeng logged 34 digs. Keeley Larson logged 43 assists. Aliza Westrum had two blocks. 


Aberdeen Christian 3, Britton-Hecla 2

BRITTON — Aberdeen Christian outlasted Britton-Hecla in a five-set high school volleyball match on Monday. The set scores were 23-25, 26-24, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-5.

Britton-Hecla’s Sterling Brassfield logged nine kills and digs. Tiyanna Schott and Emma Kraft finished with seven kills apiece. Mallory Grupe and Abigail Lee had five kills apiece. Heather Storbakken had 19 assists and Jayden Bender posted 10 assists. Addison Wade and Annika Tank posted 11 digs apiece. Storbakken had 10 digs. Kaegen Fredrickson posted eight digs. Kraft, Bender, Storbakken and Wade had two aces apiece. 

Britton-Hecla stats were not reported. 


Northwestern 3, North Central 0

MELLETTE — Class B No. 3 Northwestern wrapped up their regular season with a three-set sweep of North Central in volleyball action Monday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-13 and 25-20. 

Ashley Haven powered the Wildcats Monday with 14 kills, 12 digs and two assisted blocks. Payton Grandpre led with four aces with Ella Boekelheide finished with two aces, 13 assists, 13 digs and three assisted blocks. Nicolette Nickeson finished with seven kills and two assisted blocks while Layla Ortmeier led with 19 assists. 

North Central was led by Amree Vander Vorst who finished with four aces, six kills and ten digs. Billie Jo Hoffman had an ace, five kills and 14 digs. Sydney Bertsch led with 16 assists and Jenisa Jacobs had 12 digs. 


Chester 3, Arlington 0

CHESTER — Chester swept Arlington in Monday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 26-24 and 25-13.

Chester’s Addison Bates posted 12 kills and two blocks. Jacy Wolf finished with nine kills and two aces. Lily Van Hal added 30 assists, 14 digs and two aces. Van Hal also recorded her 1,000th career dig. Addison Bates and Emilee Bleeker posted two blocks. Emmerson Eppard had two aces. Emery Larson recorded 23 digs.

For Arlington, Harley Johnson posted eight kills and Addie Steffensen finished with six kills. Issie Steffensen recorded 15 kills and 16 digs. Madi Bacon had 20 digs. Jaelyn Huntimer had two blocks and one ace. 


Wagner 3, Burke 0

BURKE — Wagner swept Class B No. 4 Burke in a Monday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-22, 25-17 and 25-11.

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal finished with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Kya Kjeldgaard had six kills and 23 digs. Shona Kocer posted five kills and six blocks. Madi Knebel posted 18 digs. Ravyn Medricky and Aubrey Medricky posted four blocks apiece. Macy Koupal dished out 28 assists.

For Burke, Paige Bull finished with eight kills and three blocks. Kailee Frank recorded 11 digs, seven kills and one block. Emmie Hausmann posted five kills and seven digs. Elle Johnson posted 16 digs. Ava Sargent and Bridget Eliason had seven and six assists, respectively. 


Wolsey-Wessington 3, Redfield 0

REDFIELD — Wolsey-Wessington swept Redfield in straight sets earning a win in high school volleyball action Monday. Set scores were 25-14, 25-9 and 25-19. 

Shae Uttecht led Wolsey-Wessington with four aces and four digs. Kailynn Dorris finished with 11 kills and four aces while Samara Clemente put down six kills and led with four solo blocks. Kendal Uttecht had seven assists while Payton Kemnitz had seven assists and nine digs for the Warbirds. 

Katie Rozell led Redfield with eight kills while also picking up seven digs. Chloe Zens had a team-leading 21 digs with Kinley Smith having four assisted blocks. Hayden Gall led with nine assists while Charli Jungwirth and Jersey Morrison each had an ace. 


Hanson 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0

HANSON — Hanson wrapped up their regular season with a three-set sweep of McCook Central/Montrose. Set scores were 25-21, 25-20 and 20-17. 

Jersey Kampshoff led the Beavers with 15 assists, three digs and four aces. Jazzy Campbell finished with nine kills, nine digs and three aces while Kylie Haiar added nine kills and a block. Cadence Jarding finished with 11 assists and three digs and Claire Bridge added 14 digs and two blocks. Taziah Hawkins finished with five kills, 10 digs and two aces and Kiana Berg had a kill, a block and three digs.

Abby Wagner led MCM with nine kills and three blocks with Addison Gordon contributing five kills on the night. Lexie Lunders finished with 11 digs while Maddy Lauck finished with 20 assists. 


Bridgewater-Emery 3, Centerville 1

CENTERVILLE — Bridgewater-Emery defeated Centerville in a four-set high school volleyball match on Monday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-22.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Oakley Weber finished with 13 kills, 22 assists, 20 digs and three aces. Sierra Weber posted nine kills and one block. Madison Fisk posted nine kills and seven digs. Hayden Hofer logged eight kills, 19 assists and 12 digs. Kennedie Roskens had 28 digs. Macie Weber logged eight kills.

For Centerville, Thea Gust finished with 11 kills, eight digs and two blocks. Lillie Eide had 16 digs, three kills and two blocks. Lillee Shearer had eight kills, eight digs and four aces. Kiylee Westra added four kills and two digs. Emma Marshall finished with eight kills, four blocks and two digs. Harper Wattier had five digs. Keira Austin had four digs and two aces. 


Herreid/Selby Area 3, Ipswich 0

IPSWICH — Herreid/Selby Area swept Ipswich in straight sets earning a win in high school volleyball action Monday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-21 and 25-23. 

Jordyn Rossow led Herreid/Selby Area with eight kills and an assist while Jada Rossow had three aces and a solo block. Sophia Ritter led with 16 assists. Pausha Meidinger finished with a team-leading 14 digs while Stephanie Alibee had 13 digs on the night. 

Marley Guthmiller paced Ipswich with 11 kills, a block and a block assist and 11 digs. Josie Knutson dished out 15 assists while Gracyn Kadlec and Tristan Geditz each had an ace. Kathryn Kilber had a team-leading 14 digs and Kaylin Onken had five kills. 


Canistota 3, Freeman 0

CANISTOTA — Canistota swept Freeman in a Monday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 26-24, 25-18 and 25-13.

Canistota’s Sierra McGregor finished with 13 kills and five digs. Ember Schenkel posted seven kills and six digs. Kayla Papendick posted six kills and 22 digs. Natalee Hofer logged five kills, 10 assists, 12 digs and one ace. Natalie Becker finished with 31 digs and two aces. Bailey Spicer finished with 17 assists and two digs. Emma Sandman had eight digs.

For Freeman, Ella Waltner posted five kills and nine digs. Zoe Butler recorded five kills, 17 digs, two assists and two aces. Ashlin Jacobsen posted two kills and six digs. Emily Mendel recorded 19 digs. Cami Fransen posted 11 digs and three aces. Vaida Ammann had eight assists and seven digs. 


West Central 3, Tri-Valley 2

HARTFORD — West Central outlasted Tri-Valley in a five-set high school volleyball match on Monday. The set scores were 25-14, 21-25, 25-11, 21-25 and 15-7.

West Central’s Kaia Gabbert and Marissa Dobbs finished with eight kills apiece. Gabbert and Landry Heath had three aces apiece. Dobbs added 22 digs, 12 assists and two aces. Jocelyn Nilson and Heath had 12 digs apiece. Maddy Ingalls recorded six kills. Ellie Lienhard added 13 assists. Addison Meadors posted two solo blocks and Dobbs had two block assists. 

Tri-Valley stats were not reported. 


Garretson 3, Sioux Valley 2

VOLGA — Garretson earned a win over Sioux Valley in a five-set thriller in Monday night volleyball action. Set Scores were 21-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-22 and 15-6. 

Aleah Wagner powered the Garretson attack with 16 kills, 18 digs and two block assists. Bella Sysa and Kaylin Koch each recorded 16 kills for Garretson with Koch also adding a team-leading 19 digs. Setter Sydney Olson dished out 33 assists to go along with a kill and three aces.

Kaedyn Sapp led Sioux Valley with 18 kills and also had 14 digs. Adison Renkly finished with 11 kills, an ace and 18 digs for the Cossacks. Sunny Hesby finished with 15 assists while Keyra Kruse had two kills, four digs and a block assist.
