Parkston jumps from 15th to 7th in Week 8 Class B wrestling poll

There are a couple of changes in the Class B team rankings as McCook Central Montrose (No. 3) and Custer (No. 4) jumped over Winner Area (No. 5) rankings, which are released each week by dakotagrappler.com.

The biggest mover of the week was the Parkston, which jumped all the way from No. 15 to No. 7. The Trojans wrestled well at Saturday’s Parkston Little B tournament finishing behind MCM and Miller/Highmore-Harrold.

Two big movers for the Trojans this week were Wyatt Anderson (132) and Carter Sommer (138). Anderson defeated Howard’s Tate Miller in the finals of Saturday’s tournament and went from unranked all the way to the No. 2 ranking in his weight class. Carter Sommer defeated Clark/Willow Lake’s Josh Kannegieter in Saturday’s final and went from unranked to a No. 7 ranking in his weight class. 

Two new No. 1 ranked wrestlers this week as Wagner’s Jhett Breen (138) jumps into the No. 1 ranking after winning the Winner Invitational. Parker’s Levi Wieman (220) jumped from No. 3 in his weight class to No. 1 after defeating Mobridge-Pollock’s Aiden Schoenhard in the finals of the Winner Invitational.
